The Ramones are an iconic punk band on everyone’s playlist. From U2 to Pearl Jam, there isn’t an artist on the planet that doesn’t credit The Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers. Shockingly, the band wasn’t supported by MTV or mainstream radio. I found out exactly why after talking with Monte A. Melnick, The Ramones tour manager from start to finish. Do you know the name of the famous author who is a huge fan of the band and name checks the legendary punk band in many of his novels? We cover this as well. We also discussed The Ramones final show in Hollywood, Calif., on Aug. 6, 1996. and how they reacted with each other. It’s shocking that a band who wrote legendary pop radio songs never found an ounce of support from the mainstream. But maybe, just maybe that’s why The Ramones won’t go away. Mike 13 was discovered/signed by LL Cool J after slipping him a demo while waiting his table at a Long Island diner. Shortly after, he's DJ Premier's right hand man playing sessions for everyone from Eminem to Wyclef Jean to DJ Khaled. Through Premier, he becomes the live guitar player for Joe Budden and Nas. While on tour, he meets Pauley Perrette (played Abby on NCIS), and ends up composing music for her show, NCIS (amongst others), producing a huge single for DMC (RUN DMC) feat. Pauley.
Jay Jay French is a guitarist, manager, record producer and founding member of the heavy metal band Twisted Sister.
