The story of a Punjabi muslim soldier Bhader Khan, who survived 4 years as a POW during WW1 only to die on 6th January, 1919, in Copenhagen, Denmark – some 3,216 miles away from his village, “DHIOT”, near Rawalpindi then part of pre-partition, colonial INDIA and now in Pakistan. 103 years ago, Bhader Khan's burial was the first islamic burial in Denmark.
The Bucha events are at lightning speed being exploited for yet another dangerous escalation of the war in Ukraine. Those who continue to escalate the conflict will have a great share of responsibility for similar tragedies in the time to come.
