We finally open the gates that will lead us to Helheim. Senua has some quite personal visions that end up affecting her mental health. Not that her mental health was doing any good before this. We have to go through a pretty cool section where we encounter a new way to solve puzzles. Pieces of the environment are missing and if we look at it from the right angle we can kinda piece it back together. Pretty cool!
We also end up having a meeting with Hela herself. It doesn't end well.
I've been kinda slow with these episodes lately. Streaming has kinda taken priority but I'll try and upload these last let's play episodes quite steadily now. As I've mentioned before I'm gonna stop doing let's plays on a regular basis and focus on streaming whenever I can instead. I'll probably do a small series here and there as well as some first impressions videos.

So seems like this will be my last episode of Control. Most of my episodes going forward has some issue where they start lagging out and having like 1FPS halfway through. I always control check any episodes I record to see if they're fine but apparently I haven't been thorough enough with this one. Instead of doing a 10 episode skip I'll just end it here.
I'm also gonna stop posting let's play in general quite soon. I'll finish posting up my episodes of A Plague Tale: Innocence and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice but after those are up this endeavor has come to an end. It's been an enriching experience and one that I've used as a bit of a springboard to start streaming. My energy will be spent there instead.
Now that I've felt that thrill of engaging with viewers the format of recorded let's plays don't appeal to much to me anymore. And if I can't enjoy making the content then I won't be able to create quality content and in that case it's best to just not create that content at all.
I might still do some videos from time to time as first impressions and such. Maybe a mini series here and there if I find a game I might really enjoy.
Anyways, just a bit of rambling and visualization of the way forward.

We're back at the place all of this began. Back at the De Rune estate. Back home. This place has turned into a total hellscape. The rats has really gone to town and made this place their own now. Their gooey nests are everywhere and you can barely walk an inch without stumbling upon these little bastards.
Amicia also has a bit of a rough moment here when she finds the body of her deceased father. He's in the same exact spot as where we saw the inquisitor execute him and the rats almost seem to revere him in a way. This moment doesn't last for long though as we're suddenly interrupted by... RATNADOES?!?!?!?

We make it through Valravns domain and finally get to face him as a boss. This is the toughest fight I've been through yet in this game. He's not called the Master of Illusions for nothing. He disappears, spawns enemies, goes invincible and he's fast as shit. I had to be in 100% concentration mode to make it through this one.
We've now taken down both of the bosses we needed to be able to open the gate and get on to the golden bridge. I guess Hel is next!

Seems like the game is opening up a bit more now that we found the phone. We have the keycard which allows us to open new doors in the Old House and we can even use the Control Point to change and upgrade our gun. Maybe we could do that before as well but I just didn't notice.
After some chit chat it's time to head down into a new area of the Old House. The Maintenance section is next. Apparently this place is powered by this huge nuclear reactor. That's safe I guess.
We also discover a new object of power thanks to my need to go exploring. This one seems like it could have been easily missed.

We done found the book! Now we just need to get it back to Lucas so he can help Hugo. That will of course be easier said than done when the Grand Inquisitor suddenly arrives with his soldiers in tow. There's nothing else to do but run.
And I guess Rodric is our friend now! We bring him back to the castle and he even opens up some new places for us to explore. Exploration doesn't last for long though when Hugo suddenly has another seizure. A seizure that forces us to go back to where all of this began. The De Rune estate.

We continue our journey through Valravns domain. Where Surtr used fire and terror to try and scare us Valravn is more of a trickster. He tries to fool us with illusions and tricks. These puzzles where we need to get an area to change are pretty cool for sure.
Combat is becoming quite hard with the amount of enemies they're throwing at us. It's quite important to watch your step as well seeing as you can get cornered and stuck with no means of escape. I've had a few close calls due to this.

After having gotten our ass beat by Tommasi in the last episode we just straight back into that boss fight. I'm glad not all the Hiss corrupted soldiers are corrupted to this level because this guy is a real pain. We have to use the full extent of our arsenal to take this guy down.
We do also reach the next Object of Power, the red phone. This phone let's us talk to the "board" who resides in the Astral Plane. The conversations with the board are really awesome. They're so damn mysterious and weird. Especially seeing as they kinda mean different things depending on which word you choose to take from it.
The mystery thickens.

We make our way through the library and eventually stumble upon the Grand Inquisitor himself. What an gross old man this guy is. He's looking for the same book we are and he's got far better tools to find it than we have. Still, this young lady has some tricks up her sleeves so she'll do alright. Let's hope.
We meet a new character who helps us on our way as well. Rodric is the son of the blacksmith who helped seal the secret part of the library in. The Grand Inquisitor is sure he's the key to open the door. Let's find out if he is.

We encounter our first boss, Surtr the Fire giant! This guy both is badass and looks badass. The combat of this game really shines during this boss fight. It's very cinematic with no UI or nothing and I love that. The enemies attacks are quite telegraphed so they're not that hard to dodge. It might be harder for someone not used to action adventure games, like me who has played a whole bunch of Dark Souls.
We get a whole sequence where Senua is just talking to herself in this episode as well. She keeps on talking about some kind of darkness inside of her that I'm sure we're gonna learn all about by the end of this game.

We get our hands on our first Object of Power since the Director's Gun or whatever that was called.
Enjoy the episode! It's a floppy disc and for some reason this floppy disc is able to give us telekinetic powers. That's kinda weird but I'm not gonna argue. We can throw stuff around now and it's really effective against enemies as well!
I also have to mention that there's a bit of a skip from the last episode unto this one. The last episode had some major FPS issues so I decided to just drop it instead of trying to fix it. It was most likely beyond saving anyways. We fought some enemies, read some notes and traversed the Old House but didn't really progress the story much in that episode anyways so that was kinda lucky.

Amicia continues to traverse the city all by her lonesome. That wouldn't be to bad if all the citizens weren't dead and lying around in the streets. The things this poor girl has had to witness on her journey...
We do finally make it to the library as well! The new item we got in the last episode was quite helpful in getting us there and I'm sure it will be helpful inside as well. Seems like the inquisition has managed to keep the rats out so far but knowing this game I'm sure they'll show up at some point. They always do.

In this episode we delve into the domain of Surtr, the fire giant. We have to find this guy and we have to kill him. Something tells me the search for Surtr isn't gonna be an easy one. Thats quickly confirmed when the whole world is suddenly set on fire around us. Several times.
I do really like these "story stones" that I've been calling them. I guess rune stones or something would be a better term. They don't seem to directly tie into the overall story but instead to fill in lore about this universe which is heavily based on Norse mythology. The story stones in this chapter tells of Muspell, the world of the fire giants which is pretty cool. I've always digged Norse mythology so it's nice to get a refill on all of this.

We delve deeper into the Old House. This game is throwing notes about us to fill us up with lore. They're all quite interesting to read as well which I like. They do a good job of giving us a few answers here and there while simultaneously building up the mystery.
We find something call a Control Point in this episode. We had to fight a pretty awesome battle to take it over and it rewarded us with a pretty cool cutscene. Apparently locations like these allow us to fast travel and level up different kinds of abilities and upgrade or change our gun. This thing is actually heavily customizable it seems.

Amicia is all alone in this huge plague ridden city. Luckily she's got me behind the controller cause this place is swarming with both rats and guards. Amicia shows that she's more than capable to handle things on her own though. She's way more of a badass than she thinks. You wouldn't get my ass even a mile close to that city...
I also just noticed that in all three of my let's play series that are running right now we're playing as a female protagonist. I find that awesome.
