In this wild ride of an episode, we talk ear wax, Lady Gaga, why academia isn't needed or valid, the ethics of test tube babies, future baby names, the Netflix show "Floor is Lava" of which Megan knows an enormous amount more than the regular person about, Biden, and never fully delve into the Armie Hammer cannibalism episode, but suffice to say, we will NOT be watching Mirror Mirror, Call Me By Your Name or the Man from U.N.C.L.E and swooning over Mr. Hammer anymore. In this week's episode, some hefty sneaky editing work had to be done but we think we've managed to cover our asses... for now. This week, Megan and Theo discuss his performance in The Correspondence, the hot man who was in another play, and spend an inordinate chunk of time discussing the Red Scare girls, and sort of reflect on the dumpster fire year of 2020. They are gonna keep trying to release weekly episodes, but the operative word is 'try'. Happy New Year!
That's right, we are back that fast... and... WITH OUR WORST AUDIO QUALITY YET! But our conversation on the rooftop of a mall in Singapore is one for the gods, yes mawma lip clock. In this special (bonus) episode to make up for a missed week, Megan and Theo take a deep-dive into all things discourse. Even though this was meant to make up for 1 missed week in August, we realize that we have since missed 4 additional weeks. Not to worry, we will be back with vengeance, even if no one asked for it. The discourse we discuss includes the legendary Caroline Calloway (CC!) herself, her friendship and falling out with ghostwriter Natalie Beach, Bella Thorne's Only Fans extravaganza with a dose of pseudo-Marxism and discussion on sex work, the problem with zoos, and how interesting it is to witness wealthy people posture as poor. In this long-delayed episode, Megan and Theo start off by discussing recent emotional dilemmas, then discuss The Social Network, social media, the Tik Tok gaze/gays, and cruising in Singapore. Even though Megan refuses to accompany me on a field trip to Macritchie Reservoir to observe and record an episode amongst our truest audience: the horny gays, I will not give up. For full transparency, this episode was recorded almost 3 weeks ago. I just couldn't be bothered to edit it. Sorry.
In this episode, Megan & Theo abandon the t-word (listening to select feedback) and the jokes for a more intellectual discussion... because they're intellectuals. Fuelled by their drinks - they discuss whether straight people should go to pride, modes of justice when it comes to sexual harassment in high school, sex AND the city that inspired it (because NYC invented sex), and crown Liza Minnelli as the only important person to exist, ever. Oh yeah they also discuss the emotional complexes of Singaporean men.
