We're reviewing Season 8 episode 9 of Project Runway. The designers were challenged to design a high-fashion look which is inspired by L'oreal eyeshadow. That's some prominent product placement, they must have paid a fortune.
We also chit-chat about saving vs spending money, the Franklin expedition, smelly Elizabethans, whale watching, and books. Books we've read, books we are reading, and books we want to read.
The designers on Project Runway were challenged with designing a piece of classic American sportswear ala Jackie O in season 8 episode 8.
We also go off on tangents and chat about the Kennedys in general, ventriloquist dummies, fandom, celebrity gossip, and paparazzi.
It's that time of the season, (Season 8 episode 7) the Michael Kors challenge. He challenges the designers to make resort wear, and, gasp! it's a partner challenge, much to the chagrin of the designers.
Then Caitlin tells a story about a guy who was staying at the resort she went to for her honeymoon, we talk about sending postcards home from Burning Man, and Christina tries to convince Caitlin of the existence of magic wrap skirts.
Today we chat about season 8 episode 6 of Project Runway. The designers were challenged to redesign some awful bridesmaids' dresses into new runway-ready looks.
We also spend a few minutes ranting about the modern state of streaming services.
It's a team challenge! Season 8 episode 5 of Project Runway got a little dramatic. Maybe we'll finally figure out why everyone hates Gretchen? hmmm....

It's part one of the season 7 finale of Project Runway. Tim Gunn has his feet swept out from under him when he visits the designers at home to see the progress they've made on their final collections. Then, the judges decide whether Jay or Mila will make it to Bryant Park.
We also talk about several teachers we loved and/or hated from high school, credit scores, dogs getting loose, and a little bit about how many old classmates are now in jail. I had to edit out so many names. We're terrible at staying on topic.
We're talking about season 7 episode 12 of Project Runway. The designers are taken to the Ringling Brothers circus to watch a show and look for inspiration.

We're talking about season 7 episode 11 of Project Runway, the designers were challenged with designing a look for a difficult celebrity: Heidi. Of course, did anyone really expect it to be anyone else?

Today we chat about season 7 episode 10 of Project Runway. The designers were tasked with designing their own fabric for this week's look so they went to work on their HP computers and HP tablets and printed test prints on a giant HP printer. I wonder who sponsored this episode?
We also went on a tangent where we talked about how we used to write stories back in the day and how Caitlin would make Christina do all the typing, she wrote while typing this episode description ;P
It's Project Runway time! We watched Season 7 episode 9 and the designers were challenged to create a look inspired by a NYC neighborhood. The preview made it look like this would be a super dramatic episode.
We also talk about the ad rolls we get while watching Project Runway on Tubi vs on Amazon Prime. We quickly realize we don't remember the eliminated designers from earlier this season but season 8 is almost here so who cares? Then we talk about Boy Meets World and Molly Sims.
We're chatting about Season 7 episode 8 of Project Runway, the designers have to use the four elements as their inspirations and a couple of them actually did.
Any we wouldn't be us if we didn't waste time going off on tangents so we also talk about The Hunger Games, sunblock, Sunday work emails, dressing silly in SF, going to see Harry and the Potters, remembering embarrassing moments, Quiznos, and winning radio contests.
It's the unconventional challenge! We're talking about Project Runway season 7 episode 7 and the designers were challenged with making their outfits out of items found in a hardware store.
And we know everyone is talking about Burning Man but we're not talking about it. Not really. Okay, we talk about it.
We also talk about finding purses for cheap at rummage sales, Mystery Science Theater 3000 and cheesy old movies, Killers of the Flower Moon, and for the first time in all of season 7... Caitlin remembers Janeane's name... now that she's been eliminated. Oops.
This week we watched season 7 episode 6 of Project Runway. The designers had to work for kids, yikes! And some of them are pretty worried.
We also go on many tangents, including Halloween costumes, jelly shoes, the Spice Girls, NSYNC, the history of cell phones, and the fact that we aren't at Burning Man this week.
We're back with season 7 episode 5 of Project Runway and the judges really ripped the designers apart this week! Ouch!
We also talk about the declining quality of Seventeen magazine and stumble onto some more recent Project Runway gossip... what did Anna Zhou do? We're still not sure.
And we're back with Season 7 episode 4 of Project Runway. It's the soup episode. The designers are challenged to make a Campbell's soup dressed for Campbell's heart disease awareness campaign. Imagine red dresses with soup can trim and lots of talks about heart surgery and you'll get the gist of this episode.
We also talk about the Try Guys, Chernobyl, the OJ Trial, and getting chased by a Gopher.

Tim Gunn takes the designers to the MET where they look at some "Iconic" looks from notable designers. They're challenged with making something that could stand up next to those designs.

We're back with season 7 of Project Runway! There are so many new designers and they're challenged to make something that represents themselves as a designer. There's also a broken bed in one of the apartments, what's the story there? Really, I'm asking.

It's finale time! We're talking about Project Runway season 6 episode 13. It's part 1 of the finale so we talk about Tim Gunn visiting the designers and meeting their families, their work in progress on their collections and them all meeting back up, now finally back in New York.

This week the Project Runway contestants were challenged with making two blue looks for the Macy's INC brand, that's right! It's Season 6 Episode 7, you never saw that coming did you? Almost like we're recording these in order.

The stress brings out the drama and almost everyone is ready to tear each other down. We also talk briefly about being chased by geese.

We also chat about the movie Splash, How I Met Your Mother (Rachel Bilson is a guest judge), avant garde runway shows, Master Chef, how Lady Gaga definitely stole some ideas from Project Runway, and now that we're almost 2 years in... do WE actually even like Project Runway?
We're chatting about Season 6 episode 2 of Project Runway. Rebecca Romijn was on to challenge the designers to design a pregnancy look. Caitlin gives lots of first-hand advice on what the best pregnancy clothes are. We're back with season 6 of Project Runway and somehow we had both blocked this season entirely out of our memories. There was a season shot in LA? What? Who knew? In this episode, a whole new group of designers had to make a look for the red carpet.

We're almost to the finale! Today's episode is the semi-final of season 5. There's laughter (ours) and there are tears (the contestants'). The designers are taken to the botanical gardens for their inspiration. We also talk about Burning Man, pop music, tv shows, our love for Angelina Jolie, and drag story time. Harvey Weinstein's ex-wife was the guest judge so the topic of disgusting people in Hollywood also came up.
No pets were used as weapons in the recording of this episode.
This week we're talking about season 5 episode 11 of Project Runway. The designers were each given a music genre that they had to design a look for and the stereotypes run wild! We also erupt into minor chaos as Caitlin navigates recording a podcast while parenting and looking after her new puppy. In between, we somehow find time to talk about the Olsen twins and Britney Spears (are we a broken record yet?).
This week we're talking about Season 5 episode 10 of Project Runway. The designers have to make looks for a real-life college graduate as she negotiates interviews and new jobs. And plot twist! Their moms are in the workroom to give their opinions on the looks as well. It wouldn't be us if we didn't go on tons of tangents so we also talk about uncommon common names, what old cell phones were the best, and of course: Mary Kate and Ashley.
This week we're chatting about season 5 episode 9 of Project Runway. All the eliminated designers came back and teamed up with those remaining to design a look based on an astrological sign. We also go on 100 tangents but if you've listened this long that you probably expect that by now.

This week on Blood Orange WASP we watch season 4 episode 10 of Project Runway. The designers make new costumes for the women of WWE. We also entreaty Adam Lambert to put out another solo album.
This week the designers have to run and grab every pair of jeans they can get their hands on as the material for their challenge. Jillian and Victorya go head to head in a trench coat off, neither was as good as the one they made on the previous challenge.
We chat about Season 4 episode 8 of Project Runway, it's an avant-garde team challenge, yikes! It brings out a couple of absolutely iconic looks, not to mention the best pairing since curry and cauliflower. We also end up talking about an awkward photo, I'm not sure how that came up.

Things get sweet on Project Runway this week as we watch Season 4 episode 6. It's the unconventional challenge! The designers are tasked with designing a look based entirely out of material they picked up from the Hershey's store.
This week we watched Season 4 episode 5 of Project Runway. The designers have to use an old favorite outfit as material to create an everyday look for a regular woman. We also get a bit of an unplanned twist. We probably also go off-topic but to be honest, we recorded this a week ago and I don't remember what random stuff we might have been into last week. One of us probably mentions a show the other doesn't watch. There's probably gossip about a pop star. Maybe a story about something funny we did once. Who knows?
This week we watched Season 4 episode 4 of Project Runway. The designers had to pick an outdated trend to modernize and then (gasp!) they had to work in teams and combine their trends. It had so much promise and the designers played it way too safe. We also talk about the Oscar's slap heard 'round the world. Yeah, we're old news.
This week we watched Season 4 episode 3 of Project Runway. The designers had to design an outfit for Tiki Barber. It's a short episode this week because there are only so many things we can think to say about another dark suit coming down the runway. Menswear really needs a renaissance. Where are the Jacobean ruffs? Where are the kilts?
On todays episode of Project Runway, the designers were challenged with designing for a fashion icon... and this time it actually was an icon. We're talking A list. And the designers did not bring their A game. We also give completely unrelated book recommendations.
This week we are starting season 4 of Project Runway. This season is filled with some of the series' most iconic moments plus, the legend himself, Christian Siriano. We also talk about bridesmaids' dresses and Burning Man.

In this week's episode, we talk about couture. It's Season 3 episode 9 of Project Runway and the designers are in Paris and they're given a massive two-day challenge. We largely disagree with the judges.
This week we have a special guest from Gen Z to tell us what was wrong with the clothes back in 2006. As for the episode, the designers were given the task of creating a look for a jet setter. A big advantage to the designers who have traveled before! We also talk extensively about what was wrong with Sex and the City and how Forgetting Sarah Marshall is the perfect break-up movie.
This week we watched Project Runway season 3 episode 7. The designers have to design for their fellow designers' moms and sisters. Personalities clash. We also talk about how awful Jeffrey is and the time Caitlins' brother called her from a Colorado radio show.
This week we watched season 3 episode 6 of Project Runway, the unconventional challenge! The designers have to use all recycled materials to make their looks. It's a lotta paper. A couple of them paint their paper with varying levels of success and disaster. We go off on tangents and at one point my dog pooped on the floor (I cut that out).
This week we watched season 3 episode 5 of Project Runway. The designers have to modernize a fashion icon but there's a twist! The models will pick the icon AND the designer they want to work with. We also talk about Christmas, Covid, and the fact that there were, in fact, two completely different Hepburns.
This week Caitlin and Christina talk about Season 3 Episode 4, an episode that has gone down in Project Runway history! One of the designers has been caught cheating. We also talk about Project Runway for Wii, Burning Man, and Caitlins' sons' new habit of running out the front door to look at Christmas decorations.
This week we talk about season 3 episode 3 of Project Runway. In this episode, the designers have to create a look inspired by a little dog and then make an outfit for the dog too! Other topics we cover: The Rocky and Bullwinkle live-action movie, Christmas stockings, international grocery stores, The Simpsons, and Sex in the City.
This week the designers are challenged with making a pageant gown! And they have to work in teams! We have strong opinions about who SHOULD have gone home.

We are in agreement that none of the dresses are as fantastic as they could have been. What is it with this show and contestants choking at the end?!

The designers work in pairs this week to design an outfit for Banana Republic and TWO are going home :O Then Caitlin tells a story about being a teenager in a rural town and being invited to a party in a barn so Christina had to spend half an hour cutting names out so no one is incriminated by anything. Hello fashionistas and featured worse dress lists, we're back to talk about season 2 episode 2 of Project Runway. Is there drama in this episode? Always. Do we disagree about the looks? Usually. Do we go on tangents? I can't actually remember but it's highly likely.
We disagree with each other and with the show's judges about the ones picked to go out.
We also talk about experiences applying for reality shows, Britney Spears, Scooby-Doo, and probably about 40 other topics because we’re queens of the tangent.
Also, for the first time ever we bring on a couple of members of Gen Z to tell us their thoughts of these fashions from before they were born. These kids have opinions and are ready to share them!
We did it. We finished the first season. We talk about the drama surrounding fashion week and how ready we are for season 2. Tangents include Mary Kate and Ashley, how much it sucks waiting for AAA, and 20 minutes about people we know at the end. We understand if you skip that but it makes us laugh so we're leaving it in.
We talk about Project Runway Season 1, episode 10: The Reunion. All the eliminated contestants meet up with the final three and Heidi and Tim and talk about their experience on the show. That's about half this episode. The rest of it we spend talking about Britney Spears. #freebritney
It's the last challenge before New York Fashion Week. We discuss how unfortunate Nancy O'dells taste in fashion is and mourn the loss of what was almost an incredible finale.
This is it. The episode we've been waiting for for two months. The most memorable episode of Project Runway that ever aired: Season 1 Episode 8, the postal uniform challenge. The designers act as mail people for the day and then are put to work redesigning the uniform. The drama in this episode, let me tell you, it's something else. We loved it so much that I think we actually stayed on topic for once.
In this week's episode, the designers have to work together to build a collection illustrating what they think the fashions of 2055 will look like! Our tangents rely heavily on Burning Man and Mad Max.
This week on Blood Orange: We are SO Pretentious, we watched Season 1 Episode 6 of Project Runway: Making a Splash. The designers have to make a swimsuit that can transform into a formal evening look. Are you as confused by that challenge prompt as we are? We also talk about some behind-the-scenes trivia and go off on tangents about Sex and the City, America's Next Top Model, and child labor laws.
