Everything in life right now is going great. I have a girl that loves me. I'm gonna be a father and a husband. So I have all the reasons in the world to be happy. Yet, I can't help but think of all the bullshit that's gonna come our way in raising a mixed child. Sure everyone is happy for us and are wishing us well. Reality is, the same people that are wishing us well, are talking hella shit behind our backs and will be soon brave enough to say it to our faces. Racism will rear it's ugly head. I wonder if my girl will be ready for all of that?

Aight folks, it's time to gain some sensibility. I know we've all heard about the Liam Neeson interview by now, where he talks to the interviewer about an incident he went through back in the day. He was candid, he was truthful, and most importantly, he realized he was wrong and grew from it. Now, because we live in a world where people become "outraged" and want you to lose your job, the internet did what the internet does and took things to a whole new level of being stupid. Now people are calling this man a racist and want him fired. Is that the right way to combat racism? Let's hash this all out in today's episode.

We've heard the old adage, "love conquers all", "all you need is a little love", "love will find a way", and my personal favorite, "love is unconditional". But is it really? I mean, yes we do have love for people, family, friends, significant other. But is our love truly unconditional or do we place specific conditions on love and how we love? In today's episode, I wanna explore this idea if love really is unconditional. Saturday night, my girlfriend and I had a heart to heart conversation. Mostly, it was me venting some frustrations about life and her listening and chiming in when she could. Then she dropped a bomb-shell on me that really made me think. She said that I quit things when they get too difficult. Upon hearing this, I didn't know whether to get offended, get angry, or clap back with some witty remark. I chose to do neither of those. Instead, I pondered what she said and eventaully agreed with her. I do quit things when they get too difficult. Football, med school, relationships, and various other things. Then I thought, if I do this, what about others? Do other people quit difficult things as well? The answer is, probably. So, let's have a discusssion shall we? Let's see where we can go with this.

With the high rates of single mothers and a lot of dad bashing articles out there (surprisingly), I wanted to take some time in today's episode to discuss the importance of having a father in a kids life. Growing up, I've dabbled in many religions and had an up and down experience with the whole thing. Now I don't want to say that religion is bad as a whole, because I can understand why it's important to most. As for my experience, i don't think religion is that important.A lot of religion relies on basic philosophies of the human experience. Regardless,religion can illicit some really strong emotional responses when it's the subject of focus. in today's episode, I try to explore the concept of religion a little bit. I know that I've been on this podcast before talking about enjoy life and pursue your passions. But every now and again, I too fall victim to the wishes and desires of life. Accroding to some studies, religioin seems to be on the decline. In a poll that was taken back in 2014, survey has shown that approx. 78% of adults say they are religiously affliated, which is an approx. 7% decline from that same survey taken back in 2007, which had approx. 83% of adults claiming to be religiously affliated. So why the decline? What has people turning their backs on religion? Andy and I will try and discuss some possible reasons as to why people are leaving the church or abandoning religion all togehter.

Lately, I've been watching "Naked and Afraid", "Alone", "Big Brother", and some other pretty interesting shows with my grilfriend. One thing that I've noticed and has stuck out to me, is that, we as human beings are extremely comfortable in our current environment. Let's be honest with ourselves for a minute. Can you honestly look at yourself in the mirror and say that you can understand someone else's pain? If you can, great! You have this thing called empathy for another human, Most likely and truthfully speaking, you do not. I'm basing all of this on a simple observation. Listening to people talk badly about the President, professional athletes gripes, Black Lives Matter, Libertarians vs. Conservatives, etc. It's all getting out of hand really. Aight so a lot has been happenning in the news; The Madden 19 tournament shooting, Senator John McCain's death, the ugly debate on whether or not President Trump should lower the white house flag to half mast, Odell Beckem getting his money, the start of football season both college and professional, to the same ole tiring debate of conservaties vs. liberals. There has been a lot happening! But I've noticed that there is a common motif amongst all of the debates going on... no one is actually listening. You know, in the past, I've had some reservations about being in a relationship. I'm not gonna lie, there was a point where I was on my he-man-woman-hater shit. I thought the best way to deal with this idea was to treat women like shit and just use them as objects. Then something happened and my perception changed a bit. What happened you might ask? Well, I got into a relationship and realized that I may have been wrong about my thought process. Personally, I can admit and accept when I have been wrong and I have. I've always wondered if being in a relationhip was difficult. Then I got into one and realized and realized, that it really isn't. What makes being a relationship difficult is that one or the other partner isn't 100% fully committed. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily. But we view it as a bad thing. Honestly, I look at it as a necessary evil. Because once you've decided to be fully committed, a relationship is very simple to be in. It gets tricky when one partner doesn't want to be committed. Then the problems of infidelity, playing games, baby momma/daddy drama, etc happens. It took me awhile to learn this, but once I learned and let go of the bullshit, my relationship blossomed. So, let's talk about relationships.

I've never understood the complexities of life. Some days are extremely good and you're on top of the world. Then there are weeks where things seem to always go wrong and you can't catch a break. Maan, the amount of vitriol and hate that was spread along my cousin's Facebook status was astounding! My man posted a simple question and everyone (mostly women) went apeshit about the credibility of the article, the credibility of the research done, shared their personal experiences, etc. It was bad! Ok, so this past weekend, my girlfriend and I stumbled across this show titled, 'Explained". The show only has four episodes, with each episode running at about twenty minutes a piece, but does a great job of summarizing some polarizing topics of today. The four episodes discussed ont he show were, "The Racial Wealth Gap", "Designer DNA", "Monogamy", and lastly, "K-Pop". All of the episodes are worth your time and come highly recommended, but for today's episode, we are going to explore the idea of monogamy a bit. The show raised some interesting points and I would like to discuss and unpack some of these ideas with you guys, while raising and answering some new questions as we talk. Things go wrong in our lives constantly. Whether it be poor choices, things that happen outside of our control, whatever the case may be, we have to remember that we are responsible for our own shit. Regardless of what happens in life, we have to take personal responsibility. It may not be pretty, but in the long run, it is the sure fire way that we can control our lives.
