Since 2007, Wu Kang Ren has been an active actor in many fields, including TV dramas, movies, music videos, advertisements, and micromovies such as Abang Adik(富都青年), A Touch of Green(一把青) and The World Between Us(我們與惡的距離), Seqalu: Formosa 1867 (斯卡羅), and Light the Night (華燈初上). 今天的字彙是數位游牧
Today's vocabulary is "digital nomad"
Jīntiān de zìyǔ shì shùwèi yóumù.

數位游牧的定義:透過網路來辦公，以支持生活和旅行的一種生活方式。 The definition of Digital Nomad: A lifestyle where people use the internet to work, supporting a life that combines work and travel. or People who are location independent and use technology to perform their job
Shùwèi Yóumù de dìngyì: tòuguò wǎnglù lái bàngōng, yǐ zhīchí shēnghuó hé lǚxíng de yī zhǒng shēnghuó fāngshì.

人們可以不用在特定辦公室工作，可以自己選擇辦公的地方。可以是家裡、不同城鎮、甚至不同國家。有些人選擇在人煙較少的鄉村工作，有人選擇每個月在不同國家工作。 People can choose where to work without the need for a specific office. This can be at home, in different towns, or even different countries. Some people choose to work in less populated rural areas, while others opt for working in different countries every month.
Rénmen kěyǐ bùyòng zài tèdìng bàngōngshì gōngzuò, kěyǐ zìjǐ xuǎnzé bàngōng de dìfāng. Kěyǐ shì jiālǐ, bùtóng chéngzhèn, shènzhì bùtóng guójiā. Yǒuxiē rén xuǎnzé zài rényān jiào shǎo de xiāngcūn gōngzuò, yǒurén xuǎnzé měi gè yuè zài bùtóng guójiā gōngzuò.

Zàijiā gōngzuò: Bùyòng qù bàngōngshì, zài jiālǐ wánchéng gōngsī jiāodài de gōngzuò.

遠距工作/遠端工作:同上，不用去辦公室，在任何地方如海邊、咖啡廳等地方完成工作
Remote work: Same as above, not going to the office, and working from anywhere such as the beach, cafes, etc.
Yuǎnjù gōngzuò/yuǎnduān gōngzuò: Tóng shàng, bùyòng qù bàngōngshì, zài rènhé dìfāng rú hǎibiān, kāfēi tīng děng dìfāng wánchéng gōngzuò.

混和模式:目前一些公司有採取的方式，如每週三天進辦公室，剩下兩天遠距工作。或是每個月只需要進辦公室10天，剩下天數則遠距工作
Hybrid mode: Currently, some companies adopt a method where, for example, employees go to the office for three days a week and work remotely for the remaining two days. Or, they might require employees to come to the office for only 10 days a month, with the rest of the days being remote work.
Hùnhé móshì: Mùqián yīxiē gōngsī yǒu cǎiqǔ de fāngshì, rú měi zhōu sān tiān jìn bàngōngshì, shèngxià liǎng tiān yuǎnduān gōngzuò. Huò shì měi gè yuè zhǐ xūyào jìn bàngōngshì 10 tiān, shèngxià tiānshù zé yuǎnduān gōngzuò.

When it comes to well-known industries in Taiwan, many people's first impression would be semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, medicine, and machinery industries. However, some percentage of Taiwanese people are working in labor-intensive jobs in construction fields, and specific percentage of workers have been suffering physically and psychologically from long working hours and hazordous working environments with weak occuapation safety measures.

While the social status of construction workers in Taiwan has improved in recent years, there is still room for further progress in terms of improving working conditions and enhancing their social recognition. As of 30th of September, 2019, there are 475,467 registered workers in the construction industry.( more than 2 percent of Taiwan's population) according to the data of Construction Industry Council(Taiwan)

The writer, 林立青 (Línlì qīng), and the director,Fen Fen Cheng(鄭芬芬), noticed this situation and wrote this novel/filmmed this drama to convey the message to the public about the situation these workers are confronting with.

Light the Night 華燈初上(Huá dēng chū shàng) is a 2021 Taiwanese Netflix original series drama.

Season 1
On October 6, 1988, a group of photography club students found the body of an unidentified woman on the east slope of Jinan Mountain(雞南山) in Zhongshan District, Taipei City. After the police investigation, the deceased had a relic from the “Light”(光) Japanese-style bar in Tiaotong(條通) located in Taipei.
After a series of the police’s in-depth investigation, the past of incidents came into light. The hustle and bustle of Tiaotong culture, the love and hatred among the ladies who work in Light Bar, and the human ethics of joy and sorrow followed the truth of the female unidentified body.

Season 2
At the end of the second season of Light the Night, Jiang Han is shown listening to a tape recorder that was handed over to him earlier by Rose Luo. It had a recording of a woman panicking about another woman’s death. Just as Jiang Han is on his way to meet Rose Luo, he is hit by a speeding car and collapses on the road.

Season 3
Police officer 潘文成Pan Wencheng continued to investigate the murder of Mama Su in the Light Bar, and thorough investigation, he gradually revealed the true face of the murderer. It is discovered that there are more unspeakable secrets and complicated relationships hidden in the murder case.

The full series of dramas was available on Netflix since November, 2021.

The Music Video of 2020 version(this version) is adapted from real stories. Before filming, the director actually interviewed a number of same-sex couples who were unable to get married, and condensed their anxiety of not being able to meet and worrying about separation every time they are waiting at the airport.

This version, which was launched in 2020, somehow describes the phenomenon that the same-sex marriage had been legalized in Taiwan for one year since 2019, but this new law was only applicable to Taiwanese and the party who comes from countries that legalizes the same-sex marriage, such as the Netherlands, South Africa, Canada, and so on. On the contrary, this law was not applicable to the party who comes from countries that have still not legalized the same-sex marriage such as Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, the Phillipines, and so on. One of actors in the music video represents Japanese who is struggling with this situation and can not get married with his Taiwanese boyfriend, and receives the numerous interrogation in the airport immigration office about the reason why he enters Taiwan and departs frequently.

PS: Since 19th of January, 2023, the same-sex marriage has been enacted for all nationalities to register legally in Taiwan.

The movie is telling about the tragedic life(1906-1967) of the last emperor, 溥儀(Puyi) in office from 1908-1911, in Chinese history. He was ascended to the throne when he was just a child at the age of 2. His whole life was full of ups and downs from the emperor position ruling hundreds of millions of people to the normal citizen who is leading an ordinary life.

This movie was made in 1987 and directed by the Italian director, Bernardo Bertolucci, winning 9 Oscar prizes. This movie illustrates vividly this last emperor’s life with impartial third-party perspectives, and also has the audience enter the time tunnel of some historical periods, including Xinhai Revolution, divided warlord regimes after Xinhai Revolution, Manchukuo, WWII, and Culture Revolution. For those who are interested in history, empire politics, clothing fashion in the early 20th century, this movie is one of the most classic examples.

Moreover, Puyi wrote the autobiography about himself before he passed away. The name of the book is “From Emperor to Citizen: The Autobiography of Aisin-Gioro Pu Yi” or 我的前半生 (Wǒ de qián bàn shēng) in Chinese.

Jin Yong‘s wuxia(武俠) novels have a widespread fans in Chinese communities worldwide. His 15 works written between 1955 and 1972 earned him a reputation as one of the greatest and most popular wuxia writers ever. By the time he passed away in 2018, he was the best-selling Hong Kong author, and over 100 million copies of his works have been sold worldwide(not including an unknown number of pirated copies).

His works have the unusual ability to transcend geographical and ideological barriers separating Chinese communities of the world, and he is good at describing the plots in the vivid and enchanting ways, bestowing all characters with real souls and strong personalities, and intergrating some history facts into the fictional plots. The historical figures in novels often intermingle with fictional ones. Therefore, his works are always impressing the first readers, inspiring them to read the same plot again and again, furthering willing to read the next work.

What’s more, Jin Yong’s works also show a great deal of respect and approval of Chinese values, especially Confucian ideals such as the proper relationship between rulers and subject, parent and child, master and apprentice. However, some figures in novels are oppositely challenging these tradtional values. For example, in The Condor Heroes(神鵰俠侶), the two leading characters, Yang Guo(楊過) and his teacher, Xiao Long Nu(小龍女), have romantic relationship and get married finally, which is not acceptable from the traditional perspectives at that time. However, in the current society, the thing that the student gets married with their teacher seems more acceptable, such as French president, Emmanuel Macron and his high-school teacher and wife, Brigitte Trogneux.

Jin Yong has many fans outside of Chinese-speaking countries or regions as a result of the numerous adaptations of his works into films, television series, comics and video games. Let’s list some examples below.

Hello everyone, today’s episode is about one singer! She is 梁靜茹(Liáng jìng rú), Fish Leong.

梁靜茹 is a Chinese-origin Malaysian and she is a famous singer in the Mandarin music industry, known as the “Diva of Love Songs” and the “Diva of Healing Singers” Her works have been labeled as “Liang-style love songs”(梁氏情歌).

Since her debut in Taiwan in 1999, she has released 13 albums and two special albums. Her album has sold nearly 20 million copies in Asia and has performed in over 130 sold-out concerts, including over 2 million people attending her World-Tour concerts.

Fish Leong's music must play a role in some periods of your life or in your love story, either when you have good time with your lovers or when you broke up with your girlfriend or boyfriends.

In addition to her singing career, she is also an active charity ambassador of World Vision Malaysia and the Genesis Foundation(創世基金會).

The cast of actors, actresses, and singers in this movie is quite diverse.
