Welcome to KAM Corner, a podcast powered by KAM Industries. Tune in as we uncover everyday people doing extraordinary things, and small town kids with big city dreams. Within each episode we aim to educate, entertain and inspire our guests through subjects of leisure, sport and business. In line with KAM Industries mission, it is also important that we explore clothing to start a conversation and projects to promote change. Thank you for joining us on our journey! Your hosts, Kurt & Bailey McDonald.
Following an overwhelming response to the recent news that Ellie would be recieving no further WTCS starts for 2024, we decided to record an episode, and answer all of your questions! Ellie talks us through the justification for such a decision, how this heavily impacts her career, and what the future holds. She also reflects on her Olympic reserve selection, and experience in Paris.

I make my way home to Australia, and it honestly feels strange! Time certainly flies, and in a way, it feels like I never left. After being home for exactly one week, I am now off to the Whitsundays to race the Airlie Beach Triathlon, an event I won last year.

Ellie shares her recent trip to France, where she was hit with food poisoning the night before her race. I hold down the forte in Vitoria and prepare for my next race at Challenge Gdansk. I also submitted my last ever university assignments, while Ellie sat three exams under supervision here in Spain.

I take you through the moments that led to the viral sprint finish at Challenge Salou. A super long swim, a solo bike, and a well paced run totalled over 3:40 of racing, but it still came down to a matter of inches... Although initially bittersweet, the one now feels pretty good!

We go on a journey from Vitoria-Gasteiz to Salou. Although it is only a 5hr drive, it was one big adventure! We explored the streets of Salou, before crossing the border to Andorra where we visited Bailey and his teammmates. Andorra certainly looks like a place that could become 'home' in the future...

SPECIAL EDITION EPISODE
KAM Industries raises $4320 for the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. The money specifically donated to a campaign to ‘Cure Brain Cancer for Stevo’.
In the words of the fundraiser:
"Lachie Stephenson lost his battle with a Diffuse Midline Glioma on Saturday 1st January 2022. His battle only lasted 7 months. He fought hard but it was just too big to win. He endured surgery, radiation and a clinical trial.
This was the same treatment used for this type of tumour in the 1960's; there have been no medical advances in more than 60 years.
Lach was a perfectly healthy and fit 20yo who was playing footy and basketball one week and debilitated the next. It took Lach's balance, coordination, vision, speech, the ability to swallow and then breathe. We need to raise funds and awareness.
If this can happen to Lach, no one is safe!
Please help so that parents in the future do not have to endure our unimaginable pain."
