Are you afraid of what could still go wrong? A lot of us carry a fear about the future, and it reshapes how we pray. We start asking God for the small things because we're scared to hand Him the big one, the one that would wreck us if the answer came back no.

In this episode, we sit in Romans 8:37-38, two verses that don't promise a future with no hard things in it. They promise something you need a lot more. Paul goes corner by corner through every place fear can hide, your body, the things you can't see, time itself, every direction, and in each one he leaves a mark that says God's love already got here first. Not one thing in all creation can separate you from it, including the future you're afraid of. Rachel also shares a moment from a recent interview at Daystar, where God used her words about her daughter Taylor to reach the man interviewing her in a grief she had no idea he was carrying.

You'll discover:

  • Why fear about the future doesn't mean your faith is failing
  • How to pray Romans 8 by finding exactly where your fear lives on Paul's list
  • What "more than conquerors" really means (and what it doesn't)
  • How God's love moves straight through the thing you're most afraid of

You are not praying to a God who's limited by what scares you. You're praying to the One whose love already reached the place you don't want to go.

You've prayed about it more times than you can count. You've said the words, cried the tears, done all the asking. And now you're just standing there, waiting to see if God is actually going to move this time. That in-between place, after you've prayed but before you've seen anything, is one of the hardest places to stand in the whole life of faith.

In this episode, the first in our For the Winning series, we sit with the prophet Habakkuk, who shows us what to do in exactly that place. After he brings his honest complaint to God, he climbs up to his watchpost and stations himself to watch for God's answer to come. Not once he feels hopeful. Not once he can see something on the horizon. First. We'll look at what it means to take that same watching posture in your own long wait, why the very act of watching is itself a quiet act of hope, and how the missionary Hudson Taylor discovered that God is often already moving long before we can see it.

You'll discover:

  • Why expectancy is a posture you can choose, not a feeling you wait around to have
  • What Habakkuk's watchtower teaches us about quieting the noise and getting ready to actually hear from God
  • Why the fact that you're still watching means you haven't lost hope
  • How a group of missionaries watched God provide exactly what they'd prayed for, right on time
  • The reason you can keep watching even when the horizon looks completely empty

Wherever you are in your wait today, I pray this episode gives you the courage to climb back up on the wall and keep watching. God has never once been unfaithful to the people who look for Him.

Do you lie awake at night bracing for everything that could go wrong, feeling like you're the only one keeping your family and your own heart safe? If you're exhausted from standing guard, this episode is for you.

This week, Rachel opens Psalm 4:8 and the devotional "The Way He Protects Your Heart" from her new book, Praying through Life's Battles. She unpacks the enemy's lie that your heart is unprotected and worry has every right to take over, and the very different strategy God gives in answer to it: when you praise Him for His protection, His peace becomes a fortress around your mind. Rachel also shares her own story of the nights her husband worked a night shift, when she stayed awake afraid, and the simple practice that finally let her lie down.

You'll discover:

  • The difference between guarding your heart alongside God and trying to guard it in His place
  • How to tell whether your watchfulness is coming from trust or from fear
  • The enemy's lie about your unprotected heart, and how to recognize it in real time
  • Why praise, not vigilance, is what invites God's peace to guard your mind
  • What Psalm 4:8 reveals about resting before your circumstances change

If you're worn out from trying to protect everything yourself, this episode will remind you that there is Someone whose watch this actually is, and He never once needs you to stay awake to help Him keep it.

Have you ever prayed for something so specifically that you could picture exactly what the answer should look like, only to watch the years go by while nothing happened?

Eventually you stop expecting anything at all. You start praying with your eyes half-closed, bracing for disappointment instead of watching for good.

In this episode, Rachel opens up Psalm 81:10, where God says, "Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it," and Psalm 77:14, where a man in the pit fights his way back to faith by remembering what God has already done. Together they show us how to live with real expectancy again, while also asking God for the vision to recognize His answers when they arrive in a shape we never would have drawn. Rachel shares a story from her own life that's unfolding right now, a "more than you ask or imagine" moment she gave up on more than a decade ago that God was quietly setting up the whole time.

You'll discover:

  • Why expectancy is built on memory, not wishful thinking
  • How to keep praying with hope after you've been disappointed before
  • What to do when you're afraid you'll miss God's answer because it doesn't match your picture
  • How remembering what God has done becomes a weapon in the warring season
  • Why God's timing and His methods so often look nothing like ours (and why that's good news)

If you've been carrying an old prayer you quietly let go of, this episode is your reminder to keep your eyes open and your mouth open wide. You just never know what God wants to do, or how, or when.

Have you ever felt like you are carrying something really heavy and you're doing it all by yourself? Nobody knows what it's costing you. Maybe you're so worn down that fighting for even one more day sounds impossible.

If that's where you are, this episode will help! Rachel walks through one of Scripture's most dramatic moments. The Israelites are trapped between Pharaoh's army and the Red Sea, with no weapons and no way out. And Moses says this over them: "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

But being still doesn't mean doing nothing. One verse later, God tells them to get up and walk. This episode untangles what that means for the woman who can't afford to stop functioning yet is exhausted from feeling as though the outcome rests on her shoulders. Rachel also shares a very recent answered prayer story, one that happened just last week, and one she didn't expect to be telling.

You'll discover:

  • Why "be still" doesn't mean passivity, and what the Hebrew actually carries
  • What Moses was really saying to a crowd of frightened people with no weapons
  • How to pray when you're out of strength and your prayer can only be four words
  • The difference between striving and obeying, and why it matters when you're depleted
  • How God often fights for us through people we can't see yet

Whatever you're up against this week, you're not as alone in it as it feels.

If you feel like prayer is your last resort instead of your first move, or if you're not even sure what you're fighting against, or whether you have the strength to fight at all, then this episode is for you.

This week, Rachel talks about what it actually means to fight back in prayer when you feel defenseless.

Using Ephesians 6, she unpacks something easy to miss: right after Paul describes the armor of God, he moves straight into prayer, with no transition.

The armor protects you and helps you stand. Prayer is what moves you forward. Rachel also shares an unusual answered prayer story that ties directly into last week's conversation with Kristy Graham; it was the night Billy Graham laid his Bible on a tree stump in the woods and prayed his way through the doubt that nearly kept him from preaching at all.

You'll discover:

  • Why the armor of God doesn't do anything until prayer activates it
  • A simple way to stop praying vague prayers and start fighting back with specific ones
  • The story behind the Forest Home "Tree Stump Prayer" that helped launch the ministry Kristy Graham's family carries on today
  • How to bring your doubts and fears to God honestly, without pretending you have it all figured out

If you're in a season where you feel like you're standing there with nothing to fight with, Rachel's new book, Praying through Life's Battles, was written for exactly this. It releases August 25, but preordering now unlocks a digital copy you can start reading right away.

When you've prayed your hardest and the answer is still no, where does joy come from?

This week I sat down with Kristy Graham, host of On the Ground with Samaritan's Purse, for an honest conversation about prayer in the hardest places. Kristy has walked with disaster survivors who lost everything and still praised God, with relief teams who run toward danger when everyone else runs away, and with believers in persecuted countries who pray not for protection but for boldness. Through all of it, she keeps landing on one truth: the joy is in His presence, not in the answer.

We talk about surrender, what it means to pray "not my will but yours" and mean it, and how to keep praying with confidence even when God's answer isn't the one you wanted. I shared a bit of my own story with my daughter Taylor, and Kristy shared hers, and together we landed on the same place so many of us need to be reminded of: God is far more interested in being the answer to our prayers than simply answering them.

You'll discover:

  • Why joy in suffering comes from God's presence rather than changed circumstances
  • How to pray honestly and still surrender the outcome to God
  • What persecuted believers pray for instead of protection, and why it matters
  • The difference between praying for your circumstances to change and letting God change your heart
  • Why serving others in your own pain can lift the weight you're carrying

If you're in a season where your prayers feel unanswered, this conversation is a reminder that you are seen by a loving God who understands your pain and meets you in it.

You're fine all day. Then the light goes off, your head hits the pillow, and the thought you outran since breakfast is standing right there in the room with you, louder than it ever was at noon.

If fear waits until dark to find you, this episode is for you. We're talking about how to pray when anxiety gets loud, and especially how to pray at night, when everything feels worse and morning feels a long way off.

We go to a story you already know, Daniel in the lions' den, but to a person in it most of us read right past. Because there's someone in Daniel 6 who didn't sleep a wink that night, and it wasn't Daniel. It was the king. And his sleepless night might be the most honest picture of two a.m. anxiety in the whole Bible.

You'll discover:

  • Why feeling anxious after you pray is not a sign of weak faith
  • What to actually do in the moment when you can't shut your mind off
  • Why fear gets so much louder at night, and what that's really about
  • What King Darius reveals about holding something you cannot control
  • The reason you can pray more and worry less even at the worst hour of the night

Whatever you're holding in the dark tonight, hear this: God is not waiting for sunrise to go to work for you.

Some seasons leave you so worn out that even prayer feels like one more thing you can't get to. You didn't stop caring. You just got to the end of another full day with nothing left.

This week we sit with the worn-out kind of tired, the everyday depletion of a season with no margin, and the guilt that creeps in when prayer starts to feel like one more thing you can't get to. Anchored in Exodus 33, where Moses, worn down by the weight of all he's carrying, asks God for the one thing he needs most: His presence. And God answers, My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. That rest is personal, and it doesn't wait for a calmer season.

You'll discover:

  • Why your exhaustion doesn't disqualify you from prayer, and what Romans 8:26 says about praying when you have no words
  • How to step out of the guilt loop that drains what little energy you have left
  • The difference between prayer as one more task and prayer as the place you finally get to stop
  • What the singular you in Exodus 33:14 means for the rest God is offering you by name
  • How Corrie ten Boom learned that rest comes from handing the burden over, not carrying it better

If you're worn out today, you don't have to gather yourself up before you come to God. He's already in the season with you.

Have you ever faced something so big you didn't even know how to start praying about it?

In this episode, we sit with a king named Jehoshaphat who caught news of an army he could not beat, and we watch what he did instead of panicking. His prayer in 2 Chronicles 20 hands us a pattern for the battles we never asked for, the ones that show up before we have any idea what to do. The place where we don't know what to do turns out to be the exact place God's answer begins.

You'll discover:

How fear and faith can sit in the same chair, and why that isn't a sign your faith is failing

Why "we do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you" is one of the strongest prayers in Scripture

What it means that the battle is not yours, but God's, and how that changes the way you pray

Why Jehoshaphat's people worshiped before the battle was won, and how George Müller did the same thing in front of a table of empty plates

A simple six-step way to take whatever you're facing and turn it into a prayer this week

Whatever you're walking into, you don't have to know what to do. You just have to know Who to look to.

Have you ever looked around your life and realized that the people who were supposed to be in your corner aren’t there?

Maybe it was the slow ache of carrying something alone and realizing you’re the only one carrying it.

David knew that feeling. He wrote a whole psalm from inside a cave — hunted, betrayed by someone he trusted, with no defender at his right hand. In the cave, he didn’t just cry out to God. He taught us how to pray when we’re cornered.

In this episode, Rachel walks through Psalm 142 and we'll discover what David teaches us about praying inside the cave and not just trying to pray his way out of it.

We close with a recently answered prayer story about a grandmother who was praying for an earlier specialist appointment for her daughter — and watched God answer it through a doorway no one was looking at.

You’ll discover:

  • What David means by "no one at my right hand" and why it matters for your loneliest seasons
  • The Hebrew word at the top of Psalm 142 that changes how we read the whole psalm
  • How to pray when the cave is also a prison — and you can’t see the way out
  • Why God sometimes shows up inside the cornered moment, not after it

If today’s episode put words to a season you’re in, remember this: God is your refuge in the place — not just out of it.

Have you handed your worries over to God, felt lighter for a few days, and then realized you were carrying them all again?

This week, Rachel sits down with longtime friend and Bible study author Mary Boswell to talk about the exhausting cycle so many of us live in: theologically, we know Jesus offers rest, but practically, we keep putting on our "big girl pants" and shouldering everything ourselves.

Mary opens up about the season that broke that pattern for her — caregiving for her mom through pancreatic cancer, parenting through a child's hard season, supporting her husband through a doctoral program, and then COVID. She shares the early morning when Matthew 11:28-30 stopped being a familiar passage and became an actual invitation, and how learning to release her burdens (over and over) has built strength she didn't know she needed.

You'll discover:

  • Why many Christian women believe God offers rest but rarely receive it
  • The quiet way we take our burdens back without realizing it
  • What real rest actually looks like in a season that won't slow down
  • Mary's "something's not right-a-meter" — how to notice when you've picked it back up
  • Why prayer that's honest and ugly is sometimes the prayer that lights the load
  • The muscle that grows every time you hand it over again

If you've ever wondered why surrender feels like a one-time prayer that never quite sticks, this conversation is for you.

Are you living in the gap between the motherhood you pictured and the motherhood you actually have? If Mother's Day stirred up grief you didn't know was still there — or if something has been quietly hardening around the edges of your heart — this episode is for you.

In this post–Mother's Day episode, Rachel sits with the question almost no one says out loud: How do I pray when bitterness keeps creeping into my motherhood? Anchored in the story of Naomi in Ruth chapter 1 — the woman who came home and told her whole town to call her by a different name, Mara, because the Almighty had made her life bitter — this episode gives moms permission to name what they're actually feeling and reminds them that the bitter chapter is not the last chapter.

Rachel shares the season in her own life when bitterness was closer to her than it had ever been: losing her mom at 62 when she was 27, and grieving the grandmother her mom would have been to her kids. She talks about how reading the Psalms — not one specific psalm, just the whole book of them, day after day — became her lifeline through a season she didn't know how to pray through.

You'll discover:

  • The difference between grief and bitterness, and why naming it matters
  • What Naomi's honest "call me Mara" prayer teaches us about coming to God with the actual word for what we're feeling
  • Why the Psalms hold both honesty and faith on the same page, and how that becomes a lifeline
  • How God works in the gap between the motherhood we pictured and the motherhood we have

If you're in a bitter chapter today, this episode is a gentle reminder that God is doing something underneath the surface — even when you can't see it. The bitter chapter is not the last chapter.

Have you ever stopped praying boldly because you've been disappointed by God's answer before?

In this episode, we're sitting with one of the hardest questions a praying woman carries: how do you ask God for another miracle, when last time you asked, the answer wasn't the one you wanted?

Anchoring in Psalm 78, where Asaph reminds Israel that God divided the sea and made the water stand up like a wall, Rachel shares about why disappointment makes us forget who God really is and what it looks like to pray boldly again.

Especially fitting for the week before Mother's Day, when so many of us are carrying motherhood that didn't look the way we expected.

You'll discover:

  • Why disappointment shrinks our prayers without us realizing it
  • What Psalm 78:13 actually teaches us about asking for the impossible
  • The difference between praying in faith and praying in self-protection
  • Why remembering what God has done is a form of spiritual warfare
  • A personal answered prayer story tied to the release of Rachel's new book

This week, may you find the courage to pray boldly again, even from your hardest losses.

Watching your child struggle and not knowing what they need? You're not alone. Whether your kid is two or twenty-two, there are seasons where you can tell something is off but you can't fix it, can't name it, and don't know how to pray about it.

In this episode, Rachel explores how to pray for your kids when you don't know what to ask for, anchored in Psalm 139 and 1 John 5. She shares a personal story about her daughter Tris going through her keep boxes ahead of her fall wedding, and what those old school notes revealed about a slow, faithful answer to years of prayer.

You'll discover:

  • Why not knowing what your child needs doesn't disqualify you from praying for them
  • What Psalm 139:13–16 says about how well God already knows your child
  • The 1 John 5:14–15 prayer you can pray when you have no other words
  • How God answers prayers we didn't even know how to pray correctly
  • Rachel's honest reflection on praying through Tris's seasons and watching God form the answer over twenty-two years

If you're praying for a kid you can't read, a season you can't decode, or a need you can't name, this episode is for you. God hears you. He's already at work on an answer you can't yet see.

f Mother's Day feels heavy this year because your arms ache for a child in heaven, this episode is for you. I'm sitting down with my friend Jennie Lusko, author of The Fight to Flourish and mama to a daughter in heaven, for one of the most honest conversations I've had on this podcast about what prayer really looks like when grief takes your words away.

Jennie shares what she prayed in those first moments of loss, the seasons when God felt silent, why she and I both had to switch Bible translations just to read Scripture again, and the picture of a seed planted in dark soil that changed how she understood the fog of grief. She also shares a word for the mom who's still in it, still surviving, still waiting for the fog to lift.

At the end, Jennie prays specifically for moms walking into Mother's Day with a heavy heart.

Have you ever sat in a prayer circle and thought, her prayers sound so much deeper than mine? Or read somebody's dramatic testimony and wondered if God is even listening to you the same way? Or wished your prayer requests were about the happy problems instead of the hard ones you're actually carrying?

If any of that just landed on you, this episode is for you.

In this episode, Rachel names a kind of comparison almost nobody talks about out loud — the ache of comparing your prayer life to everyone else's. She walks through Jesus' parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke 18, where two men prayed side by side and only one of them went home justified, and then shares a powerful answered prayer story from Corrie ten Boom's time in solitary confinement at Scheveningen prison — a six-word prayer, and the ant God sent in response.

You'll discover:

  • Why comparing your prayer life is the sneakiest kind of comparison — it dresses itself up as humility
  • The moment the Pharisee's prayer stopped being a prayer and started being a performance
  • Why God is not grading your prayers against hers — and what He's actually listening for
  • How Corrie ten Boom's six-word prayer in a Nazi prison cell proves that desperate, honest prayers are the ones God answers
  • A practical way to break the comparison cycle the next time you catch yourself measuring

If you've ever felt small in your prayer closet because you're pretty sure the woman down the street has a deeper one, this episode is going to set you free.

You're lying in bed, and your brain will not stop. The to-do list. The what-ifs. The thing you said yesterday that you keep replaying. You want to pray, but you can't even get a full sentence out before your mind is somewhere else. If that's you, this episode is for you.

In this episode, Rachel unpacks 2 Corinthians 10:5 and what it actually means to take every thought captive. She shares the real story of a racing mind at 4 am and how handing God the parking garage, the weather, and the drive home became the prayer she didn’t know she needed.

You’ll discover:
• Why a racing mind doesn’t mean a disqualified heart
• What Paul meant by “taking thoughts captive” and how to do it at 4 am
• How to turn racing thoughts into actual prayer instead of fighting them
• Why the spin might be a spiritual battle, not a personal flaw

If your brain runs laps every time you try to be still with God, this episode will remind you: He’s not waiting for perfect focus. He’s waiting for you to hand it over.

The angels at the empty tomb asked the women a question that I've been thinking this week: "Why do you look for the living among the dead?"

This Easter, Rachel gets honest about the dead places she's been looking for life — not out in the world, but inside her own heart. The self-talk that tears down instead of builds up. The thoughts that are not true, not honest, not of good report. And what happens when what's living in our hearts starts flowing out of our mouths.

You'll discover:

  • Why the angel's question at the tomb isn't just about Easter morning but about every morning
  • What Matthew 12:34 reveals about the connection between your heart and your words
  • How to tell the difference between the Holy Spirit's conviction and the enemy's condemnation
  • A practical way to replace dead thoughts with living Scripture
  • Why guarding your heart is the most important battle you'll fight this week

If you've been carrying the weight of your own inner critic, this episode will remind you: the tomb is empty, and you don't have to live there anymore.

Sometimes we think God stops working because the battle shifts to unfamiliar ground. He helped us through that one thing, but this? This feels like a different category.

In this Easter episode, Rachel unpacks a surprising story from 1 Kings 20 where Israel's enemies called God a "hill God" — powerful in some places but limited in others. God's response? He won the victory in the exact place they said He couldn't. That's what happened at the cross.

You'll discover:

  • What the Arameans got wrong about God and why we make the same mistake
  • How we accidentally shrink our prayers when the battle moves to new terrain
  • Why the cross as the ultimate valley became the place of the greatest victory
  • How Easter changes everything about the way we approach God in prayer

If you've been holding back in prayer because you're not sure God works in your current valley, this episode will remind you: He is not only a hill God. The resurrection proves it.

Elijah called down fire from heaven. And then one threatening message from Jezebel sent him running face-down under a tree, telling God he might as well be dead.

Fear does that. It doesn't matter what God just did for you. Fear has a way of making you forget all of it.

First Kings 19 is the story of what God did next for Elijah and what He's still doing for us today.

Have you ever felt so broken by grief that even praying felt impossible? Or found yourself angry at God in the middle of your loss and too afraid to admit it?

In this episode, Rachel tackles one of the rawest questions in the prayer life: how do you pray when grief has made you angry at God? She walks through the book of Lamentations and the story of the widow at Zarephath in 1 Kings 17, where a grieving mother's rawest accusation leads to one of the most faith-deepening miracles in Scripture. Rachel also shares personally from the season surrounding her daughter Taylor's death and what prayer actually looked like in those early days of grief.

You'll discover:

  • Why anger at God in grief is not a sign of weak faith and what Scripture actually says about it
  • How Lamentations 3 moves from raw lament all the way to "great is Your faithfulness" without skipping the pain
  • What the widow of Zarephath's accusation teaches us about bringing our honest grief to God
  • Why Elijah prayed three times and what persistent prayer in grief looks like
  • How each miracle God does deepens your faith for the next one

If you're walking through grief right now, whether it's raw and brand new or you've been carrying it for years, this episode is a companion for the hard days.

Have you been waiting on God so long you've stopped counting? Maybe you've even had moments where you thought the answer was finally here — only to find the door was still closed.

In this episode, Rachel opens Psalm 27:14 and unpacks what David really meant when he said "be strong and take heart." Guess what? Waiting on God is not passive. It's one of the most active, courageous things we can do in our faith. Rachel also shares a deeply personal story of a 16-year prayer that was finally answered last week — and what the long wait revealed about God's faithfulness.

You'll discover:

  • Why David repeats "wait for the LORD" twice — and what that tells us about how hard waiting really is
  • The difference between waiting in dread and waiting in expectation
  • Why "be strong" is a command God equips us to obey
  • What those "almost" moments of unanswered prayer are actually doing in us
  • How the waiting room grows something that the answer alone never could

If you're tired of waiting and wondering if God even remembers your prayer, this episode is for you.

In this episode, Rachel dives into the powerful tension between Psalm 34:17 ("The LORD hears") and Psalm 44:23 ("Awake, Lord! Why do you sleep?") and what it means when both feel true at the same time. What do you do when everyone around you is posting grateful hearts and counting blessings, but you're just trying to get through the day?

This Thanksgiving week, if your heart feels heavy instead of thankful, this episode is for you. You're not failing spiritually, and you're not alone.

Do you ever feel like you're making decisions in the dark, just hoping you're on the right path? Maybe you prayed about a big choice, but now you're navigating hundreds of smaller moments wondering if you're still headed in the right direction.

Most of us treat prayer like a GPS we consult at major intersections. But Proverbs 3:6 says to acknowledge Him "in ALL your ways"—not just the big ones. What if the key to clear guidance isn't praying more about the big decisions, but bringing God into every ordinary moment throughout your day?

In this episode, you'll discover:

  • Why we struggle with uncertainty even after praying about major decisions
  • What Nehemiah's "arrow prayers" teach us about acknowledging God in real-time
  • The WAYS acronym: a simple framework to help you practice God's presence all day long
  • Three practical steps to create "prayer triggers" in your daily routine
  • How acknowledging God in mundane moments prepares your heart for what really matters

Rachel also shares a personal answered prayer story about how praying in the margins of an ordinary day led to an extraordinary moment of God's faithfulness. You'll hear how acknowledging God during the "behind-the-scenes" work of ministry resulted in the perfect words of affirmation being spoken at exactly the right time.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV): "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Have you ever felt like you're drowning in your circumstances, wondering if God's promises are just beautiful words that don't apply to your situation?

In this episode, Rachel shares how a recent memorial service reminded her of the profound truth found in Isaiah 43:2—that when we pass through deep waters, God promises we will pass through, not get swept away.

  • How to hold onto God's promises when you feel like you're drowning emotionally
  • Why writing out Scripture in prayer slows you down to really hear God's heart
  • The difference between praying toward God's promises versus praying from them

Whether you're facing health challenges, financial struggles, relationship difficulties, or any season that feels overwhelming, this episode will anchor your soul in the truth that deep waters don't last forever—and you're not walking through them alone.

Have you ever been in a season where you knew God's promises in your head, but your heart felt completely numb to them?

Maybe you've read "I will never leave you nor forsake you" but felt utterly alone. Or someone reminded you that "God works all things together for good" and you wanted to scream because nothing felt good at all.

When you can't feel God's promises and your faith feels too weak to carry you, it's easy to wonder if you're failing spiritually. If you've ever struggled to believe what you know is true, this episode will show you how borrowed faith can carry you through seasons when your own faith feels depleted.

Rachel explores how trust is a choice, not a feeling, and reveals how God designed us to lean on others when our own faith feels weak.

In this episode, you'll discover:

  • Why it's okay to lean on someone else's faith when yours feels weak
  • How the Israelites in Babylon needed Jeremiah to speak God's promises over them
  • Three practical ways to stand on God's promises when you can't feel them

A heart-to-heart conversation about motherly loss, faith renewal, and finding God in grief's darkest moments

In this soul-stirring episode of the Untangling Prayer podcast, Rachel Wojo welcomes Chelsea Alma Miller for an intimate conversation that feels less like an interview and more like eavesdropping on two friends sharing their deepest griefs and greatest hopes.

Chelsea, author of "Now That She's Gone," opens her heart about losing her mother—"the most faithful person" she knew—and the spiritual wilderness she wandered through afterward. "The saddest part," she confesses, "is that I felt like in losing her, I lost my faith too." Yet seven years later, her prayer life has become "more profound and prolific" than before—a testament to faith reborn through fire.

Rachel shares her own staggering losses—her mother at just 27, her daughter after a 22-year battle with terminal illness, and both her father and father-in-law within months of each other. Through these valleys, both women discovered a raw, honest way of praying that doesn't polish pain before presenting it to God.

Their conversation invites you to:

  • Release the shame of questioning God in grief
  • Embrace grief as companion rather than enemy—"It's like a shadow that follows you... built from incredible love"
  • Find meaningful support by simply showing up consistently for grieving friends
  • Pray through fear instead of allowing it to dictate your future

If you've ever stood at a graveside wondering where God went, this episode whispers: "You are not alone. Your broken prayers still reach heaven."

The conversation closes with Chelsea's tender prayer for "grieving hearts wherever they are," a benediction that feels like a gentle hand holding yours in the darkness.
