Christ shows us that enduring persecution for His sake is the climax of what being His disciple mean.
Peacemakers do not become children of God because they work for peace. They work for peace because they are the children of God.
While the Bible says we cannot see God, we are still promised that we'll see His face. And this face is the incarnated face of God: Jesus Christ.
When Jesus promised us that we'll see God if our hearts are pure, He implied three things.
The content of our hearts is what makes us who we are. And when God is central in the life of our souls, we'll act purely towards our neighbor.
There is no other way that God has made to see Him except by having a pure heart. And this heart is the kind of heart that Jesus died to purchase.

We are in danger of making the Christian life trivial if we do not show mercy as one of the most important aspect of life.
The key to becoming a merciful person is to become a broken person. God blesses those who are merciful because they are not preoccupied with offering sacrifices but with showing mercy.
Those who are mercy to other people flows from their experience of God's mercy. We are merciful because God is merciful.

The history of the human heart is that it has an insatiable longing for something beyond itself.
To be a Christian is to have unsatisfiable desire for righteousness through Jesus Christ.
How can we know that we are truly humble? We need not look further than how humility relate to God.
We are not humble because of what you do. But because of we depend on and trust in God.
Jesus does not directly tells us to pursue happiness in the beatitude but He does give us the pathway to happiness. And this pathway is mourning.
What makes Christian mourning holy—seperated from the ordinary—is God's comfort in it.

If being poor in spirit means we are not self-sufficient and self-dependant, but in need of God, how can we know when we are poor in spirit?
Heaven is not for those who are perfect morally. But for those who have nothing in themselves to boast about for them to enter God's kingdom. Heaven belong to those who depend on God.
To those who know that without Christ they can do nothing, He is precious. That is the disposition of those who are poor in spirit.
When Jesus blessed those who are poor in spirit and realize their need for God, what lies in this portrait is the dependance to receive grace.
There is a reason why Jesus began His Sermon on the Mount with pronouncing blessing on those who are poor in spirit. It is the basis and foundation of all Christian virtues.
If we want to know what it truly means to be a Christian, then we have to let Jesus define it.
When a new year rolls in, we begin to plant seeds. And how we plant will determine how we'll harvest.

Does God really hear our prayers? Or He doesn't just listen? Or is it because we aren't good enough or our faith isn't strong enough? The hope we have in prayer is the fact that Jesus already have the Father's ear to hear us.
Should we wrestle with God or rest in Him? The question is not a thing of unbelief or faith. Prayer is a fight. It is when we wrestle with Him, that we can rest in Him.
Jesus taught us not to lose heart and give up praying because God is more willing to answer our prayers than we are willing to pray.
How can we, like Moses and Jesus, choose not to partake in the fleeting pleasures of this world? It is by looking at the great reward for our patient endurance and steadfast confidence in God.
When we know that the provident God is our Father, we won't fret over our suffering because everything happens to us to make us more Christlike.
Christian, we are at war! To be born again is to be born into a fight. And this battle is for our souls. It will determine heaven or hell.
For many of us, the Christian life we live is only but a dream. We need to test our ourselves whether our faith is genuine.
The providence of God is our hope that God is at work in our lives—even in the dark moments—making everything work together for our work.

If Jesus is the Lord of our lives, does that include what we do in our everyday life? How can we do everything in the everyday to show that we are following Jesus?
There is a way you "follow" Jesus that is not following Him at all. So how do we (not) follow Jesus?
Journeying through this world means we're disciples of Christ. But there is only one response to the call of Christ: obedience. And this obedience is proof whether we believe in Jesus or not.
Pilgrims are disciples. And as disciples, we only have today to follow Jesus. And we'll commit to Jesus if we know what cost Jesus calls us to count.
While we live in this world, we have gotten used to the usual and now we have forgotten what is most important.
Facing hardship or persecution for the faith with a firm belief in the sovereignty and love of God can help you finish your race.
We can't live today on yesterday’s commitment because we are at the verge of backsliding if we don't recommit ourselves to God everyday. That's why you should daily commit yourself to God.
Until we awake to the great danger of deserting Jesus, we will never know the present power of living by the Gospel.
