THE WELLNESS PATHWAY podcast provides interviews with people who have transformed their lives whether that be physically, spiritually, emotionally or even pursued a new calling or life journey. I also speak with experts and teachers with valuable insights and techniques to support you on your journey to achieve real results, and inspire you to lead the life you want. My goal for this podcast is to spark curiosity, expand your mind and encourage self-discovery that will empower you to take control of your well-being, achieve balance and get closer to your higher purpose in life.
In this episode, I speak with three professional women Lucy Denver, Catie Dear and Irmak Sunal Lutkin, who have come together to form "& Return," a community that supports parents in the workplace, returning to work from maternity and paternity leave.
Through their own personal experience they’re realised the lack of support and resources available for parents that are navigating through the ultimate juggle of parenthood and career. Unfortunately, the realities of pregnancy and parenthood are not typically a topic of discussion where workers feel they can be honest with their employers about their feelings, their challenges and if they need support.
Unfortunately when children are in the picture, . And As a result, working mums and dads feel the pressure to change career or find a new job to fit their new lifestyle and find challenging to stay with a company and progress further into a leadership position (especially mothers).
This is an area where companies should be more progressive. Especially with a stronger focus on employee well-being, supporting parents to achieve this balance can be valuable not only to the employee, but also the company as well. Thanks to recent research which we discuss more in this interview, there are so many reasons why organisations should be developing or improving programs for parents returning to work.
