Ladies and Gentlemen I’d like to introduce you to the Flatwoods Monster. Enjoy!

If you feel like this might be too hard to listen to, I understand, but sometimes we need to talk about monsters like this so we know what we can do if we find ourselves in a similar experience.
Did you know there was a house in New York that was legally declared haunted? In 1991 there was a legal battle between the buyer and seller of a 1890’s Victorian Style home and it's all because it was allegedly haunted. For this week's episode, I decided to use our great big book of cryptids to help us choose a topic. However, the one that we found may need us to put on our foil hats. It’s alleged that there was a race of people living in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina back in the 12th century. Yeah I know everything seems to go down in the Appalachian. How long does it take for an urban legend to make a name for itself? So get ready for a good one that's filled with tons of laughs (sorry in advance), but I hope you smile. Enjoy!
I feel like one of the things I search for while researching topics for an episode is whether something is the first of its kind or the most well known. So when the idea came up for this episode it only seemed fitting to find the most well known. Now this particular story dates all the way back to the 1600’s and it involves the dark arts and a culture connected to it more than they realize. This is the very true story of Catherine Monvoisin aka La Voisin! Take a break, grab a drink, and enjoy this week's episode.

One night in March during a seemingly quiet evening, there were a string of lights that brightened the night sky in the shape of a V. Eventually disappearing and reappearing a few hours in Phoenix in the shape of an arch. Many people were witness to this historic event and still to this day don’t have an explanation as to how these lights got here. Take a listen to this week's story about the Phoenix Lights and tell me what you think, Enjoy!
Off the coast of East Africa there is an Island called Zanzibar. Since the 1960’s there have been reports of a cryptid that has been attacking people in the night. It is said to have wings of a bat, the body of a man and the desire to attack anyone who doesn’t believe in it. If there’s a way to stop it, I'm still on the search to find it, but I do have some potential solutions. So grab a drink, relax a little and enjoy a new episode of Campfire Adventures.
Happy week of Valentine's Day Campers! I hope you're ready for a new episode because we have a good one for this holiday. In Brazil lives a creature known as the Pink River Dolphin, have you ever heard of it? They call the Amazon River home, but from time to time they want to come up on shore and spend a night with the humans. You might be wondering, how the heck are they going to make that happen? Well Campers as you already know things aren't always as they seem and these Dolphins might actually be cryptids!! So take a break, relax, and enjoy this week's episode.
Welcome back to another remix episode, this week we have Lory filling in as our guest host! She planned a fun and interesting story for us and as it turns out it's based in New Orleans. Make no mistake there is a reason this city has been featured 3 times on this podcast. The Paranormal and Crytids just can't seem to get enough from this supernatural hotbed and neither can we. In this episode Lory tells us all about one of the most haunted places in New Orleans, St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. After this story you might be ready to throw on your ghostbuster uniform and go hunting for spirits with us so give it a listen and enjoy!
Time to wrap up our time here in North Carolina and what better way to do that then with a story. This week I’d like to tell you about a vampiric cryptid that has been haunting the lands since the 1500’s. There have been stories told about a predator that hunts at night in search of human victims. No amount of security could prevent this cryptid from getting into your house and trying to steal your soul and not only that, it'll even take your skin as a prize if given the chance. For this week's episode I’d like to introduce you all to the Boo Hag. Enjoy!
If you followed along the podcast then you might have heard we went on a road trip. While we were on said trip, I got to meet up with some friends and family and tell stories about cryptids that lived across America. Well it's time for our first part 2 episode of the road trip because we came back to North Carolina to visit some fan favorite live audience members the Banks’. Now the last time we came to this state we covered the story of The Beast of Bladenboro. So this time I'd like to share the story of a Cherokee legend known as the U'lag‘û. Years and years ago there was a creature that hunted through the forest looking to swoop up children. The Cherokee tribe had to come up with a way to fight a beast that was the size of most houses and that could fly at lightning speed. Take a listen to this week's episode and find out what ended up happening. Enjoy!
Welcome to our 100th episode, let’s play a game shall we! Ok maybe not for real but a game is the inspiration for this special episode. For Christmas I was given a game called Horrified: American Monsters and it’s about saving a town from cryptids such as: Bigfoot, the Chupacabra, Mothman, Jersey Devil, the Ozark Howler, and one more cryptids that we actually haven’t told a story about. So for this episode I’d like to introduce you all to the Banshee of the Badlands! SHe roams the ground of the South Dakota National Park and waits for unsuspecting travelers to come her way. Be warned she is never truly alone and she isn’t interested in hearing stories of your travels. Take a listen to this week's episode to learn more about this Banshee but also to help us celebrate a major milestone for our podcast! Cheers to the 100th episode!
Our world is full of cryptids, legends, and myths. I’m not sure if we are going to be able to cover all of them, but I am happy to say that we are finally able to share the tale of Mummies and the Curse that comes along with them. Now I know that Mummies are real, but I’d like to take some time and share the story of the most famous mummy known to man and that is the one of King Tut. In 1922 the tomb of King Tut was opened and according to legend the Curse of the Mummy was unleashed and about half the research crew involved in examining the tomb died. So is it a curse, is it a coincidence or are they just headlines for newspapers? Take a listen to this week's episode and find out. Enjoy!
We’ve made it to the New Year and I already have some new adventures planned for us. To kick off the year I am finally going to tell a story I’ve been saving since the road trip. So, there is a mountain range in California that is home to a group of shadows that wait for unsuspecting hikers to cross their path. The mountains are known as the Santa Lucia and the shadows are called The Dark Watchers. For over 300 years these creatures have been known to stalk the mountain tops and legend has it that they are the cause for the disappearance of multiple people. Enjoy the story and Happy New Year!
Now that we have finished the Christmas season we have one more holiday we can celebrate and that is New Years!! So to celebrate we decided to honor the New Years with a themed episode. In this week's episode we are going to explore the international New Years celebration of Chinese New Years. Do you all know much about the history of this holiday? Well to start it was all created because of a cryptid! Yes, you read that right a cryptid started a whole holiday. So take some time to relax, listen to this week's episode and let's ring in the New Year together!
We are less than a week away from Christmas which means we have time for one more story about a Christmas cryptid! For this week's episode I want to share a story about a cryptid that has a lineage linked all over the world. It is known around the world and on our podcast as a legend and I just found out that it expanded its territory into the holidays. So without further adieu I’d like to introduce you all to the Christmas Bigfoot. Known in Serbia and Turkey as Karakoncolos and in Bulgaria as Karakondjul. He only comes out during the coldest days of the year in search of causing mischief and terror among the people who are unlucky enough to come into contact with him.
We are about 2 weeks away from Christmas and I have to say….I’m not ready! I hope I’m not the only one, but don't worry because I still have time to share a new story for you all. This week's holiday themed story has a bit of a twist. In Wales there is a cryptid that is resurrected every December in search of new victims. Only this cryptid isn’t hunting people to hurt them, but rather to spread holiday cheer and remind them about the idea of giving. Take a listen to this week's episode and learn more about the legend known as Mari Lwyd.
As Christmas gets closer and closer we learn more about the cryptids of the holiday season. One of these cryptids is known to only come out to hunt the night before Christmas. It’s believed to only hunt on the lands of Iceland. What is it searching for??? Well naughty children of course. In this week's episode I am going to tell you about the one and only Yule Cat. I'll tell you how to protect yourself, why he’s after children and what he does if you’ve been naughty or nice. Enjoy!
Who out there loves Christmas? Is it because you believe in Santa, feel the holiday spirit, or just because of the presents? If you chose any of those I wouldn't be mad at you at all, heck I would have picked all 3, but did you know there is more than one gift giver during the Christmas season? A legend about a man covered in tattered clothes and animal pelts with a sack over his shoulder and a bushel of branches in hand was told in Germany back in the 1700’s. This person or cryptid has since gotten world wide recognition and has been depicted in movies and tv shows. He helps Santa by coming to the homes and deciding whether kids have been good or bad, but there is a twist. Take a listen to this week's episode and let me know what you think. Happy Holidays!
How many of you out there believe in the power of a story? I’m hoping more of you said “yes” to that than “no,” because I mean you are listening to a podcast. But anyway I want to share a story that was told by a Grandfather to his two grandsons every year on Thanksgiving. The story involves: murder, ghosts, true crime and a search for justice that wouldn’t end. So if you enjoy these topics and want to hear a story that solved a crime then take a listen to our Thanksgiving episode. Enjoy!
Welcome back to our regularly scheduled podcast. This time we are concluding our Part 1 episode on The Loch Ness Monster. So far we know there is proof in the form of a footprint and also a hired monster hunter on the search for Nessie. In Part 2 of this podcast we bring up the famous photo of Nessie, talk about how advanced technology is used to evaluate our evidence and lastly how much I hope Nessie is real. Take some time to relax and enjoy this week's episode.
It’s my birthday today and as a gift from me to y’all out there in Podcastland I decided to record a special episode. What could be more special than finally recording an episode for the one and only Loch Ness Monster! So is she real or not? Well I may not have all the answers in this episode, but I decided to take us on a journey of all the major events that happened involving the search for Nessie. I hope you enjoy this week's episode and our search for the truth as much as I enjoy telling you all about it. Enjoy!
While recording our 12th episode of the podcast (Unsolved: The S.S. Ourang Medan) we touched on one of the Military’s most well known Conspiracy Theories. However it wasn’t until one of our listeners asked if we ever followed up on it that we decided to cover the story of the Philadelphia Experiment. This experiment had books and movies created surrounding some of the theories that people have about the various events that transpired back in 1943. No one truly knows what happened during this experiment, that is unless you just want to believe what the Navy says. But in this week's episode Lory takes over as host and gets justice for her childhood theory and goes through the various conspiracies surrounding this experiment. Enjoy!
This week's episode is going to be told during the time of Dia de los Muertos. A time after Halloween when the separation between the human and spirit world is nonexistent and spirits can travel freely to see their family and friends. During this time a story about La Xtabay gets told as a warning for those willing to hear it. A woman dressed in all white, who has black hair and big black eyes is on the hunt for her next victim. She spends her time looking around the jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula. How did this spirit become what she is, what is Dia de los Muertos and should we fear La Xtabay? Take a listen to this week's episode and find out, enjoy!
He Campers, I’d like to give you a disclaimer on this week's episode. The subject material is a little more heavy this time around because we are covering true crime. We are going to talk about a monster that hides itself in plain sight and they do it so well because this monster is in fact a human. This week's episode covers the true story and crimes of Ed Geins. A man whose life inspired movies like: Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho and Silence of the Lambs. He was responsible for murder, grave robbing and so much more. Take a listen to this week's episode and hear about it.
One night in November 1975 was all it took to forever change the life of Travis Walton and his 5 coworkers. They went out for a normal day of work and on their way home they came face to face with a UFO. Travis decided to leave the truck to get a closer look, but it would prove to be one of the greatest mistakes Travis could have made. 40 years later this story has been claimed as one of the most well documented and highly recognized alien abduction in human history, It's so well documented that Travis Walton wrote a book about the events. Take a listen to this week's episode as we uncover the inspiring story behind the movie and book. Enjoy!
In our second special October episode we continue to explore the idea of poltergeist in movies/real life. We decided to use The Exorcist for this week's episode and can I just say this episode is one of the craziest ones yet. The story behind the exorcist starts in 1949 and follows the 4 month traumatic experience of Ronald Doe, a 14 year old boy from Cottage City, Maryland. In early 1949 strange things started to happen in Ronald's life like knocking sounds from inside his room walls, his bed sliding around the room and his unexplainable ability to speak Latin, a language he never knew. After seeking help from almost everyone available, it seemed like hope was lost until a team of Catholic priests got involved. So what happened? How do we know these stories? Was he really under a poltergeist? Take a listen to this week's episode and find out.
In 1977 there were a lot of landmark events that changed the course of history and for one family that event would eventually be turned into a movie we all know as The Conjuring 2. The Hodgson family which consists of a mom named Peggy, her two daughters Margaret, and Janet as well as her two sons Johnny and Billy lived at 284 Green Street in Enfield, North London. One fateful night a knocking noise broke the silence of this families home, from that night it rippled into an 18 month supernatural haunting. During this time, their lives were filled with paranormal investigators coming into their home, spiritual possessions and destruction and levitations caused by inhuman entities. For this weeks story I decided to tell the true story of the Hodgson poltergeist and hope that gives us all a more clear picture of the events that forever changed our history with the supernatural, but also for this family. Get ready because this ones a heavy one, blankets ready and now we listen.
There is a cryptid out there that may or may not be the hero we didn’t know we all needed. Coming straight from the underworld there is a supernatural canine known as a Hellhound. This week's cryptid is super powerful and so huge it's sheer size would be enough to scare you to death. However, this cryptid is on a mission to go out every night to collect souls and take them to where they belong. Sometimes that soul will go upstairs and other times it goes to the one and only H E double hockey sticks. But, is this week's cryptid a protector or a tyrant and can we protect ourselves? If you wanna find out then give this week's episode a listen and I hope you have a laugh along the listen. Enjoy!
Welcome back to another episode of Campfire Adventures. This week's episode is a shout out to our Canadian audience! I wanted to share a story of a cryptid from the Great White North, so ladies and gentlemen let me tell you the tale of the legendary Sluagh. This winged creature was once human and thanks to the deeds they did during their life instead of moving on they were turned into a Sluagh. For the rest of their existence they are forced to travel in a flock of these cryptids in search of dying souls to collect. Now, they aren't opposed to attacking any human and if you wanna know how to save yourself in this scenario take a listen to this week's episode. You might need your blanket for this one so have it ready just in case. Enjoy!
In the forest across America there is a cryptid that lurks in the shadows searching for their next meal. Welcome back campers for another new episode of Campfire Adventures. This is an episode I'd like to use as an excuse to tell you all about an adventure I took in South Korea with one of my best friends Caden. So for this week I am sharing the tale of a Kumiho which in South Korea is a spirit of a fox with nine tails! I know, I know you immediately thought of the Pokémon Ninetales and if you didn't then I'm sure you are now lol. Anyway this spirit is on an endless search to trick a human and eventually eat their heart and liver! Yup they are pretty intense and you might be thinking, well this wouldn't happen to me because I will see a fox with nine tails, but what if I told you they can shapeshift! This story is filled with twists and turns, but also tons of laughs. So grab a drink, relax and enjoy this week's episode!
Hey Campers guess what we did for this week's episode ... Did you guess? Well, we finally recorded an episode at the beach and this time we had a bonfire!!! Ok ok we didn't record the story with the fire on, but we lit it at night and had some smores. More importantly we told a story continuing the legend of Duendes. Only this time instead of telling the folktale from the perspective of Filipino culture this time we told the Latin American version. So join us in learning something new, hear about another live audience members' experience with this cryptid and also enjoy the sounds associated with the beach in this week's episode. As a heads up just make sure you are polite and not doing anything that could provoke one of these cryptids. Enjoy!
Hey Campers, I hope you are having a great week so far. I’d like to reintroduce you all to one of the most legendary cryptids out there, a Yeti! Now what do we really know about this Cryptid? Maybe that they are covered in all white fur, that they live in the Himalayan Mountains and also maybe that they are related to Bigfoot! Sup Campers! Welcome back to another episode of Campfire Adventures, but this ones a remix... I'd like to introduce you all once again to the Whoopinator aka Hot Granny. She prepared her very first story and is excited to share it with you all out there in podcastland. So grab your blankets and get ready to hear a story about an abandoned island full of dolls. The legend surrounding the island is a pretty insane one and we would like to ask if you think Julian is innocent or not? Enjoy the story and I hope you laugh about our adventures out in LA. P.S. hi Harry Styles.
Welcome back to a very special episode of Campfire Adventures. I’d like to first apologize for some technical difficulties with this week's episode, but don’t worry the story is still on par with our other ones. Now this episode is so cool because we actually have a guest on the episode that has their own experience with this cryptid. To get rid of the effects this cryptid caused her she had to go visit a witch doctor. Yup, you read that right, a witch doctor. I’d like to introduce you all to the Duwende of the Philippines. Enjoy!
Back in the 16th Century religion was getting well established in Scotland and at the same time so was the legend of this week's cryptid. There is a malevolent spirit out there that for all eternity is searching for and collecting the souls of the living. What are these cryptids called you ask, well they are known as a Wraith. Now I'm sure you might be wondering what these creatures look like, if you’ve ever watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and remember the Dementors that would be the best thing to visualize. So in this week's episode we cover the history of Wraiths, we cover what they are, if there are different types and also how to fight one off. Take a break and relax while you listen to this week's episode. Enjoy!
How many of us out there have heard of Bigfoot? What about La Llorona? Maybe even the Mothman? I'm sure some of you probably have heard of these cryptids, but today I'd like to introduce you all to a cryptid that gained its popularity in 2007. In a CITY called Fresno in CA there has been a legend going around about a pair of haunted pants! Yup, you read that correctly a pair of haunted pants and they have been dubbed the Fresno Nightcrawlers. Now one of the hardest things to pinpoint was what does this cryptid want and has anyone ever dealt with them in person. I know this one’s hard to swallow, but check out this week's story so you can hear about this new cult classic cryptid. Also I’m posting some videos so if you creep out easily, maybe make sure your clothes are put away just on the off chance your pants start to act up!
So what do we know about Gnomes? Well we know a little thanks to Patrice, and that is in the border of Scotland and England there are blood thirsty gnomes that call the area home. But as we know from that episodes there are gnomes that can be found all around the world. So I'd like to let this weeks guest host Lory, introduce you all to a jungle gnome found in The Amazon known as The Chullachaqui. As you listen to this weeks episode keep an open mind, because if you can connect the dots you might have an enlightening moment. Also once again I don’t think our impenetrable forcefield can protect us, but don’t worry because Lory will tell you what to look out for to stay safe. Enjoy!
In a village in England there is a legend that has been shared since the 1700’s. For parents they took the legend as a warning for their children. That once the sun starts to set its time for children to come inside, because if they don’t then there is a cryptid that leaves her cave in search for a new child like victim. Now if she is able to grab a child during her hunt, it is said that they are never seen again. Also, it seems like as humans advanced over time, The Black Annis also had to adapt. So if you find yourself outside after dark just make sure you listen for her howling off in the distance, that means she's far away, but if you hear teeth grinding close to you then be ready to run because that means she's close to you. Enjoy our 3rd remix episode narrated by the one and only Marquessa!
Do you ever walk into a room and think, hmmm there's some bad vibes here that I’m not feeling? Or have you been doing some chores and then out of the corner of your eye you see something moving or watching you, but when you turn to see it, it's gone? If you answered yes to either of these questions then I’d like to say don’t worry because you're not alone! And if you were ever wondering what these things really were or who caused these bad vibes then I’d like to introduce you all to the Shadow People. Take a listen and learn how these beings have haunted humanity for hundreds of years. As if that's not enough to interest you, we also uncover the most famous Shadow Person known as The Hat Man. This ones intense so make sure you have your blankets ready. Enjoy!

We will hear some history, great interpretations of the English/Scottish accent (ok they aren't that great, but we tried) and the most important thing is to hear how to survive an encounter with one of these gnomes. Grab a drink because it's time to relax and enjoy this week's episode.
Who remembers watching those shows as a child where kids were dared to go stay the night at a cemetery? Maybe you thought this was a good idea and maybe you actually did it. But can we be honest with each other for a second? You had to have been scared. I mean if anything you were in a cemetery, but what if there was a cryptid that called cemeteries home and had an appetite for human flesh? Now if you said “Zombie” that's cryptist (cryptid racist) just kidding, but the cryptid I'm talking about is known as a Ghoul. A Ghoul is its own entity and what I hope to do with this episode is give this cryptid its overdue moment in the spotlight. So it's time to grab a drink and join Patrice and I for a listen to “Justice for Ghouls!” Enjoy!

Alone these witches might not be intimidating, but what if I told you they have their own society? What if I told you they have been around for over 1000 years? In Kansas there is a cryptid that has been known to the locals since the 1950's. You wouldn't believe it, but this monster is a 15ft long worm that calls the largest lake in Kansas home. With only three sightings people have struggled to try and prove that this creature is not just a myth. Newspapers started to fly off the shelf when the stories of the now dubbed Sinkhole Sam started to be printed. So what is Sinkhole Sam? Should the locals fear this 15ft worm? Is Sam related to the Mongolian Death Worm? Find out today on our newest episode of Campfire Adventures.
We recorded a special episode to celebrate Campfire Adventures first birthday. It was the first time since our road trip that we sat around the original firepit and shared a story with the friends and family that have supported our podcast. For me the perfect story for this night had to be connected to Ireland because our bday is on St Patrick's Day and also have a connection to our first episode about a Vampire. Well if you were wondering if we were able to pull it off, then the answer is yes, with the legend of Abhartach. Abhartach was a tyrant of a leader who possessed magical abilities. He terrified his clan during his entire life, but it was after he died and raised himself from the grave that things seemed to take a turn for the worst. So will the clan's people survive? Will Abhartach torment his former clan forever? Or will someone come to save the day? Help us celebrate Campfire Adventures birthday and find out all the answers to these questions by listening to this new episode. Enjoy and thanks for listening!
In Missouri there is a mountain range that is surrounded by lakes and rivers, it's known as the Ozarks. Every year locals and tourists alike travel to hike, boat and just kick back and enjoy the scenery made popular by Netflix's famous show of the same name (Ozarks.) But what some people don't know is that there is a cryptid that calls the land home and because it doesn't stray too far from the mountains it has been dubbed The Ozark Howler. For over 200 years the legend of this Howler has been passed down from generation to generation. Now depending on which version you heard you might know this cryptid as a witches pet demon, or maybe even an omen that death will soon be knocking at your door and if those aren't enough there is legend that says if you offend the Ozark Howler he might just set your place on fire. So is he real, well I'm not 100% sure, but I do know that you might be able to make your own assumptions after listening to the newest episode of our podcast. Enjoy!
There is a town in Arkansas called Fouke, it currently has a population of about 850 people so if something ever happened it wouldn't take long for word to spread around. Well in the early 1900's reports of a Wildman living in the forest surrounding the town started to make its way throughout the town. As the years passed more and more sightings were reported until finally an incident in 1971 caught the attention of major news outlets and radio stations among various towns and states. Since this moment many people within the town and multiple tourists have claimed to have their own encounter or sighting of this cryptid. It has since been dubbed the Fouke Monster and even has a movie and festival made about it, but what are the chances of this creature actually being real and even more so what does it want? Take a listen to this week's episode of Campfire Adventure to hear what we think. Enjoy!
In 1969 reports of an unknown creature lurking in the forest around Greer Island in Fort Worth, TX filled headlines. People would come to the island/lake to enjoy the view and relax during their leisure time. However, during the year of 1969 the public started to fear the story of a 7ft tall bigfoot/goat hybrid creature were true. Some people claimed that this Lake Worth Monster jumped on cars, others said it would swing from the tree and one man said this cryptid actually slashed his car! But as soon as all these reports and sightings started to build up, the creature vanished and to this day there haven't been any new sightings. Listen to this week's episode and decide for yourself if you'd pass on a trip to visit Greer Island.
Who doesn't enjoy going to a bed and breakfast, I mean the name alone says they have everything you could want, or does it? Well if you're like me then you like to have your eggs served with a side of paranormal activity (ok yes and with the blankets readily available to protect you.) Nonetheless, where would one find a place like that? Well I know of a place in Louisiana that checks all these boxes and it's called The Myrtles Plantation. With over 200 years of history in Louisiana it's crazy to think that from its very existence it was connected to the supernatural. I guess I should clarify this a little, they actually built this home over a Native American Burial Ground...yeah if that doesn't scream paranormal I don't know what would. So enjoy the latest episode of Campfire Adventures and hear about how this home from the late 1790's has been given the title of one of the most haunted homes in America.
In 1973 an event would take place in Jackson County, Mississippi that would forever live in infamy. Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker decided to take a fishing trip to Pascagoula River and spend the whole day trying to reel in the biggest fish. Day slowly faded into night and the two saw a light slowly approaching them and thought it must be the sheriff. To their surprise it turned into an Unidentified Flying Object and at that moment the two knew they were in real trouble. For years these two lived turmoil over people either believing them or calling them crazy. It wasn't until 50 years in the future that the county's view of the two changed and an unexpected revelation to what actually happened that night would come to light. Check out the latest episode of Campfire Adventures and don't forget to get your blankets ready! Enjoy!
Step right up and listen to this week's episode of Campfire Adventures! That's right folks, for this week only the episode on White Thang will be the newest episode of this podcast. Tune in wherever you get your podcast to hear about how the all white cousin of bigfoot has made history in Winston County Alabama. Hear about whether this cryptid should be feared or celebrated. We talk about, first of all, how cool this cryptids name is! We also cover 3 various sightings and dealings with White Thang. If that's not enough for you I also tell you all a story about how I was attacked by a cicada! Find out how all these stories end now by listening to this week's episode. P.S. Enjoy!
Who misses hearing about aquatic cryptids? Ok well that's a relief because I thought it might have just been me, but we have a new one for you all this week. In Georgia there lives an aquatic cryptid known as the Altamaha-ha a.k.a. Altie. It has called the Altamaha River and the waterways around it home since the 1800's. Although this creature may have been seen multiple times, actual proof of its existence has still proven hard to find. Listen to this week's episode and see what we know about this creature and maybe figure out if you just might be able to prove once and for all that Altie exists. Enjoy!
Have any of you out there ever done one of those genealogy tests? You know the ones that tell you your family history and if you have greatness running through your veins. Well if today's cryptid does this it would find out it is related to the one and only Bigfoot. Yeah I know the Bigfoot lineage stretches all across the United States, hell I might get tested just to see if by chance he's my cousin too! But I digress, today's creature is local to Florida and is so popular that in addition to having a website and a museum it also has a headquarters dedicated to proving it's existence! I didn't get a chance to visit this headquarters, but give this week's episode a listen and find out where it is just in case you get to visit and you'll also learn some information on who the Skunk Ape is. Enjoy!
Let's say you come face to face with a cryptid and live to tell the tale, do you tell someone? I know the first thing you're thinking, I bet if I tell someone they are going to call me crazy, but what happens if they don't? On today's episode of Campfire Adventures we are introduced to a kid named Christopher Davis and on a super early drive he had some car trouble and had to pull over next to a well known swamp. He gets out and fixes the car and just when he gets ready to leave he hears wet sounding footsteps creep closer and closer to him. As he gets in the car and locks the door he is frightened when a giant lizard-like creature tries to force its way into his car. He gets away just barely and rushes back to town to tell anyone who will listen to his story, but do they believe him or do they just brush him off? Take a listen and hear of the fate that awaits both Christopher and this mysterious swamp creature.
Who has a pet out there? If you answered yes then wouldn't you agree there isn't anything you wouldn't do to protect them? Well picture it, it's the 1950's, the state is North Carolina and we're in a town named Bladenboro. There's a beast that roams the town looking for unguarded pets. It's hoping to catch them and call them dinner for the evening. Yeah I know, this cryptid is almost automatically one of the worst we've talked about on this podcast just for that reason alone. But that won't stop the townspeople because they rally together in hopes of putting a stop to this creature's sinister acts. As pets continue to vanish so do sightings of the beast now dubbed The Beast of Bladenboro. That is until it's mysterious resurrection almost 50 years later. Check out this week's episode to see who wins this one, the townspeople and their pets or a beast that takes 50 year naps. Enjoy!
We're knocking out all these road trip episodes pretty quickly, like we only have 18 more episodes left to release! This one though is a pretty special one for us. We almost recorded this episode early on in our podcast life for my niece, but I'm glad we saved it and was able to do this on our trip. In this episode we dabble in true crime and discuss two different theories of how this legend came to be. So is the Bunnyman an escaped mental patient or is he yet another boogeyman created to scare children on Halloween night? Listen to the newest episode of Campfire Adventures and find out! Enjoy!
To one of our favorite artists here is your credit. Thank you for the best post cards out there!
I wanted to surprise you all with a bonus episode this holiday season. I know we are still working through all our road trip episodes, but it's the holidays so I figured an extra episode wouldn't hurt anyone. Also did you know that even the holidays can't escape being associated with cryptids? Well there is a day that many know as St Nicholas Day, it usually falls on December 6th and it's a day where Saint Nicholas would go around and reward good children with treats. But what about the children who were naughty? Do they get any gifts? Well it's believed that Saint Nicholas had a companion known as Krampus and he is the one who would deal with all the naughty children. You may have heard of Krampus from movies, books and maybe local legends, but now it's time to hear about him from Campfire Adventures. Take a minute and listen to this short, but sweet bonus holiday episode. Happy Holidays from Campfire Adventures!
This week's cryptid is pretty unique, either we are recording an episode on another type of boogeyman or we are learning about a creature who was created in a lab and broke out into the forests of Maryland. For year the locals have heard legend of a half man and half goat creature who has been terrorizing Maryland's people and their pets. Known as the Goatman, he is said to hunt for human flesh while wielding an axe. Both people and pets have gone missing with no explanation, investigators believe a number of these victims have been butchered with an axe and some are even missing flesh. Take a listen to this episode I recorded with my niece and let me know what you think. P.S. there's a lot of laughing lol.
We've reached an episode I've been waiting to do since we started this podcast. I know we cover stories of cryptids that scare and terrorize towns and even haunted chairs that are looking for souls, but what about a cryptid that's just trying to warn people who might be in danger? This weeks episode is about the one and only Mothman of West Virginia. He was only seen for a handful of times through the 1960's and more recently in 2016. But what could a creature that's described as a bigfoot sized moth want from a small town in West Virginia? Some say he was trying to warn the people of a bridge that was going to collapse and others say the Mothman was never really there. Whether this cryptid is real or not the people of Point Pleasant, WV created a museum and even started a festival to celebrate the sightings of the Mothman and also maybe in hopes to understand this cryptid a little more. Take a listen and let me know what you think.
Alright I think this might be a first for our podcast. We've talked about the classic monsters and cryptids, but this time we are talking about a phantom light! On a dark night off the coast of Delaware it's said that you can see a light helping guide people to the shore. However, if for some reason you follow this beacon of hope you might be in for rocky landing! Take a listen to this week's episode and see how a curse was put on the coast of Delaware and for the past few centuries it's been believed to wreak havoc to locals and ships alike. It's a short, but sweet episode and I'm sure you're going to enjoy it!
Who wants to talk about witches again? I think I heard a few "I Do's" out there so get ready because this next stop on the road trip is the perfect place to pick up the topic of witches. Welcome everyone to the one and only Salem, Massachusetts and this stop wouldn't be complete if we didn't talk about The Salem Witch Trials. I feel like this is an event we've all heard about whether it was from school or even movies like Hocus Pocus! I remember hearing that Witches were hung for their magical escapades and that the people who accused them were justified. However, now that I look into the history more, I think we might have been wrong. That what we actually did was sentence innocent people to their death all because....well I guess because we wanted too?! I'm not sure if that's how I should say that, but why don't you take a listen and decide for yourself! Learn about what Sarah Osborne, Sarah Good and Tituba went through while being accused of being the first three witches in The Salem Witch Trials!
Join me and my live audience for our newest episode of Campfire Adventures! That's right I wrote live audience because we once again made some friends and they were more than happy to join us for this recording in Maine. Today's story is of a Specter Moose who has been known to the people of Maine since the 1800's. There have been stories of people trying to hunt it, of people who were scared out of their mind by just running into this specter and even tales of this moose rescuing people who were sure to face certain death. This might not be the scariest story we've ever shared, but for someone like me who just wanted to see a moose on this road trip this episode made that goal an almost reality, plus we made some new friends. So if you have some time and like to hear this tale, push play and enjoy!
Has anyone out there felt like things just weren't going there way? Almost like there were forces beyond your control stopping you from living your best life? Well if you said "yes" then you wouldn't be alone. I'd like to tell you all the story of the first and only woman to be accused of being a witch in New Hampshire, Eunice "Goody" Cole. Honestly from what I read it seemed as is Eunice was always given the short end of the stick in her life and as it would turn out even giving the situation time wouldn't stop the unbelievable from happening. In this weeks episode you will hear how Eunice endured years of torment and what she went through in her struggle to survive. Was justice served? Was she a witch? Does it matter? Listen to this weeks episode and find out for yourself. Enjoy!
Anddddd were back with another new episode of Campfire Adventures! Have any of you ever been to Vermont? Well as you know before we embarked on this road trip I had never been to the East Coast of America before. So when I thought of Vermont I thought of beautiful trees and maple syrup, but little did I know there was also a cryptid that would call this state home. In the forest of Northfield Vermont there resides a creature with the body of man and the head of a pig! Some say the birth of this crytid followed the disappearance of a teen named Sam Harris on the Eve of Halloween night in 1951! Others say it's just a spirit or myth made up by local people. But, if you search the forest and caves of the local area, you may come across the bones of The Pigman's latest victim. Tune in now and enjoy this short, but sweet episode.
Here's a surprise for you and me! This is an bonus impromptu episode that was never suppose to be released. Let me set the scene, picture it July 16th 2021. The CREW and I were at The Banks' House and while relaxing outside we decided to try our luck at recording our own versions of scary stories. The Corgi's tried to get in the mix as we sit around a candle and tell our tall tales. Listen to this surprise episode of Campfire Adventures as my gift to you for my Birthday! That's right November 13th is my Bday and I thought it would be nice to share this day by sharing a bonus episode with you. Enjoy!
What do you know about tuberculosis (T.B.)? No pressure if you don't really know anything about it other than maybe you have the vaccine to prevent it. However in this episode I'll tell you all about this past illness and even how in the late 1800's people once thought this disease was actually proof that vampires existed! So in this weeks episode we will learn how America's Last Vampire got her fame, but maybe it was all for the wrong reasons. Listen now and hear for yourself how one families run in with T.B. would change their lives and those of the community forever!
We got another TWOFER on the podcast! In this episode we are in Connecticut and I'd like to welcome you all to another state that is a hotbed of paranormal activity. Not only is this the state that the famous demonologist Ed and Lorraine Warren called home, but there are two well known cryptids known to live here as well, the Glawackus and Melon Heads. Although they are famous for different reasons, they have been known to torment the locals for years. Take a listen to the newest edition to this podcast and also find out which one of these two creatures has a taste for human flesh!! Enjoy!
The Story of Cropsey was told to children to scare them from staying out after the sun went down. And you know what? It worked! It worked so well that the once urban legend turned real with a man named Andre Rant. He would snatch children from the streets of New York and his reign of terror over the community seemed like it would never end. This weeks episode is a first for our podcast as we tie a once urban legend into a real true crime tale. Tune in and listen to the story of a real life boogeyman that tormented children and families between the 70's and 80's.
Have you ever wondered if you were related to a Cryptid? Ok if you don't know what a Cryptid is, its basically a creature that we know of, but don't actually have proof of its existence! Any who there are some people out in New Jersey who have a family connection to the states very own demon. That's right New Jersey has a state demon and its the one and only Jersey Devil! It's been claimed to have be seen since the 1700's and has been known to terrorize the public, farmland and even kill cattle. Take a listen to todays episode and find out what happens when one comes face to face with The Jersey Devil. Enjoy!
Having a bad hair day? Nothing fitting right? Is that a zit? Well those all seem like a life threatening disaster to deal with, but none of these issues come close to what a SQUONK deals with on a daily! Hiding in the shadows in hopes of not being seen by judgmental eyes. The SQUONK has spent it's existence hiding from humans as well as from itself! On moonlit nights, tales are told that you can hear them cry out at their own appearance. Now, no one has ever gotten a picture of this cryptid, however the famous band Genesis actually wrote a song about them! So take a listen to this weeks episode and see how you fell about the SQUONKS at the end of it! Enjoy!
With only four sightings in the last 100 years, this cryptid is pretty much a mystery. But even with what we do know about The Loveland Frogman, I'd rather not have on a one on one meeting. From Businessmen, to Police Officers to even some teen kids there have been witnesses with various encounters of this creature. Some say the Ohio Frogman actually has powers and if that's not enough to creep you out there might not just be one! Take a listen to this weeks episode and hear about the escapades the crew and I had as well as if the witnesses stories all check out. Enjoy!
OK, so who out there believes in life outside of our planet? Well if you do then join me in getting our foil hats ready for our first ever alien episode! In Kentucky while a family was enjoying their together time, an unexpected guest came to crash the party. From dusk until dawn this family would have to decide on their attack plan for survival. Eventually Police, Military and Media reinforcements would come to their aid, but what help could they really be? I know, what is this the true story of E.T.? Well actually this story might have been the inspiration for it! Listen to today's episode and learn about a day in Kentucky history that would forever change the way we believe in and perceive aliens! P.S. a blanket wouldn't hurt to have around when listening to this episode. Enjoy!
Let me ask you a question? Do any of you out there ever wonder if there is some inter galactic war happening between different mythical creatures? Well I do, and actually in this episode we might hear hints of this being a reality for The Tennessee Wildman and a cryptid we discussed in a previous episode. Described as a large, strong and fearsome creature, this Wildman broke out of his confides and escaped into the wild. Since the 1800's people have feared coming face to face with this monster and to be completely honest … they should be! I hear this cryptid is aggressive and has a distinctive smell one soon wouldn't forget! So check out today's episode and hear it's tale now.
P.S. Sorry for the Cicada sound being so loud I was surrounded by them!
What's the best way to escape the heat on a hot day? Well first, lets just assume that there's no AC, so what can you come up with? The first thing that comes to mind for me is going to the pool or the beach and then after that I guess breaking down and going to buy a fan. Well if you don't have access to either a pool or a beach don't forget there are always a river available to go enjoy, I mean what's the worst thing that can happen? Well that's exactly what two best friends (Darwin Johnson & Chris Lamble) thought one hot summer day in Indiana on 1955! Only when they got to the river they would soon realize they weren't alone. Whoever and whatever this thing was, wasn't just there to swim they were hunting for food and it set it's eyes on the girls. Listen to todays episode to find out what happens to Darwin and Chris! P.S. there's a special shout out to one of my favorite podcasts so make sure to stick around at the end for a good podcast suggestion. Enjoy!
There is a creature in Michigan that has been haunting the locals once every 10 years. Some say its half man and half dog, others think that its a Werewolf! But whatever this monster is it is slowly growing it's courage to be around humans! First it just walked by people, then you'll hear how it stood face to face with a kid and the last encounter we'll discuss you'll have to listen to the episode to see how that turned out! In fact I have the actual audio from that encounter for all of you to listen to on the website. So take a minute to listen to this short, but sweet episode of Campfire Adventures. Enjoy!
When there's a scratch at the door do you answer it? Well in the 1970's a man named Henry McDaniel opened the door to a scratching noise and what he saw would change his life forever. News of his discovery made its way to the police and soon to the public! The result of this news was that people from all over came to Illinois to see if they can see the creature Henry saw that night! Some tried to hunt it, some tried to film it and others tried to hid from it! Check out the latest episode of Campfire Adventures and find out what the creature is and if I needed a blanket or not to tell the story!!! Hope you all enjoy!

Have any of you ever visited the beautiful plains of North Dakota? Well if you haven't yet don't worry because I have and as a warning I would say if you see a red color making its way through the Missouri River (yes the Missouri River travels through North Dakota!) its better you look away and not look back! Why you ask? Well there is a creature so unique it is a combination of Bigfoot, Colossal Claude and even the Chupacabra and it call's this river in North Dakota home. It doesn't use its strength to hurt people it actually might be more helpful to humanity than we might think, but the psychological damage it can inflict can lead to the end of ones existence! So get your blankets ready and maybe a cup of hot chocolate because along with my special impromptu live audience we will dive into the story of The Miniwashitu.
We made it to Montana and a National Park I've always wanted to visit, The Glacier National Park. For those of you who don't know Montana is a hot spot for paranormal activity, I know what a shock! So on todays episode we learn about two specters that call frequently traveled areas in Montana home. We've reached the third stop on this road trip and I found out something pretty interesting! You know how we only really think of the Loch Ness Monster as being the sea creature that calls the ocean home? Well obviously now we know that he's not alone because of Colossal Claude, but there are actually multiple creatures that call the deep sea their home. Which leads me to introduce you all to Caddy! A serpent like sea creature that calls the waters between Canada and Washington State home. With over 300 sightings since the 1930's it would be amazing if there was one picture of this unrealistic beast, but unfortunately there isn't. So listen to todays episode and see if you were one of the quote unquote lucky people to see the greatness that is Caddy.
The second creature on our trip across America is a creature that calls the deps of The Colombia River and the Pacific Ocean home. It stretches over 40ft long (almost 10 of those feet are just for his neck!!), he propels his body through the water with his 4 large fins and he has a head shaped like a horse/snake hybrid! I know what your thinking, but no the Lock Ness Monster doesn't vacation here in the U.S. But if you find yourself in Oregon (our second stop) then take some time and look along the coast because if your lucky you just might sight today's creature Colossal Claude. Enjoy today's episode!
We are starting this trip off with the one the only Bigfoot. Standing tall at 10ft with hair all over and feet at a whopping 20inches long Bigfoot has roamed the lands of America and Canada for centuries. In todays episode you will find out why he is considered California's monster, if you should be scared of him and you'll even hear what he sounds like. There is a ship named the S.S. Ourang Medan and after it set sail in late 1940’s multiple distress signals where sent while it was on its voyage. When a rescue ship finally reached the them and found the crew the sight they saw would scar them for life. To this day no one truly knows the events that transpired when the S.S.
