Lord Moylan is a Conservative peer. He has been involved in London and national politics since the early 1990s, being at various times a councillor in Kensington and Chelsea, an officer of London Councils, a co-founder and co-Chairman of Urban Design London (a non-profit-making association of planning, design and transport professionals) and Deputy Chairman of Transport for London under Boris Johnson as well as an adviser to the Mayor on various transport projects between 2008 and 2016. He chaired the Mayor’s Design Advisory Group for much of the Johnson Mayoralty. He became Chairman of Tube Lines Holdings Limited when it was acquired by TfL and was later the first Chairman of Crossrail 2 Limited. He was also a Non-Executive Director of Crossrail Limited and served as Chairman of the London Legacy Development Corporation during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a member of the House of Lords, he takes a particular interest in Brexit (especially its effects on relations with Ireland and Northern Ireland) and in broader international relations, as well as in transport, infrastructure and planning. Lord Moylan was educated at the Queen’s College Oxford, was President of the Oxford Union in 1978 and served in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (principally in South Africa) before becoming an investment banker. In 1983, he was the Conservative Party candidate at the General Election in the constituency of Birmingham, Erdington, narrowly failing to take the seat.
Non-essential shops in Wales will close from the end of trading on Christmas Eve, with an alert level four lockdown starting four days later. Close-contact services, such as hair salons, will also have to shut before Christmas, First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced. All pubs, cafes and restaurants will close at 18:00 GMT on Christmas Day. Meanwhile Mr Drakeford said only two households should meet during the festive period. The Welsh Government are failing the people of Wales. We now have the highest levels of COVID cases in the whole of the UK even though we've had the harshest lockdowns. Its clear that lockdowns do not work! Has Boris lost his Balls! Deal or No Deal that’s the question I asked Ben Habib. Benyamin Naeem Habib is a British politician and businessman. He was elected as a Brexit Party Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the 2019 European parliamentary election. He remained in the role until the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU. Habib is the chief executive of First Property Group plc, a commercial property investment and fund management company. Chairman of Unlocked and founder of Brexit Watch. Latest on negotiations with EU as deadline approaches. Boris Johnson and Ursula von der Leyen have mandated their negotiators to continue hammering out a deal - pulling back from the no-deal brink yet again as today’s deadline loomed. Mr Johnson spoke with the EU chief and his cabinet this afternoon after David Frost met with his EU counterparts in Brussels this morning, with talks expected to continue in the Belgian capital. UK government sources last night warned the offer on the table from the EU is still “unacceptable” to the UK, with one saying: “Talks are continuing overnight, but as things stand the offer on the table from the EU remains unacceptable. “The Prime Minister will leave no stone unturned in this process, but he is absolutely clear: any agreement must be fair and respect the fundamental position that the UK will be a sovereign nation in three weeks’ time.”
