To train up a child involves moulding the character of the child and creating spaces and environment where holy and righteous living are modelled, practiced and taught. In today’s service, we will be looking at 7 key areas that parents should train a child.
To train up a child in the way he or she should go includes helping the child to be independent in different areas of their lives as they grow from infancy to adulthood.
Parenting is the process that prepares a child for independence. Selfless parenting does not focus on self but promotes and supports a child’s spiritual, physical, emotional, social development from infancy to adulthood.
The bible admonishes parent to train up their children in the way they should go and it also tells us that parents should not provoke their children to wrath so that they don’t get discouraged.
Today we will start exploring self-focused parenting perspectives that sabotage the plan and will of God in the lives of children.
The use of manipulative behaviours to get what we want in marriage destroys the marriage and hurts our spouse. Today, we will be addressing some manipulative behaviours that people engage in marriage and talk about 5 areas of marriage where we should serve one another.
God desires for us a happy marriage, however, selfishness robs marriages of happiness, joy and even in some cases destroys marriages. One of the selfish attitudes that destroy marriages is 'Control'.
In this message we exposed the forms of a controlling attitude that destroy marriages so that we can recognise them in our lives and change so that we can build healthy marriages.
God designed marriage to be a blessing to humanity but marriage has become the worst nightmare of many people in the world including Christians. Selfishness on the side of one or both parties plays a major role in dysfunctional marriages.
Though many people may not be aware of their selfishness in their marriages that damages the marriage, so today we will lay a foundation by exploring what the bible says about the attitude of both parties in a marriage relationship.
Sacrificial living is the hallmark of a mature Christian, while selfishness is an evidence of immaturity in the life of a believer. A self-focused Christian cannot fulfil their calling or purpose as the Lord would have them do and they often contribute to disunity in the church and their communities.

God wants the new life you received in your spirit through Christ at salvation to be visible in your physical life. However, experiencing this transformed life is not automatic, you have a duty to renovate your mind by changing the way you think.
The bible admonishes us to renew our minds so that we can be transformed and know God’s perfect will. The word renew also means to renovate, in this teaching, we will start exploring the concept of the renewing the mind that produces a transformed life.
Strongholds are beliefs we strongly defend or uphold that are contrary to God and have brought bondage into our lives or keep us from experiencing God’s best.
In this message, we will be looking at the spiritual weapons that God has given us to demolish these strongholds so that we can walk in the freedom, peace and live in God’s best for our lives.
Strongholds are systems of wrong beliefs that the enemy has strategically built in our minds. These strongholds keep us captive, they confine us in the spaces that the enemy wants us to be and they prevent us from experiencing God's best in the relevant areas of our lives.
We hope this message would help you recognise the strongholds the enemy has built in your minds that have stood unnoticed for probably years and able to start the process of pulling them down.
The forces of darkness aim to destroy all that is of Jesus Christ and that includes everyone who identifies with Christ - Believers. God wants us to recognise we are in a battle, hold our ground in Christ and live victoriously in life.
It is one thing to be a father, it is another thing to be a godly father. God is calling men and fathers to step up to godly fatherhood, to represent Him (His nature and character) to their families and communities and prevent the enemy from destroying the lives of our children.
In this service, we explored what it means to be a good father. The factors that hinder us from becoming godly fathers and we emphasised the crucial need to develop a strong relationship with Him and have our identity rooted in Christ and not in what we have or what we do.
God wants you to excel in life as a godly father, and we hope this message gets you one step closer to becoming the father God created you to be.
Today we will be looking at reasons why we often find it difficult to stay committed to God in our Christian with God, how to overcome these challenges and why we should start the journey of commitment to God if we have not already done so.
In the first 11 chapters of the book of Romans, Apostle Paul taught that the righteousness that comes from God cannot be earned by our efforts, it is a gift that is received by faith. He started the 2nd part of of the book of Romans by teaching on how to respond to God's mercy by becoming a living sacrifice.
The most conventional idea is that God gave Paul some kind of an injury or sickness that was partially disabling to keep him humble. With reference to the true character of God demonstrated by Jesus, will God do bring sickness and diseases into our lives to keep us humble?
It is widely accepted in Christian circles that God allowed Job to suffer for reasons best known to Himself, but could this be true in the light of what Jesus and the epistles revealed about the character of God?
Some say God makes bad things happen to good people because He wants to make something Good out of it.Some say He is a sovereign God and He choses to do what He likes, hence we have to plead for mercy.Do these perspectives of God help us build a strong relationship with Him or do they make us afraid of Him.Today we will be exploring the true answer to this question from the bible.
When we understand what God is like, through Jesus, we can avoid being deceived and/or manipulated by people who misrepresent Him.
Our picture of God must come from Knowing Jesus. whatever (evil) we cannot imagine Jesus would do to us, we should not imagine God would do such to you.
If you want to know what God is like, you don’t start with the Old Testament bible, you start with the New. Study the life and teachings of Jesus.
Some people though believe that Jesus is the Son of God but they perceive Jesus to be nicer and more kind than God.
They often see God as the one who hands out laws and punishment, a temperamental God who can get angry at you at any time and Jesus on the other side is this lovely and kind person that will never hurt anyone.
Jesus said in John 10:30 that Himself and God are one, and if this is true and which it is, so where do people get a wrong impression about the character of God?
Understanding the true character of God is foundational to having a great relationship with Him. God is one of the most misrepresented being in the world. If you don’t understand who God is, how He thinks and behaves, you will be susceptible to lies about Him.
It takes a healthy relationship with self to love other people in a healthy way. Every christian should learn how to love themselves in a non-toxic way so that they don't harm themselves and other people they should love.
This is the second part of the love walk series. Tunde Cole shares practical insights on how to keep ourselves and family safe in our interactions with other Christians. It is important that we recognise that not all who claim to be Christians are genuinely one and we should judge people by their Christlike character tested over a reasonable period of time instead of how they appear or what they say about themselves.
The bible tells us to love our neighbours as ourselves but not without boundaries. We must always remember that all Christians are in different stages of maturity in our Christian walk and with this knowledge comes the responsibility to build healthy boundaries around our relationships with other Christians.
Jesus said we should love our neighbour as we love ourselves but how should we love people who could hurt us or are fond of hurting us?
What about people who try to take advantage of us?
To understand this commandment, we may want to evaluate our definition or perspective of love and categorise our neighbours because different categories of neighbours may have to 'loved' in different ways.

It is by putting God first in all that we do that we would begin to have His desires able to do what He has called us to do.
God's primary purpose for our lives is to carry out His plan of reconciliation for humanity - to lead people to Jesus so that they can receive the gift of salvation and to come to the knowledge of the truth of their rights and privileges in Christ.
However, we all also have a secondary purpose, our vocation which are channels through which we execute God's primary purpose and bless humanity.
We conclude on the Three questions that connect you to your purpose and explore primary and secondary purpose of our lives.
To live a meaningful life, we need to renew our minds about purpose so that we can become the people God created us to be.
God wants you to know His purpose for your life. You can discover God's purpose for your life without the help of a middleman, be it a prophet, pastor or any other kind of human agency. Find out the Three questions that connect you to your purpose.
If we don't know God's purpose for our lives we will live for anything. Find out more reasons why you should discover God's purpose for your life.
One of the keys to living a fulfilling life on earth is to realise that you have a purpose regardless of the circumstances surrounding your birth or what life has thrown at you.

The authority of the believer is meaningless and unprofitable to if we don't enforce it.
The gift of diverse kinds of tongues is not a devotional gift and interpretation of tongues is not translation of tongues.
The gift of prophecy is to build, exhort and comfort people. If the manifestation is by the Spirit of God, it will not tear people down.

The sinful nature is the spiritual condition of unsaved people. A Christian, though may still sin because his or her mind has not been renewed, is not a sinner.

How do you see yourself? When people don't define themselves by natural accomplishment, they tend to define themselves by their physiological and Psychological identifications. These identifications are subject to change, if they change, it does not mean that we have lost our identity. Our real self is not in our tribe, race, colour or personality.
Personality tests cannot reveal who we truly are in our born again spirit nor can they reveal the abilities that God has given us to do what He called us to do. They only reveal our current psychological state.

The regenerative change that took place in the life of a believer when they believed in Jesus took place in their spirit and not in my mind or body.
The Holy Spirit represents Jesus in our lives to give us all the help we need to become who God created us to be despite the forces of the world that work against us. He comforts us when we are in distress and gives us the right counsel.
The Holy Spirit is a guide who shows us how and where to get the truth. He does not learn the truth for us so we need must be willing to know the truth.
The Holy Spirit will help us acquire depth of insight into God’s word and not mere mental accent. He announces to us in detail what Jesus has done for us.

One of the greatest weapon of the devil against us is deception. He tries to deceive us into doing the wrong things so that he can attack us.
The Holy Spirit is the one who will guide us into the truth that will keep us safe. The Holy Spirit does not reveal general truths that are common sense but spiritual truths that reveal our identity, rights and privileges in Christ.
We are constantly bombarded with lies about Christianity, God, our identity and many other things. Thank God for the Holy Spirit who reveals the truth to about these things. A person who is not a member of God's spiritual family via the new birth cannot understand or accept the spiritual truths revealed by the Holy Spirit.
Believers who are sense ruled and embrace ungodliness especially envy and strife, cannot receive great spiritual insights that will help them grow up spiritually. Believers must always bear in mind that they are not ordinary people and live like spiritual people in Christ Jesus.
There are false realities built up in our subconscious minds and drives our behaviour. God wants us to be free from the false realities that keep us in bondages. Our soul is being saved as we align our thinking with God's word and we have a major part to play in the salvation of our soul.

The fear of the Lord is not a fear that has torment, it is not a fear of punishment. The bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and to fear the Lord means we hate what He hates i.e evil and we love what He loves - righteousness, truth etc.
While it is natural to desire to be accepted and respected, we should not seek praise and honour from people to fulfil these desires. Jesus talks about praise and honour that comes from God, we should learn to seek and be satisfied with the honour that comes from God.
Unhealthy desire for the acceptance and approval of people will make us do things we shouldn't do to the extent of hurting other people.

Unhealthy desire for the acceptance and validation of people is a dangerous trap that hold us back from becoming who God created us to be.
To be free from religious fear, we must understand the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and that Him we have been saved from the wrath to come. We need not to be afraid of God's punishment for any reason.
Religious fear is caused by a fear of God’s punishment if we don’t serve Him as we think we should, but God does not want us to serve Him in fear.
Religion uses fear to motivate us to serve God but God does not want us to serve Him in fear.
God did not create mankind to be afraid, fear came into the world from the day Adam sinned. Everyone who believed the gospel of Christ received the Spirit of God when we believed the gospel and this Spirit does not make us timid or afraid of circumstances/situations in our lives and around us but to enable us walk in the love of God and in victory over the issues of life.
As believers though we have been delivered from the power of the devil/sin and the bondage of religion, however, we must be cautious with how we exercise our Christian liberty so that we don't cause other believers to fall or go off track as they observe our conduct.
As Christians we still struggle in one area of our lives and have been taught to look up to God to deliver us some day from the struggles and oppressions in our personal lives. The bible however teaches otherwise, it teaches us that God has delivered us from the power of the devil through Jesus and realising this truth will help us experience the freedom God has given us in Christ Jesus.
If we want to achieve spiritual maturity and stability in our Christian walk and experience the blessings and victories that God Has given us in Christ Jesus, we must transition from living by our emotions to acting on God's word because God's word contains the spiritual reality of the Believer.
Our emotions most of the time do not depict the reality of our spiritual condition. Feelings are often subject to ever changing situations and circumstances while the reality of our spiritual condition and identity in Christ do not change.
Every believer has in us the ability to let go of the old lifestyle of sin because we now have a new nature in us, our new nature in Christ is holy and righteous. However, to experience this new life we need a spiritual revelation of our new identity in Christ and intentionally conduct ourselves accordingly.w
Today we are exploring our God given abilities to let go of the lifestyle of the sinful nature before we got saved. The grace of God does not only bring salvation into our lives, it also teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live righteous and godly lives. Find out more
To let go of the old lifestyle that we learned from the sinful nature before we got saved, we must recognise the condition of our soul. Our soul which comprises of our mind, will and emotions was not saved when we received Christ and was corrupted by the sinful desires and passions of the old nature.
Although our spirit is saved and is now holy, we must commit ourselves to planting the word of God in our hearts through meditation in order to experience and live out the new life we now have in our spirit.
