Ancient Feelings of Peace: Recent Episodes

Mark Laux

I’m Mark Laux, and this podcast is about what would it be like if your ego, what you think of as your identity, or personality, drifted off, and left you with only your original awareness. Have you ever tried to imagine who you would be without the history of who you think you are? What would it feel like not to have the worries you have now, the drama that makes up your so called life? Who are you when you are not living in fear? Who would you be if you were suddenly not who you think of as you? I know the answer to those questions, and I can assure you, what you’re left with is beyond words. It is an experience so profound that it redefines you and everything you think you know about the world you see. And the world you don’t see. During this podcast, you’ll need to set that history aside, put down those judgements, and approach what I’m leading you to with a very open mind. When I first experienced the Love of God, and Heaven, my initial response was to try to find a word to describe what I was experiencing. The word that came to me was Joy. And the moment that word popped into my mind, the experience ended, and I was back here, in a body, with my ego identity still intact. But over the years I have taught myself to set aside my judgements, and allow the God-Love experience to come back. It always happens when I am most at peace. And it stays with me as long as I don’t try to judge it, name it, or control it. If you tune into this podcast, over time, I will do my best to share with you the meditations that I have used to bring about those moments of pure God-Love. I’ll let our Spirit self-speak and keep my ego out of the process as much as possible. Please subscribe, and leave a review wherever you get your podcasts so others can find it. Thank you for listening.

Ancient Feelings of Peace
Truth be told, nothing meaningless can exist. That isn’t to say that we cannot think we see, or know things that are not true. It is only to say that truth, and reality are both real, but reality for us as ego maniacs living in a fearful world only seems real, where it is actually false.

I’m not one to tell you not to believe your own eyes, or that nothing you think you see is real so ignore it. But I am telling you that what you see isn’t what you think it is. I have been blessed with moments in Heaven, and those moments have opened my Christ eyes, and have shown me the Truth about who I am, who you are, and who God is.

This podcast is about seeing only the past, and being completely caught up with past thoughts, and ideas.

Our old thoughts and ideas about the past are difficult to change, because everything we believe is embedded in those thoughts about time, and our day to day lives depend on our not accepting anything new about those ideas.

This podcast was written by me, Mark Laux, with guidance from A Course in Miracles and is based on Lessons 7-9 “I see only the past”, “My mind is preoccupied with past thoughts”, and “I see nothing as it is now.” (ACIM, W-9) (ACIM, W-8) (ACIM, W-7)

This Is A Meditation About Our Loss Of Peace

We never lose our peace of mind for the reasons we perceive, but instead, because we think we see something that isn’t there.

This meditation is another step on our journey, and this time, we are introducing the idea that what we see is not real.

Like the last meditation, this meditation is about our feelings, and what they might mean to us, and how those thoughts and feelings are reflected in our actions, and more importantly, in how we see the world and ourselves.
This podcast was written by me, Mark Laux, with guidance from A Course in Miracles and is based on Lesson 5 “I am never upset for the reason I think.”

(ACIM, W-5). Follow the link to learn more.

Yet Another Meditation About Meaning

My thoughts do not mean anything. They are like the things I see in the world around me.

This meditation is an extension of the last meditation, where we looked at the world around us, and introduced ourselves to the idea that we do not understand anything we see, and that there is great peace in realizing that we have placed our own historic ideas onto the world, and that projection doesn't belong there.

Our minds are always thinking, and we are processing those thoughts, judging them, deciding if they are good thoughts or bad thoughts, and to our ego minds, this is only natural.

**With this meditation, we will start the process to do our best to let our thoughts slip past us without any judgments.

I have given everything I see in my world all the meaning that it has for me.

And, I do not understand anything I see.

Welcome back to my podcast and our quest to share Ancient Feelings of Peace. Know that this is one place without judgement, and offering only Love.

This meditation is an extension of the last meditation, where we looked at the world around us, and introduced ourselves to the idea that nothing means anything. At least not what we think it means.

What stands between us and our remembrance of the Ancient Feeling of Peace is our own judgments of the things we see in the world. This can be people, things, places, and even stuff we make up. In actuality, everything is made up, but I don’t want us to get ahead of ourselves. We all see the world around us, and we all see it differently because we attach our own thoughts, judgements and ideas about the world, and project what we see, outward.

So, in this meditation, we will spend some time getting beyond our own judgements, and allow ourselves to remain as indiscriminate as possible about what our world looks like to ourselves. In God-Love reality, nothing we see, feel, or think we understand here has any meaning at all other than the meaning we give it.

My own experiences in Heaven have taught me that there is great joy in the admission that we were wrong to judge, and we didn’t understand what we were looking at in the first place.

But it takes some patience and guidance to let go of our own judgments about what we think we understand about the world we think we see. Which is what we are doing here.

Something happened that I cannot explain perfectly because it is beyond words. If I could, I would touch your hand and my experience would flow from me to you and you would suddenly remember, like I did, what Jesus tried to explain while he was here on earth talking to his followers. It’s a feeling wrapped in a memory, and beyond that it is nearly impossible to describe. Perhaps that’s why we struggle with it even today.

This podcast will be set up as meditations.

Each will start with a topic or an idea, and then we will allow the Holiness of God-Love thought to guide us. Therefore, it is best that you listen to these meditations in a quiet place, where you can sit and listen uninterrupted. I do not recommend listening while driving, or working out, or cleaning around the house. Each will be kept to between 10 and 15 minutes, and then there will be a short musical ending that will allow you to go more deeply into your own awareness and allow God-Love to grow within you.

A Meditation About Meaning

Nothing I see means anything. From A Course in Miracles.

Welcome back to my podcast and our quest to share Ancient Feelings of Peace. Know that this is one place without judgement, and offering only Love.

It is best that you listen to this meditation in a quiet place, where you can sit and hear the message uninterrupted. I do not recommend listening while driving, working out, or cleaning around the house because periodically you will be asked to sit with your eyes closed.

To reach that ancient experience of peace, it is essential that we take away anything that stands in between us and changing our mind about who we are, what we are, and how see the world around us.

We all see a world. The ego world is somewhat of a shared reality, but it is also a reality that our personal histories have added meaning to. We tell the world we see what we want it to be for us. In this way, what we see is merely a projection of what is in our mind.

In this meditation, we will take the first step towards letting go of the history we place on the things we see. It is the first step in releasing judgements and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead, where we step back, and follow.

*It is the perfect Love of God.
