In 2019, Adegbonmire graduated from Hofstra University with an MFA in Creative Writing & Literature. In this episode, she talks about her experience with both publishing and writing.

Welcome back to episode two of Behind the Book! On today's episode, Cecilia Gray and Sabrina Josephson interview Chavonn Williams Shen, a Minneapolis native, educator, and activist. They are a winner of the Still I Rise grant, a first runner-up for the Los Angeles Review Flash Fiction Contest and a Best of the Net Award finalist. A Pushcart Prize nominee and a fellow through the Givens Foundation for African American Literature, Williams Shen has had their poetry and prose appear in Yemassee, the Los Angeles Review, Permafrost Magazine, Cosmonauts Avenue, and elsewhere.

In this episode, Cecilia Gray and Sabrina Josephson discuss their hopes for the podcast, their future guests, and talk a little bit about what you should know about them as you listen to the podcast. Cecilia Gray is a Publishing Studies and Writing Studies & Composition major at Hofstra University who has interned at Folio Literary Management, The Strand Magazine, Foundry Literary & Media, and Simon & Schuster. Sabrina Josephson is also a Publishing Studies major with a minor in Global Studies and has interned at Foundry Literary & Media as well as Helm Literary.
