This is a re-run of the program which is we played last year. Reconciliation Road Church is located in Amanzimtoti in KwaZulu-Natal. Gareth Bowley and Jacob Dlamini are sharing stories of their involvement in the community. More stories of development are coming up in the new season.
We visit Reconciliation Road Church in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa to learn about how this church has connected with the community to address poverty as well as promote development. This church has taken a unique approach to addressing poverty but at the same time believes in strengthening partnerships with community-based organisations. What a great story!
Jubilee Community Church, Cape Town South Africa, runs a number of social interventions projects which seek to address some of the challenges faced by the poor and marginalised. These fall under the banner of the church's social ministries. In this episode we get to learn about a health centre, a project that is providing a halfway house for women who are ex-offenders, an organisation that is working with young men and vegetable project whose produce is helping feed many households.

In Episode 2 of Faith Sounds for Development we look at the work that is done by churches under the banner of New Frontiers. New Frontiers was started in the late 1970s by Terry Virgo as a group of apostolic leaders partnering together on global mission with common values, beliefs, shared mission and genuine relationships.
These leaders are involved in a number of core activities such as church planting, training up of leaders and are involved in social action. Nigel Ring, a retired practitioner from this movement, helps to gain a better picture of his own past involvement.
In this first episode of Faith Sounds for Development we explore some of the major themes that are dominant within the development debate. However, this time around, the discussion is looked at from the point of the church and faith-based organisation. This first episodes seek to touch on some of these themes as presented by three practitioners within the field.
