In February 2022, Malaysia's Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri had travelled to Brunei Darussalam for his first official visit since becoming the Prime Minister in August 2021. It has been a tradition for leaders of ASEAN member states to conduct official visits to each other’s capital immediately upon assuming office.
