This third and last installment is on a topic of major importance in Scripture.
Few truths are more life-changing than what the future holds for the believer in Jesus -- yet many are unaware of what the Bible teaches on this matter.
As such, we will seek to carefully examine what it has for us -- and expect our lives to be transformed.
The Bible is a book oft present and eternal, explaining carefully what awaits the believer in Jesus. The promises are astounding, and the biblical writers staked their lives on those promises. What are they? What do they mean? How will they impact you?
The core of the Christian faith is redemption -- seen especially in God's plan for the resurrection and restoration of all things, through faith in Jesus. This is what brings present hope and perspective. Do you know what the Bible teaches on this subject?
No believer in Jesus can take one penny or one material item to Heaven. What will endure, however, is the fruit we develop for Jesus (John 15:1-8).
And so much of the fruitfulness we produce comes through prayer -- prayer to know God, prayer for ourselves, and prayer for others. These prayers -- offered in faith -- will have eternal results. ETERNAL results. I hope this reality stirs you to grow in prayer.
And certainly, the teaching of Jesus here in Mt. 6:5-14 will accomplish so much of this!
I just finished an in-depth study of David's remarkable prayer in Ps. 86 -- certainly one of the greatest prayers and insights into the nature of God anywhere in Scripture (and I will be doing a message series on this soon).
Even so, it cannot improve upon what Jesus teaches in Mt. 6:5-14, the subject of this message.
I continue to marvel at the brilliance of the Lord's Pattern of Prayer 44 years after first learning of it, in Mt. 6:5-14. No teaching on prayer can come close to it!
If you were to ask any of the men and women we read about in the Bible about prayer, they would all rate it as high as possible and urge everyone to embrace it.
The Lord Jesus knows how vital prayer is, but He also knows its challenges. In His teaching on prayer -- The Lord's Pattern of Prayer (Mt. 6:5-14) -- He reveals the great secrets to prayer and also invites you to experience its eternal value.
An intriguing, heartfelt message on the great joy -- and vast importance -- of prayer. This comes from what I like to call The Lord's Pattern of Prayer, from Mt. 6:5-14. This is the life-giving, brilliant, matchless teaching of Jesus on prayer.
I have a feeling that this new series -- Jesus Reveals the Father Heart of God from John 1:18 -- might be the most important I've ever taught.

What impresses God is not what most people think -- and this is true even for far too many Christians.

Why Is There Suffering or evil in the World? This is a common question for humanity. Today's passage in Luke 13:1-5 addresses this issue, but it's only one area among the vast answers in Scripture which address this critical topic. Today's message is most vital because the answers come from Jesus.
On occasion, someone has told me, "Ok; I'll give you the answer, but it may not be what you want to hear!" And usually, the person is correct. The truth may sting but it always helps to change behavior and thinking.
This is what we find from the teaching of Jesus today -- a teaching He addressed regarding current events of His day -- and in direct response from someone who wanted to know the reason for suffering and evil.
This message hasn't yet been edited for sound, but I feel like it needs to get out now. Some of you may know what a "Berean" is, and some not. If you don't, I explain this, which appears in Acts 17:10-12. The Church needs a Berean mindset now, more than ever. I pray this message stirs you to love God and His Word more than ever. This is the last in a three-part series on the teaching of Jesus concerning His coming judgment. Whether people want to believe He will judge the world in righteousness is irrelevant. It will happen. The wise person will take His gracious warning to heart.
The wise, faithful Christian loves the entire Bible and all of Jesus’ teaching – not just His teaching on love and grace – teachings that make one feel comfortable and for which the believer won’t be persecuted or rejected.
The foolish so-called follower of Jesus insists that Jesus is too loving, too kind to judge. This man or woman acts like Jesus never said a thing about judgment – or if He did He only warned the religious leaders of coming judgment.
But to insist on this is the depth of biblical ignorance. Worse, it’s spiritual malpractice. And worse still, it’s idolatry because it’s a false gospel, a different Jesus. Please join me in examining Jesus' own words -- His gracious word of warning of coming judgment -- and let's learn to live in greater awe and reverence of Him.
Far too many churches in America have opted for an idolatrous, false gospel -- a "me-centered," feel-good Christian faith that offers everything and requires nothing -- no daily cross-bearing. It has opted for a god who is only loving, never judgmental, and who will certainly never condemn anyone to Hell. But this is not the Jesus of Scripture.
As far back as 1937, Richard Niebuhr saw this and warned against it with sarcasm: "A God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a cross."
In this passage, listen carefully to His words and orient your life to the truth of the gospel -- not nice-guy Jesus preachers make Him out to be.
If I knew I had only five messages to preach before I went to heaven, forgiveness would definitely be one of those messages. Living a lifestyle of forgiveness is that vital. The title is a tough, provocative one because its message is so true, so urgent. Please listen to find out why.
While the world -- and even the Church -- is sleeping concerning the things in life that matter more than anything Jesus teaches on a vital matter. Do you understand His return? Forgiveness is at the heart of Scripture, from start to finish. Hence, it's an issue of major importance to God. The same holds true for how He views our unwillingness to forgive others.
The parable that I teach from in Mt. 18:21-35 essentially teaches that if we want God's forgiveness (who gives it when we ask sincerely, if we're united with Jesus) -- but then we refuse to forgive others -- there are horrible consequences for our own bitterness.
I really would urge you to listen to this 28 minute message -- especially if you're bitter towards someone else.
I would say most Americans are dismayed -- greatly dismayed -- by the level of anger in our nation. In fact, it rarely seems to make sense! But this message -- diagnosed by the Word of God -- answers this question. It also provides many solutions to overcome anger. There is an appalling, alarming, and willful ignorance of a major essential of the Christian faith among professing believers in Jesus Christ, and that is concerning the Person of the Holy Spirit -- the Third Person of the Holy Trinity.

The purpose of this message is to correct that grave error and introduce the wonder of God the Holy Spirit to believers in this Know Your Faith Series in the Gospel of Luke!
What God thinks of us is infinitely more important than what man thinks of us. How is it then that people are more concerned about what others think of them than what God thinks of them? What people think of you when you stand before God on the Day of Judgment will mean nothing! In that day, none of men’s opinions on anything that counters the words of Scripture will matter!

One of the worst words to describe anyone in any language is the word “hypocrite.” A hypocrite is someone who wants you to think that person is someone he isn’t. What is a religious hypocrite? Why did Jesus warn His disciples so frequently against hypocrisy? Why did He rebuke the scribes and the Pharisees -- the religious leaders of Israel -- so often for their hypocrisy?
What relevance does this have for us today? Find out as we dig deep into our passage today!

There is no better pattern or teaching on prayer better than the Lord's Prayer. As we conclude our study from the masterful teaching of Jesus from Luke 11, our focus will be on forgiveness and spiritual warfare. You are sure to learn something new and vital from Him!
Without question, one of the most urgent matters for anyone is the issue of forgiveness -- specifically knowing and practicing forgiveness toward others when we're hurt, offended, or sinned against. If we refuse to forgive, we're the ones who will pay a heavy price -- internally and externally.

John Wesley declared, "God does nothing on earth, except in response to believing prayer." William Cowper wrote, "And Satan trembles when he sees, the weakest saint upon his knees."
Beloved, prayers prayed in faith rise as incense before God and are placed in golden bowls -- where they are then used with incredible power and results (cf. Rev. 5:8-9). See with me in this message why your praying has so much influence and authority!
I have the conviction from Scripture that prayer is by far one of the greatest gifts that God has ever given to people -- especially to believers in Jesus.
Friend, do you matter to God? Does He want to hear from you and relate to you? Does your praying count? Do your prayers matter to Him and influence the world? We're going to answer these questions in today's message -- intended to equip you to grow in prayer and to love prayer!

Sorry for the provocative title! But it is true; I invite you to take a careful examination of this vital parable, and I can assure you this is not some different or weird interpretation, but rather an insight into the proper context of the parable.

Friends, This recording is something new; I'm going to try to record the live translation of these messages for the FM station I broadcast on in Kamuli, Uganda. I record them from home, upload them to WhatsApp, and then a team goes into the FM studio Friday nights at 6pm to air the messages live.
There are some "kinks" in this process, so if you want to listen to the end, please be patient. There are several "dead spots" in the program that only last a few seconds, and then you can hear the broadcast resume.
I'm told that the listenership is about 650,000, total. That is, the radio station says to figure that about five people listen for each radio turned on. I hope you enjoy the uniqueness of this broadcast!
Pride leads to divisiveness, and it also causes us to think we're better than others. This attitude is dangerous, and it's destructive! Jesus had to deal with this attitude in His disciples before they went out to represent Him. It was another convicting lesson, but they were better off for it. We will be as well, if we obey Him.

Jesus never promised to make our faith easy or comfortable. This brief passage makes this clear. He tells us things we may not like, or initially understand -- but if our heart is right before Him He'll give us the grace we need to know and obey Him.
But if we don't guard our hearts, we will miss out on the most important words we will ever hear: God speaking to us and with us!
In this passage, Luke gives us an important lesson on why the disciples failed to cast a demon out of a boy -- even after they had already cast out demons from others. What happened? Are there lessons here for us?
The greatest need for the believer in Jesus is to cultivate a love for the Lord and His Word, and to learn how to "hear" it accurately and live it out. This message will inspire you toward that end!
Can anyone today claim to give one eternal life, forgiveness of sin, renewal and purpose in life? Jesus makes that claim! What must you do to receive these things from Him? This broadcast will answer these urgent, essential matters.
Confusion existed in Jesus' day among His own people as to who He really was (and is). Confusion concerning who He is and what He expects exists today as well! This study will examine who Jesus is, according to His words.
In this broadcast, we find amazing insights into the way Jesus cared for people, and in the way He cares for us today!
We learn from this passage and the failure of the disciples that growth in maturity -- the discipleship process -- is a very long process! There are many other things we can learn from this passage as well!
Beloved, how much do you value the Word of God? Do you know what kind of premium Jesus places on His Word? Do Christians take His Word seriously? These are some of the matters we'll discuss in this message.
Fully 1/3 of all of Jesus' teaching was in parables, and the Parable of the Sower is the most important of all His parables. Take a careful listen, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform you through Luke's gospel!
This series really is well and appropriately titled: The Know Your Faith Series. What could be more important than for a believer to know his or her faith -- and to live it out before others, communicate it rightly and carefully -- and bear fruit for Jesus? The gospel of Luke is such a key to this. Join us as we move through Luke carefully, patiently, and verse-by-verse!
The unnamed woman in this passage offers extravagant worship to Jesus, coming from the depths of her soul. She is one who was forgiven much, and thus she loved much. Conversely, the Pharisee who disdained her saw no need for his own forgiveness -- even while displaying a stunning depth of self-righteousness!
This passage focuses on the incredible story of John the Baptist having doubts about whether Jesus was indeed the Messiah. Jesus offers evidence from His miraculous ministry as well as His teaching ministry. And He adds one important point -- a "double-edged sword.": Trusting Him results in blessing, but allowing one's self to be offended by wrong expectations is disastrous.
This message focuses on the importance of Jesus raising the dead as one of the many expected signs from the Old Testament of the Messiah (cf. Isaiah 35; 42:6-7; 49:6). It also demonstrates why what Jesus did is relevant to us today.
Luke gives us such vital insight into how Jesus relates to people, and also teaches us about the importance of faith in God.
