What should an LGBTQ working professional take note of, balancing personal identity and career development? Andrew and I dived into all these issues, and it is definitely worth your 30mins! Guest - Andrew McGeeHanDirector at Trident Training and ConsultingAndrew McGeehan has been leading trainings and workshops and writing and developing policies for the past 10 years. Andrew discovered his passion for diversity & inclusion issues during his undergraduate life, where he was exposed to different ideas about identity, power, and inclusion.

A typical career pathway would be to do what you have studied, and just climbed through and up the ladder. For our guest - Willis, it was different. He took on the path of becoming a Financial Planner, instead of a chemist or lab technician. He read books, which was something he hated previously, because he knew he had to become better at this new craft. During Covid-19 in 2020, he trailblazed in creating financial advisory content on Tiktok, perhaps the first few in Singapore. Now, he has almost 14k followers and more than 320k 'Likes'. He created a path less travelled for himself and many financial planners.

Life constantly gives us lessons to learn through struggles and failures. Debbie, our guest in this episode, went through all of these. She graduated with a Mass Communication diploma but wasn’t able to pursue radio as a career. Therefore, she pivoted to be an educator. Little did she know that she would experience one of the most challenging moments in her life.

But life will also show you a different yet rewarding path, at the most critical juncture. She went full circle and is back to her favourite profession - marketing. Jump in to hear her story, her messy middle, her heroine journey, which I think is also the story for many of us.
