Research shows that that motivation is a fundamental factor in the education process, regardless of where students are at in their educational journey.
In this episode, I explain how we can get better at motivating our students and ourselves so that we can improve learning outcomes in our classrooms. I want to take a deeper dive into motivation and how we can get better at motivating our students. If we know what makes our students tick, we can be more successful in our attempts to motivate them. We are going to explore Philppe Carré's model of motivation for adult education and training and then, I want to leave you with some practical and applicable teaching tips.

Today I want to talk about our WHO. More specifically, WHO is our audience. Now, the primary focus of this podcast is adult educators. However, I am sure that there will also be some helpful take-aways for my listeners that teach K-12 and I will try to underscore those as we move through today’s topic. The topic of this podcast is The Power of Your Why. At the end of this episode, I want us to come away with a solid understanding of WHY we, as career professionals, decided to become and persist as adult educators. This week I want us to think about why we teach. I have found that this might not always be a straightforward answer. It is usually fairly easy for us to tell or articulate our how we got into teaching….but not so much the “why we got into teaching.” I like to think of the HOW as the brain/body part and the WHY as the heart/soul part.
This podcast is for ALL educators. However, its intent is to help professionals transition into effective professors.
