Every summer, my grammy would take me to the library to check out poetry books. It was a huge part of her life, she said it helped her through some of the loneliest moments. She taught me some of her favorite poems and I have rediscovered them on my own. By the way, this is Jenine Berg.
I'm the type of person who goes out of my way to help others. Sometimes, I have to step back from a situation and take a breath. I can't wait for these next few weeks to pass because that means I'll be in a new state, and in a new place with new people. It's going to be so much fun, and I can't wait to see what it's like! I’ve been thinking about everything we do together and it feels like there is a constant glow that surrounds our family. It’s warm and it feels like we can always get along. I miss feeling like I was a part of something. I miss feeling like I mattered. I think it's time for me to take some time for myself. And it's not just the absences.
