Hosted by Marketing Coach, Rachel Kurzyp, this podcast is for business owners who are ready to become respected leaders and creators in their community. Learn how to build a business that supports your multi-passionate lifestyle, create content with confidence and clarity, and launch profitable signature services and products.
What are your content creation habits?
Are you a poster then ghoster?
Are you a create, share, repeat daily machine?
If these strategies feel good and bring you sales, don't change a thing.
But if creating content is always number one on your to-do list, it's time to learn how to repurpose your long-form content.
Your potential clients need to see, hear and feel your messages multiple times.
And your brain needs to wander between creating to come up with ideas.
Reusing your content is a good thing.
Knowing how to build on the work you've already crafted is game-changing as a small business owner.
If you'd like to deepen your content repurposing skills, listen to my conversation with Mariah.
In this episode, we chat about the following:
✨ What long-form content looks like in the age of 8-second Reels
✨ What a repurposing strategy can look like beyond sharing on IG
✨ How sharing the same message on repeat helps you make more sales
✨ The common repurposing roadblocks and challenges and how to overcome them
✨ Three simple ways to get the most out of your content strategy today

What's your plant persona? Take the quiz.

With just a few tweaks, you can turn your customer experience from meh to share-worthy and fill your client roster.
In this episode, we chat about the following:
✨ What a customer journey is and why it's important for service-based businesses

What's your sale conversion rate?
I have a 95% discovery call conversion rate. So if a potential coaching client books a time to speak with me, I will assume they’re keen to get started.
And around 80% of people who DM me on Instagram about my programs also decide to work with me within 1-2 weeks of that first message.
Both of which are very high for my industry.
I often share this information with my coaching clients and am met with questions like what is sale conversion rate, how I can improve mine, and how I can use this information to inform my sales and content marketing strategy.
I will answer all of these questions and share seven quick and easy changes you can make to improve the sale conversion rate in your business.

What does an aligned and profitable business look like for you? Take the quiz.
Today I'm sharing 5 unethical marketing strategies and tactics that aren't obviously unethical because they are used by many online business owners across industries and business types.
Sharing client wins, comments and "I'm in" messages without permission
Charging clients for international conversion fees (and other expenses in your business)
Taking photos and screenshots of client calls and group calls without permission
Making one client the "poster" client for quality or cause you want to promote
Not being available to answer client questions during the sales process
I explain why each example is unethical and what you can do instead.
If you're using any of these strategies, it's time to make intentional and sustainable changes to your marketing strategy so you can avoid and aren't reliant on them in the future.

What does an aligned and profitable business look like for you? Take the quiz.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’d know I’m a huge advocate for looking within to find answers and guidance for all things business instead of looking externally for validation.
One of the reasons why I believe we look externally is because we often feel like everything’s been done before, and there is nothing unique about our business.
Especially when we compare ourselves to our peers and competitors.
So if you've ever thought:
"I don't know why people follow me."
"The story of how I got into business is boring."
"Why would people want to know [insert random fact] about me."
This episode is for you.
Because you're the secret sauce, missing piece, mystical unicorn that you AND your clients have been searching for.
In this episode, we chat about:
✨ What standing out online actually means (you don't have to be loud or an extrovert)
✨ Why it's essential business owners create a memorable brand
✨ How to look internally to determine what makes you different from your peers
✨ Using the 6-step Fiercely You framework to build a memorable brand
✨ Three simple branding strategies you can use to stay focused and avoid comparisonitis

What does an aligned and profitable business look like for you? Take the quiz.
OMG, I can't believe this is the 100th episode.
I racked my brains for cool things to do to make this episode special.
And one idea kept coming up for me, so I went for it.
I won't say what it is; you'll have to listen to find out.
But it delivers practical advice, actionable tips and a good dose of inspiration like every episode before.
And it speaks to a personal story you have yet to hear publicly.
I get a little emotional at the end because I was thinking about all the DMs, emails and voice messages I've received over the past 2+ years.
Comments like:
"You gave me permission to stop offering a course I hated running."
"I was feeling really lost, so I put on your latest episode and felt instantly better."
"I implemented your tips and booked my dream client this week."
"I kept putting off pitching myself to podcasts. Then I heard your voice in my head, and I thought, what do I have to lose?"
"I didn't even know caveats were a thing. Why is no one else talking about this? You always share things no one else is saying, but I know they are thinking."
I say it like a million times in this episode, but I want to say it again:
Thanks so much for tuning into today's episode and for your continuous support and love of this podcast.
It means so much that you tune in every week and welcome me into your space.
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as the other 99.

It’s prevalent in the influencer community, and I’m seeing it filter into the online business space too.
The language shift I’m seeing is caveats.
Have you started using them too?
Today on the show, I'm sharing what they are, why they're being used and how they can negatively affect how your content is perceived online.
I also share four easy ways you can provide context and personal background and share your values in your content without using caveats.
I hope this episode encourages you to revisit your content marketing strategy and make the necessary changes to feel confident sharing your opinion online.

Most online business advice doesn't work for neurodiverse brains.
For and Against advice like this:
"You must create content even if you aren't excited by the idea."
"Don't create content if you're not feeling it."
Isn't helpful and often brings up feelings of failure and inadequacy.
It's time to stop listening to the same old business "rules" and figure out what works for you.
In this episode, we chat about:
✨ What the term neurodiverse means
✨ How to navigate online advice as a neurodiverse person
✨ Productivity tips that take into account conditions like ADHD and anxiety
✨ How to create a content marketing strategy for your unique brain
✨ Why you're not failing if you do things differently than you're "supposed to"
Claire is all about helping neurodiverse online entrepreneurs absolutely nail their content marketing in a way that is fun for them to create, works with their brains, and strategically sells their offers without being manipulative or gross.

Being an introvert, empath, or HSP isn't a weakness or a challenge to overcome.
You can honour your ways of being and show up, serve and sell in an aligned and profitable way.
In this episode, we chat about:

✨ Why traditional business practices don't support neurodiverse individuals
✨ Navigating the online business space as an introvert
✨ Different tactics and strategies that support your energy
✨ How to take big actions from a place of safety and compassion
✨ Why your differences are your greatest strengths

What does an aligned and profitable business look like for you? Take the quiz.
I want to discuss a hot topic: hiring a team.
And why this isn't always the right solution for creatives, founders and small business owners.
I've hinted in previous episodes that I let my team go in August last year, and many of you had questions.
So today, on the show, I explain why I hired a team in the first place and how I came to realise that I'd rather remain a solopreneur.
I also share a series of questions you can ask yourself to determine what type of support your business needs, from processes to software to humans and how to ensure the support you get is profitable and sustainable.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a select few entrepreneurs and online business owners rise to fame, wealth and success nearly overnight.
And now, just as quickly, they’re closing their businesses for good.
In today’s episode, I want to answer the question we’re all asking each other in the DMs: “Why are well-known entrepreneurs quitting?” And “what does that mean for the rest of us?”
Short answer: they’re quitting because they're burnt out.
The long answer is sadder and more complicated.
At the end of the episode, I also share questions you can ask yourself to understand what type of success, wealth and fame you want so that you can work towards a more sustainable business.

I’ve been recovering from creative burnout for the past 5-6 months.
And I think it's time we talk about the rate that business owners, creators and founders experience burnout.
Nearly 50% of the workforce is currently experiencing burnout, and I'm sure this rate is higher for online businesses.
Creative burnout isn’t a personal failing.
It’s a sign that there is a mismatch between your responsibilities and the resources you have available to do the work.
That's why I decided to share my burnout journey and the five actions I've taken to prevent future burnout.

Email is finally 'cool' again.
As we see more and more business owners add email marketing to their sales strategy, it's important to note that email never really went out of fashion.
It's always had a better conversion rate than social media, and it has been the preferred choice for many to build long-lasting relationships with their community.
And now, with reach and conversion rates declining on social media, there's never been a better time to create an email strategy ready for your next launch.
Want to enjoy the benefits of email marketing? Listen to my conversation with strategic copywriter Brenna McGowan.
In this episode, we chat about:
✨ Email marketing defined in simple terms
✨ Why email is such a powerful sales and marketing channel
✨ How to nurture your audience with regular emails
✨ What to include in your emails to build the know, like and trust factor
✨ Different ways you can use email if you're not a word person
Brenna McGowan is a strategic copywriter, marketing consultant and launch pro. She believes that hustle-based, high-pressure program launches don’t serve you or your customers. Instead, she helps you leverage pre-launch content to show your customers empathy, credibility, authority, and personality—so you can launch with confidence, less stress, and more sales.

Over the last 12 months, I've found myself resisting the always-promoting-an-offer energy that is encouraged in the online space.
And as a result, I've been making some changes.
I've retired my entire offer suite so I can serve my clients with one signature offer.
I've created my own 6 weeks on, and 6 weeks off promotional calendar, so I show up and sell in a way that honours my energy and ways of being.
And I've reassessed how I create deadlines and define goals in my business with my nervous system in mind.
The result?
I've never felt more aligned with my mission or at ease in my business on the daily.
If you want to redefine how you show up, serve and sell in your business, this is the episode for you.
I'm walking you through why I made changes, how I did it and how I felt along the way.

Market research isn’t only about validating your offer.
It's played a huge role in the success of my business because it has allowed me to build deep relationships with my dream clients and has provided me with quantitative and qualitative data that I can use to inform my decisions and strategies.
But the real reason I’m a market research advocate is that the process allows me to invite my community to be co-creators of my offers and help me deliver something that is going to serve them in the best way possible.

Marketing and sales strategies won't make a difference if your offer isn't profitable in the first place.
I've grown my profitable business because I've taken the time to create my unique, money-generating offer and confirm it's what my clients want before investing in sales and marketing tactics.
But there was a time I didn't do this, which is why I know it's so important.
I still remember when I launched my first 6-month coaching program, and it didn't sell one single spot.
At the time, I didn't fully understand why - even though I have a background in business, sales and marketing.
But now it's so obvious. I didn't create an offer worth investing in.
That's why today on the show, I want to share with you the four main mistakes I made when I created my first offer.
These are the same mistakes I see many of my clients and community making too.
Now you know, you can make a few tweaks and create your first sold-out offer.

A lot of offer advice is outdated and binary and doesn't consider lived experiences, skill sets, expertise and knowledge.
That's why today on the show, I'm sharing the 5 red flags I currently see online when it comes to creating, marketing and selling your offers.
Successful businesses are built around unique and money-generating offers, so it's important you get advice from the right people who have your best interests in mind.
My hope by sharing these common red flags is that it will support you to dive deeper into the needs, challenges and opportunities of your business and trust that you know what's best for you.
So if advice feels invalidated or not applicable to you, you don't feel pressured to act on it.
If you're in the process of creating or marketing your offerings, these are the red flags you should be aware of:
Raising your prices (without any justification)
Investing in complex marketing strategies
Teaching before you've mastered your craft
Selling multiple offers at once
Creating a 'makes sense' offer
Listen to this episode for my detailed advice.

Everyone is a salesperson.
You're selling when you try to convince your partner to eat at the new steak house on Friday instead of your regular go-to Mexican restaurant.
When you suggest to your best friend to shop her wardrobe before buying another dress, she'll only wear it to an event once that's selling.
And when you're inviting your dream clients to work, buy and spend time with you, that's selling too.
A modern salesperson spends most of her days persuading, influencing and convincing others to invest money, spread ideas and part with resources.
Selling isn't just about getting cash. It's about moving people and helping them act.
If you want to fulfil your purpose, have a successful business, and do good for your community. You need to embrace this new definition of selling.
If you want to learn how to create your ethical sales strategy, listen to my conversation with my good friend and sales coach, Elena Ciccotelli.
In this episode, we chat about:
✨ What a sales strategy is and isn't
✨ Why you feel icky when you sell (and what to do instead)
✨ 5 questions to ask before creating your strategy
✨ How to use the buyer trigger technique in your sales copy
✨ Why having a sales strategy is key to selling your offers on repeat
Elena Ciccotelli, a Jersey girl working in Silicon Valley tech (aka The Silicon Valley Sales Coach) is an entrepreneur who helps service-based solopreneurs sign new B2B clients with solid systems and a pop of personality.
Elena’s sales coaching business was born out of the intense desire to share what she's learned during her extensive sales career at Lyft, over 10 years of bootstrapping a 6-figure personal training company, and her experience building a successful podcast from zero with other service-based solopreneurs.

Having a functional, accessible, and profitable website is essential for online businesses.
Nothing is worse than landing on a website and being bombarded with pop-ups.
Scrolling up and down, trying to find the 'buy now' button.
Closing the chat box on every page.
And getting 'Whoops' errors.
If you're not making sales, it may be because your website doesn't have a clear customer journey.

The most damaging thing you can do for your business is posting and then ghosting.
Many of my coaching clients are surprised by this because we’re being told by business coaches and social media strategists that we need to be posting every.single.day to attract clients and make sales.
You didn’t start your business to be part of the content mill. You built a business to serve your clients, and you can’t do that if you’re not having conversations with them and inviting them to work with you.
Many of my clients and community are prioritising content creation over every other activity. And this is one of the reasons why they aren’t seeing the income and client growth they expected.
Often it isn’t the content they are creating but what they are (or aren’t doing) once it’s created.
If you don’t have the time, energy and creativity to invest in creating new content this week (or any day for that matter), here’s what you can do instead:
Repurpose well-performing content
Invite people to work with you in the DMS
Prioritise building your visibility
Simplify your content creation process
Stop creating and consuming, aka take a break

I believe there is value in sharing, talking and discussing the not so warm and fuzzy things that have been coming up for me over the past few months.
Something I've accepted recently is that I can't continue to sit back and expect others to lead the changes I want to see in the online business space.
We all have the opportunity to change the narrative. Right now, I'm feeling called to say something publicly (In an educational + supportive way because no one likes a negative Nancy).
So today on the show, I’ll be sharing the 5 things that are frustrating me about the online business space right now and what I’m doing about it:
Episode 67: 5 ethical ways to market your business in 2022
Episode 49: Let’s talk about money

Forget about growing your following; focus on building your community instead.
Surrounding yourself with like-minded people who have the same values, desires and goals as you is smart business.
It allows you to lead with connection and create aligned offers that serve your dream clients.
So stop posting and ghosting and start using social media like the powerful two-way conversation starter it is.
Yes, it will need more time and creativity than perhaps you’re giving right now, but the rewards for both you and your dream clients are worth the energy.
If you want to learn how to create and grow your online community, listen to my conversation with Brooke Vulinovich.

What does an aligned and profitable business look like for you? Take the quiz. https://rachelkurzyp.com.au/quiz
Today I'm on the show addressing a growing trend in the online space: Coach Hopping.
Coach hopping is a term I’m using to describe the act of working with a coach for a few months and then working with another coach for a few months before moving onto another.
And being in a continuous cycle of going through different coaching programs because you believe that this next program or coach will be the one to get you more cash, clients and opportunities.
I'm speaking to the role of Coaches in our business, why Coach Hopping is happening, the negative effect it is having on your business and how to break the cycle.
I know many of you are going to feel called in by this topic, and that's OK.
Know you're aware, you can make changes in your business that will set you up for long-term success.

The biggest marketing misconception I'm seeing right now.
Over the past month, I've been having conversations with my clients + community about how they can meaningfully invite clients to work with them online.
Because the focus right now seems to be coming up with the next trending Reel idea and becoming Insta famous.
And trying to condense their knowledge, skills and lived experiences into a 15-second Reel to get in front of their audience and sell feels nearly impossible (because it is!).
Focusing on trending ideas isn't a good use of your time, energy, and creativity. And it definitely won't get you more clients and sales.
Here's why: Your clients need to connect deeply with you and your work before they will work with you.
This is why you need to be telling nuanced stories in your marketing.
Today on the show, I’m sharing the 3 elements you need to create a story that sells AND how to use storytelling in your marketing.

There’s a lot of pressure right now to stand out especially online as more and more businesses are using social media to connect with their dream clients.
And while the online space feels really noisy, I’m not worried and you shouldn’t be either.
Because while other businesses are competing over income claims, sharing the same-outdated content, and rebranding to look like a magazine cover, you have the opportunity to meet your clients where they’re at.
Then show them that you’re the person who sees their humanity and can get them the business results they desire.
It’s never been easier to stand out online for all the right reasons.
If you’re ready to tell your dream clients that you care and are doing things differently, this episode is for you.
I’m sharing what key messages are and my three-step process for creating them, so you can clearly and confidently share who you are, what you do and how you support your dream clients.

Are you being perceived as the inclusive business you want to be and feel you are?
Most business owners are striving to create inclusive, accessible and brave spaces online.
They have DEI statements, acknowledgements to the country and openly share their values.
But their everyday language choices aren’t reflective of this work.
Our words have the power to start conversations with our dream clients and end them.
Today on the show, I'm sharing 5 words or phrases that I see every day in the online business space that are unethical, culturally inappropriate, or problematic in some way. I explain why they are problematic and what you can say instead.

To-do list got you feeling overwhelmed and uninspired?
I woke up on Monday with a bad case of the lockdown blues. I looked at my to-do list and wanted to stay in bed all day.
I don’t have a huge to-do list these days thanks to my business model, systems and processes and my amazing team.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t still need to get stuff done and prioritise my time, energy and creativity on tasks that serve me and my business today and into the future.
That’s why today on the show, I'm sharing the exercise I use to prioritise my to-do list every day BUT especially on days when starting something feels hard and it’s easy to tell myself that I can do it later.

This is why I’m such a huge advocate for having a content plan.
Many of you may not know this, but when I first started my business nearly 11 years ago I didn’t have any plans. I was legit winging it. And I did this for the first 3-4 years.
It worked for a time, but when I wanted to transition my business to online and support small businesses through online courses and programs, I realised pretty quickly that I needed a content strategy.
So you know what I did? Absolutely nothing.
It took me longer than it should have to realise I was standing in my own way due to fear and expecting others to do the hard work for me.
Whether your biggest struggle right now is showing up, knowing what content your clients are craving, finding time to create content, or not feeling comfortable to invite clients to work with you, you need a content plan.
You can’t run a successful online business without it. It acts as a compass and blueprint for everything you do.

It’s a well-known fact that I’m not a fan of jumping on the latest marketing trends or adding new channels to my content strategy if I don’t think it will serve my business.
I took my time creating a Reels strategy that works for my business - and this has paid off.
My Reels has helped me to gain followers, email subscribers, clients, sales and other opportunities.
That's why today on the show, I'm sharing the strategic thinking that went behind my most successful Reel that has over 9,000 views.
This might not seem high to some but remember: going viral is irrelevant if you’re not becoming known for the right thing and you don’t have a way to move your followers from your Reel and into your community.
So if you’re interested in incorporating Reels into your content marketing strategy, then this episode is for you.

Not all leaders are extroverts and speak really fast.
Each of us can sell, serve and teach from a place that feels good.
You just need to identify that place first.
And I think a great place to start is to identify your leadership style so you can play to your strengths and find ways to overcome areas that don’t come naturally to you.
That’s why today on the show, I’m sharing the three leadership styles with you - The Storyteller, The Teacher and The Facilitator.
My hope is that by the end of this episode you will feel more confident stepping into the role of a leader in your community and see that personality traits such as being outspoken or funny aren’t a prerequisite of a great leader.

How do you write content for your business so quickly?
I get asked this question all the time by my clients.
And while I’d love to pretend I can whip up a scroll stopping post in 60-seconds flat on demand, this just isn’t the case.
Some days everything flows and others I have to follow my 5-step writing process to the letter to ensure my content is clear, concise and actionable.
That’s why today on the show, I’m sharing the five stages of writing anything because writing is a process and it can be learnt.
If you follow the process you will be able to create content that attracts your dream clients and sells your services with ease in half the time.
Imagine what you could do with this additional time? Build deep relationships with your community, update your content marketing strategy, work on passion projects, the options are endless.

Are income-focused conversations on IG affecting our money mindset?
I think it’s great that womxn are starting to have conversations about personal wealth and their finances.
Often we’ve given our financial power over to others in our lives or not been able to accumulate personal wealth.
But I do think the constant talk of income without context is having an affect on our mindset whether we want to admit it or not.
I know it's affected mine.
So today on the show, I'm sharing how I'm working through my money mindsets AND three questions you can ask yourself if you want to start working through yours.

Episode 4: How to Show Up Before You Feel Ready
What is bro-marketing?
I recently attended a Bro Marketing Overthrow workshop by Dr Michelle Mazur (author of 3 Word Rebellion - which I love too!).
And I loved it because Michelle was able to clearly articulate what I've been thinking for years.
Thanks to her extensive research, I'm now finally able to say that I dislike bro-marketing so much because it removes our agency by bypassing the decision-making process.
I know you're going to appreciate her bro-marketing definition that I share in today's episode too.
It's thanks to thought leaders like Michelle that the online business space finally has the information we need to start calling out bro-marketing.
That's why today on the show, I'm sharing what it is, how to spot it in the online space, and how you can assess your own business to ensure you’re not unknowingly using any bro marketing tactics.
If you've been wondering what this term means, this is the episode for you.

Are some marketing tactics unethical?
I think we can all agree that bro marketing strategies like creating fake urgency and the manifest money mindset are unethical.
I believe things become greyer when we look at specific marketing tactics on their own.
That’s why today on the show, I’m looking at 4 specific marketing tactics that have been criticised this year: Charm pricing, Countdown timers, Bonuses and Post-it note walls.
If you’ve been wondering what they are, how they are used, and what you need to consider before implementing them in your business, then this episode is for you.

Nothing gets me more fired up than when I hear the phrase…
"You need to be on, [ insert marketing, fad, platform, channel ], to be successful in business."
This phrase completely misses the point and is misleading for most business owners.
It doesn't matter what platform or channel you're on if you don't have the fundamental strategies and frameworks in place to help you get in front of your followers and convert them into clients.
Unlike new platforms, the business strategies I’m going to share with you today in this week's episode will support your business at 100 followers and 5,000 followers AND $1k months and $5k months.
They will provide the solid foundation you need to build an unshakeable and unstoppable business.

Do you know who your dream clients are?
The number one reason why people choose to work with me in my coaching program The Creative Freedom Method is because they are done working with b-grade clients.

If you’re nodding along to this, I’m here to tell you that it’s time you waved goodbye to b-grade clients and get clear on who your dream clients are.
There’s a lot of bad advice when it comes to identifying your dream clients.
So in today's episode, I’m going to dispel 2 myths that I see people buying into every day AND 3 types of clients that you need to avoid at all costs.

Don’t listen to the likes of Gary Vee who says you should create new content every day.
In today’s episode, I’m addressing the myth that you can’t reuse and repurpose your content. The pressure we put on ourselves to come up with new ideas on the daily is one of the biggest reasons why my clients and community have trouble posting consistently.
If you’ve been told that you can’t: repost high-performing IG posts; repurpose old blog posts into emails; turn live launch videos into evergreen webinars, and republish highly-viewed podcast episodes, I’m here to tell you that you can!
I’ll show you how I reuse and repurpose my content so that it remains relevant and continues adding value for my community. You can then apply my content marketing strategies to your own business.
