Today's episode is a solo chat - a little dive into my journey struggling with my relationship with food in the past and how I later transitioned to being able to compete. How I support my clients with their relationship with food and how you can approach this if this is something you are struggling with.
I work with lots of girls who have come from previous coaches - either having had bad experiences of 'prep' coaching or having come from more of a lifestyle coaching approach. Tarnya and I have been working together for the past 6 months and have gone through a long term building/off season phase - moving into a more structured approach and transitioning into a more advanced style of coaching and approach. We talk through her journey getting into training and then starting to take things more seriously, how she has found it and what her goals are moving forwards with working towards potentially stepping on stage in the future!
A solo episode talking through how to maintain a good relationship with food especially whilst pursuing a physique based goal!
-My role as a coach
-Putting the groundwork in
-Most of the time you don't need to be extreme
-What to do if you find your relationship with food suffering
I am currently in my off season (approx 30 lbs up from when I competed) and wanted to talk through how to deal with weight gain and going through a building phase - both from a competing/BB and normal life perspective.
Hopefully this gives a bit of an insight- there is so much to be enjoyed in life away from dieting; I love my body both when competing and also in off season and I think there is a lot to be taken and gained from spending time away from dieting!
Hope you enjoy x
In this episode I chat with one of my long term clients Tiff - we talk through her experience working in professional sport, her training towards open water swimming and also her experience with amenorrhea and gaining back her cycle.
In this episode I breakdown the process of reverse dieting..
-What is it?
-Adaptations from dieting
-How building muscle helps
-How reverse dieting can lead to better long term results
-Setting yourself up for a successful diet
-Reverse dieting and fat gain
This is a sit down solo chat talking through how to optimise building muscle and get the most from the process.

We chat about how to get to this point and the phases we went through.
Steph is a doctor specialising in palliative care, who also competes as a bodybuilder and helps others - @theproductivitydoctor - take control of their lives and time.

Join my client Beth and I as we talk through her fitness journey over the past few years. We talk through how she overcame obstacles with building up her food and muscle, the opinions of others, changing her mindset and more!
Beth and I have been working together for a few months now. Coming from a place of under fuelling, despite training for years and never really seeing the progress she wanted. 4 Months down the line she is eating over 1000 calories more per day, is the strongest she has ever been and has gone from feeling nervous about eating more to confident and achieving the results she has wanted for so long!
My wonderful client Laura talks through her journey, having spend the majority of her teens following some sort of diet, yo-yo ing back and forwards and having to go to huge extremes with her approach.. to losing a stone in 3 months. Her progress has been nothing short of incredible; along with her mindset shift!
It's how you respond to failure that matters. All about the growth vs fixed mindset.. How you can overcome your own mental barriers and push yourself to achieve the goals you want.
Danni recently made the decision to stop competing.. we talk about how she has made the transition away and focussing on health, wellbeing and performance over having a specific aesthetic goal. Tips on how to manage this, the mentality around it and more.

A deep dive into the menstrual cycle.. how this works, the hormones involved and also the affect that the different stages can have on your training, nutrition and general wellbeing. It can be massively helpful having an understanding of this and also tracking your own cycle to be able to apply this to you as an individual!
Beth has been a part of the LWL team for almost two years. She was lacking confidence, direction and we had just gone in to a national lockdown.. She lost 2 stone, went through a complete lifestyle transformation and recently took part in an underwear shoot. Listen to find out how Beth achieved more than she ever believed possible!

Alycia and I met when she had never weight trained, had next to no knowledge on nutrition and training and had just come away from a period of illness. We talk through her journey from a client who just wanted to feel good for her holiday.. transitioning to being an incredible coach and achieving more than she ever though possible.
I approached Ben (@benmarkphoto) back in 2018 and ended up in a private villa in Portugal on a 4 day shoot..
