Young Opportunist Insights are a collection of our favourite moments from previous conversations we've had on this podcast. In this insight, Ryan Fisher (founder of FisherTM) talks about his personal experience of seeking happiness and how he found the concept of harmony more achievable than constant happiness. He shares his visit to a psychologist who asked him to list things that are good and bad for him and narrow it down to nine things that he should live by.
He states that by focusing on these simple things daily, which create harmony in life, it can increase the chance of experiencing happy moments. If the path to sustained happiness is to maintain a life of harmony, it can be difficult with constant distractions and temptations around. Like anything, it's easy to veer away from your goals.
Happiness is a fleeting feeling that comes and goes, and instead, we should strive for harmony in life- Ryan Risher

In this weeks Young Opportunist podcast episode we speak with Ethan Fleming, the co-founder/co-owner of GetGoing, a content creator and holds multiple Guinness World Records for some insane events.
This guy is Australian version of David Goggins. Ethan makes towing a Jeep on your back look easy.
As part of our Melbourne Tour, we knew it was essential to do a HARD workout with Ethan and we may have got more than we asked for... However, the assault bike and stair run superset proved to directly correlate to our amazing conversations with Ethan.

In this week's episode we had the privilege of talking to Tom and Luke, two of the Barbell Foods founders.
Barbell Foods was founded by four best mates in their early twenties from a shared passion for health, movement and the outdoors. This was the perfect opportunity to create a healthy source of protein to fuel their adventures.
Every business starts somewhere, and their start involved some hard yakka man labor. Marinating kilos of steak in a small, rented kitchen, drying it in the pantry, and finally cutting each steak by hand.
In this episode we cover:

Let us start by saying that this is the perfect episode for someone that feels like they are lacking motivation and clarity in both a physical sense, and in life more broadly!
In this week's episode we had the honor of talking with Ethan Flemming, one crazy and inspiring individual. Ethan Flemming is a content creator, educator, entrepreneur and also the holder of multiple Guinness World Records - an overachiever we know!
He has completed some of the most insane physically challenges over the past couple years, these include pulling 2t jeep 100km (taking him 48 hours with only 20 minutes of sleep), greatest distance on an assault bike, most burpees in 24 hours 11,401 and much much more.
We literally start fighting demons on a 1-minute wall sit, so we took ALOT away from this episode personally!

We are back with another BTYO episode and we are talking about a concept that Jaemin Frazer originally talked about on his podcast The Insecurity Project - Episode 245 (links below). Jaemin talks about the idea of gamifying your life - we explain why this is such a powerful concept in this episode!
In our interview with Jaemin (episode 4) we talked about why the use of metaphors are so important, more specifically how metaphors are the language of the unconscious mind. The reason why understanding the unconscious mind matters so much is because often it is the very thing that holds us back in life.

Today’s episode is all about the basics of investing and personal-finance. We will be discussing practical investing tips and money habits that you can implement today - like quite literally when you get home from work!
Best things about these tips are that they require zero experience or knowledge about finance and the stock market! The second best thing about these tips is that you can sit down at home tonight and implement them right away. We highly recommend you do these as soon as possible!
We discuss:
We also discuss why podcasting has changed our life's, including why it has set us on a new trajectory for the rest of our lives - it relates to the following quote from our discussion with Owen Rask:
“One of the things you don’t have when you're younger is money, but you have time; time gives you the opportunity to learn. But there will become a time when you don't have time, but you have money. So educate yourself while you're young so you have the tools to invest when you have money."Recommended Investing/Personal Finance Podcasts:

In this episode we talk with Josh Reyes, the Co-Founder and CEO of Minke. You basically store your cryptocurrency in an account and earn incredibly high interest on your balance in comparison to a regular savings account.
Right now, we are at the forefront of Decentralised Finance, or De-Fi so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get an expert in the space on the podcast to understand what Minke’s mission is, but also to breakdown what is actually going on and learn more about this technology in general.

In this episode we chatted with Joel Comm, a keynote Speaker, blockchain and cryptocurrency evangelist, podcaster, author and entrepreneur. Joel is honestly one of the most heavy hitting guests we’ve had on the podcast this far, so we're feeling very honored to have him on the show!
With all the hype around NFTS, digital collectables and everything in-between, we knew we had to get someone on the show as soon as we could to shine a bit of light on this technology and investment class. This was such an informative, fun and insightful conversation - Reece and I honestly learnt ALOT!
What do we cover in this episode?
Along with a deep dive into all things NFTs, Crypto, the future of the metaverse and much much more, Joel also ran us through his incredible entrepreneurial journey in the first half of the interview. This includes how he has been able to stay at the forefront of almost every significant tech innovation over the past 20 years.
For example, in 1995 in the early days of the internet, Joel created one of the first online stores, and now flash forward to today, he is at the forefront of the Blockchain and NFTs, minting over 1,000,000 of them. - Crazy
We are telling you, the future is coming and its coming faster than you could ever imagine. Blockchain technology is going to impact almost every aspect of the present world, from our financial system to healthcare to gaming - we cover all of this in this episode!

Let us start by saying that there is currently over $72 trillion in global debt. In this episode we talk with the face behind the Economic Truth, John Sneisen. John is an author and economic historian from Canada who specialises in the history of money/global capital. Reece and I have been really interested in the current macroeconomic outlook, how we got to the fiat monetary system we have today, and finally if there is a solution to the mess we are in - John was the perfect guest to answer all of these questions.

This was an episode that really resonated with us, as we are both Commerce students - but still don't really know exactly what we are passionate about. Michael has an incredible journey navigating his way through this same situation, going through the Corporate path to eventually get involved in the startup world. Being the CEO of one of the biggest start-up accelerator firms in Australia and New Zealand, operating his own online course, creating NFT's and actively posting valuable content on Twitter and his Blog website, goes to show what kind of individual Michael is.

In his episode we talk with Georgia Houston, the owner and founder of GH nutrition and her own private dietetics practice which specialises in eating disorders. Georgia is a well educated individuals and, really an expert in guiding and supporting her clients to overcome issues with their mental-wellbeing. She is an accredited practicing dietician with her masters in nutrition and dietetics with a background in psychology.
Yes, we are a podcast with a focus on business, entrepreneurship and personal finance, but Reece and I also believe that it is important to provide awareness around these types of issues that face young individuals - as your mental and physical health can inhibit your ability to find success into the future. This is especially true in this day in age, where social standards are set by social media and so called influencers.
In todays episode we uncover:

In this episode of the Young Opportunist Podcast, we review Outliers, a famous book written by Michael Gladwell. We examine and discuss what sets the high achievers and ultra successful apart - from Bill Gates to the Beatles.
We generally assume these individuals are given a special 'gift from god' and the questions we always ask about the ultra-successful include:
We assume the answers to these questions will quite simply explain the reason for their ability to reach the top. Gladwell challenges this mindset and argues that a person's environment and upbringing, together with personal drive and ambition affects his or her possibility and opportunity for success.

In this Episode we review Paulo Coelho's book the Alchemist. This is a must listen episode, especially for those struggling with the idea finding a purpose, or this case, a personal legend. We personally struggle with this, and believe so many young people also do in this day and age. In this episode we highlight four of our favourite points from the book, which mainly fall into the realm of:
We believe that this is an essential read for all young people as we still have the ability to break social norms and follow our true calling, whatever they may be.
These were the parts that resonated most with us personally. Therefore, we highly recommend that you purchase the book for yourself, to get the most out of it. As some key parts may resonate with you differently (buy it here).
