Psalm 19:1, 4 declares, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork…Their line has gone out through all the Earth, and their words to the end of the world!”

Garden of Eden Eating has been around, quite literally, since the beginning of time! And just like our first ancestors, you have choices to make!

Imagine: Two lions having a conversation on the African Plain…
Lion #1: “I’m hungry, but I am just too tired to hunt. Will you go fetch me that juicy-looking Gazelle? And deep-fry it for me while you’re at it.”

Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. This was God’s permission for us to go ahead and eat anything we want, right? NO IT WASN’T! (Peter was talking about men, and not about eating them either.)
God gives men choices within His expressed will, and part off that is eating within specific guidelines.
Do you want to be healthy? The question today is: “To eat or not to eat?” What is a “normal and healthy” diet? According to God? According to man? According to anatomy and physiology? It is time to drop the religion about food! That’s right, don’t get religious; but do get spiritual!
We know...you got born again and gave up your immorality, gambling, and foul speech, but don’t mess with your pork chops! Right?! Can you eat what the Bible calls an “abomination” and still go to heaven? Yes, and you’ll probably get there sooner!

In Module 6, “From Roots to Fruits”, we talked about how a tree must take ROOT downward to bear FRUIT upwards! This week we’re focusing on a fruit as rare as any!
Galatians 5:22-23 reminds us that fruit of the Spirit are essential components to experiencing God’s plan for His children - a rich Kingdom life here on earth. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness are precious, and there is no law against them…and yet the 9th fruit remains quite elusive to most Believers.
The very next scripture, verse 24, is the perfect proof of our mandate to nurture this often-missing fruit, "And those who are Messiah’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." Crucifying the flesh, dying to self, and renewing the mind all exemplify aspects of, yes, self-control.
With the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to be the seed described in 1 Corinthians 15:36, which after being sown into the ground "WILL NOT come to LIFE unless it DIES FIRST"

Do you have one of those closets in your home that makes you afraid to open the door? You know— the one with the door that you must lean on with your body to close as you shove the uncooperative “contents” back in, while trying not to slam your fingers!

The Bible has much to say about Roots AND Fruit!
Mathew 3:10 states, “and the axe is already laid to the ROOT of the trees. Every tree, then, which does not bear GOOD FRUIT is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
Scripture also informs us that someone “who has NO ROOT himself” only lasts a short while, and when trouble or persecution comes, because of the Word about the Kingdom, immediately falls away! (Matt. 13:21)
Biblical wisdom counsels that the tree of OUR life will only be strong when our roots are deep, nourished, and fortified. There is no other way to have a life full of abundant FRUIT!
We must realize that through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have been called to live as a reflection of the Messiah – an offshoot of the most fruit bearing tree, abundantly feeding this fruit of the Spirit to all who would come eat of His Tree of Life; living as a fruitful offering to our Father & King!

We must face the reality of how Big-Medicine and Big-Pharma construct and maintain a disease culture and economy so that we are compelled to “come out of Babylon”.

The Bible states that we should be “in the world”, but not be part of the world. In which Kingdom you are living?!
We are all familiar with the story of the Prophet Daniel. Some 2700 years ago he was an exile in Babylon; he was literally “in Babylon”. But through his determination to live in holiness (set-apart-ness), he did not live as part of Babylon. No matter the cost, he always separated himself (kept holy) from their ways, and honored God in his decisions.
Even regarding the food from the Kings Table, Daniel chose to eat vegetables instead of going against his LORD. He was being holy, “coming out of Babylon”, in a sense, even though he stayed in Babylon. Clearly, his contribution to the Scriptures goes far beyond a three-week vegetarian diet program!

And let’s face it, as Believers; we look to the Cross as the ultimate indication that the Almighty allows us to try again!
So, did you bring your best intentions in the form of New Years resolutions this January 1st? So, a month later, "how’s that goin fer ya?" Thought so!
Fear not! There is no condemnation….but we do bring ADMONITION.

This is the time when even the most disciplined people figuratively loosen their belts, and therefore wind up literally loosening their belts too.
But, don’t give up hope. You can still stay healthy throughout the season (and year-round) and enjoy yourself at the same time.
