I call Brenda "The Queen of the Scene!" I met her while she was hosting an open mic in Highland Park. She's one of the hardest working musicians I know. We talk about growing up in a non-art house and her awakening into becoming an artist.
Brenda's website can be found here.
I met James at an open mic in Highland Park, Los Angeles. Not only is James an accomplished songwriter but he has his own recording space, Pique Recording. We'd had a lovely chat about his fascination with chasing tones and the importance with always having an ear for different sounds.
James' body of work can be viewed here.

Shooting the breeze about meeting each other in Chicago for the first time & navigating college.
From splicejones.com
"Alex Splice Jones grew up in the greater Chicagoland area where he developed his love for film and crafting stories. From a young age the art of storytelling and filmmaking fueled him to create his own projects and help others realize theirs.
Being the youngest of six children, Alex has always naturally been very inquisitive and observant —often drawn to unique stories that aren’t necessarily the loudest. In 2006 he attended Columbia College of Chicago where he received a BA in Video Editing.
