Mike & Patrick from kettleflower break down the process of making "In the Roots" from the EP At Sundown in the Blackout (released March 3, 2021).  

Children were born and family members were lost to both members of kettleflower around the time of writing "In the Roots," a reflection on the ying/yang relationship between pain and love.  Patrick & Mike usually record remotely from their homes and piece songs together virtually;  "In the Roots" evolved over a 5-year period and included some studio recording.
