As I listen to another story from a loving Dad sharing his story of the loss of his daughter in the Parkland Shooting it brings you right back to how important this message is. Each life lost matters. We cannot let the lives of these children be in vein and we must look to do better for the rest of our children.
Within the last week there have been a shooting everyday and mass casualties.
The goal is prevention 💯
As the world debates the right moves to stop the loss of countless lives we cannot wait to help save lives.
Lance & I wanted to bring back a recording of one of our biggest passion projects.
It is called CERA. Critical Emergency Response App.
Why this is important is because every second wasted in proper response to an event, every second wasted in identifying and finding the suspect, every second wasted in critical care response means the higher loss of lives.
Eddie has experienced the gaps in the system first hand.
His mission started after that fateful day at the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland was to better equip and respond to these horrible tragedies.
In the last quarter of the year there was an enormous jump in to 24 school shootings. The number just continues to increase each year.
This system is saving lives by being able to target the shooter drastically faster than the system in place today.
It allows quicker health response to victims. In these situations EVERY SECOND COUNTS.

We are bringing you another SMC Inspirational Messages with Tanaine Jenkins is Recidivism Strategist, a Motivational Re-Entry Speaker and a published author.
We are bringing back Tanaine’s Message on Sat. 12/31/2022 at 10am EST.
In 2010 Tanaine was arrested for defrauding a financial institution. She was sentenced to two years prison and five years of probation. While incarcerated, Tanaine started a poetry ministry, a choir and was the GED teacher and helped dozens of women obtain their GED.
After release, Tanaine worked in the logistics and tax industries but believe that she was called for something so much greater. In 2020 and in her darkest hour, she vowed never to allow a returning citizen to feel like they were not enough. She started Everything I Am LLC which is an organization that teaches returning citizens to FEEL.

Look beyond their circumstances.
Her mission is to help returning citizens, “Find success in their second chance by embracing their past, telling their stories so that they can become everything they are flaws and all.”

She is a mom on a mission & suicide prevention advocate.
She has shared her story to families in need and presented to groups of thousands, including 4,400 soldiers at Fort Bliss military base in El Paso, Texas. She was featured on TED Talks in March 2022.
She will be airing on Saturday Dec. 17th at 10am EST with us at Saturday Morning Coffee with Lance and Tiffany.
Leslie takes time with us to share the heart-wrenching story about a loving mother and family that lost their son to suicide Sept. 10th, 2016.
We will hear the story of Leslie's son, Austin, who was by world's standards, an overachiever. He did well in school, played in sports, had friends and his family.
The day he took his life no one had expected it.
Please tune in to hear what happened on that day and how Leslie has taken it on as her mission to help educate others.
She shares tips that will be helpful for anyone to prevent suicide.

Most recently, Bradley has signed with the Rochester Knighthawks.
Voigt, 26, appeared in two games with the Georgia Swarm this season, scoring one goal which came against Rochester back on Feb. 21. He also played for Team Choas, and Ratlers.
Thanks to many of his mentors he started early on a path to success in Lacrosse in Penn Yan with the help of the Queeners, Hobart, Mike Manley and many more alongside of him to learn the ropes.
His true connection to this game is what makes him so special.
He continues to give back to youth year after year in New York so they can achieve their dreams in HEAT Lacrosse Camp. He has grown HEAT Lacrosse from 1 camp last year to 5 camps this year in multiple locations.

Uvalde, TX could have ended differently. It should have ended differently. If you are following the news you see how critical minutes, even seconds can be to save lives.
Now across the country our hearts are broken.
Important Note: There hasn't been a mass casualty fire in a US school since 1958. Why?
Because we collectively decided to solve the problem. New laws, new building codes, fire drills. Problem solved.
We cannot stop at prayers, thoughts and love anymore. The time to act is NOW. There is a way to save more lives with better response to Active Shooters and Implementing Critical Emergency care. As the world debates the next steps to take after the recent shootings in Uvalde, Buffalo and many others there is a immediate way we can implement better security and response for our county. It is known as CERAapp.
Developed by a First Responder Eddie McGovern who was one of the 1st on the scene during the Parkland, FL school shooting that killed 17 and injured 17 others. He has since been on a mission for change because he knows we can do better.

In 2010 Tanaine was arrested for defrauding a financial institution. She was sentenced to two years prison and five years of probation. While incarcerated, Tanaine started a poetry ministry, a choir and was the GED teacher and helped dozens of women obtain their GED.
After release, Tanaine worked in the logistics and tax industries but believe that she was called for something so much greater. In 2020 and in her darkest hour, she vowed never to allow a returning citizen to feel like they were not enough. She started Everything I Am LLC which is an organization that teaches returning citizens to FEEL.

This system is saving lives by being able to target the shooter drastically faster than the system in place today.

She has shared her story to families in need and presented to groups of thousands, including 4,400 soldiers at Fort Bliss military base in El Paso, Texas. She will also be featured on TED Talks in March 2022.

Leslie takes time with us to share the heart-wrenching story about a loving mother and family that lost their son to suicide Sept. 10th, 2016.
We will hear the story of Leslie's son, Austin, who was by world's standards, an overachiever. He did well in school, played in sports, had friends and his family.
The day he took his life no one had expected it.
Please tune in to hear what happened on that day and how Leslie has taken it on as her mission to help educate others.
She shares tips that will be helpful for anyone to prevent suicide.

A community leader and currently employed PA state Law Enforcement officer; Ty is heavily involved in numerous non profits and community programs tasked with youth development and youth crime prevention. Founder of ACTIVE8 Youth Development Project and Ground Zero Athletics. A graduate of Bishop McDevitt high school where he competed as member of the nationally ranked football team who would win two back to back MiddPenn titles. As a member of the schools track and field team he would go on to be apart of the schools first track and field State Championship. Currently 2nd all time in the schools history for the 300m Hurdles.
Received a scholarship to play College football at Lock Haven University. Ty finished a spectacular career as a 4 year starter at the university. He would go on to pursue a child hood dream to play in the NFL. He would be featured on NFL Undrafted where he showcased his ability in front of NFL and CFL scouts. Ty would be invited to prestigious Senior Bowl games such as The College Grid Iron showcase, NATIONAL BOWL and Tropic Bowl with some of the country’s top athletes.
He began is plight into Law Enforcement early after Graduating college. It was there he discovered his passion to help others. He is committed to servicing his community as a law enforcement professional. His aim is to bridge the important gap between Law Enforcement and the community. He understands the importance of representation and how it can be used to build fostering relationships with those around him. Overcoming obstacles and being a real world problem solver are important to him.

You may recall back in Season 1 we had Chef join us talking about his new culinary ventures and support and volunteering he does to help our youth.
This week we wanted to bring him back to discuss such an important topic and Difficult Conversation that impacts across the culinary field regarding resources and training for black youth coming into the field.'
Chef Malcom has written “A Letter to my Fellow Black Chefs” which was inspired by an essay written by his great-uncle James Baldwin to his father- “A Letter to My Nephew” back in 1962.
It is key that we allow for diversity and representation of our fellow black chefs to let them shine for their true skills.
We must not pre-label with a notion that they can only provide a certain skillset.
Helping our fellow black chefs to have representation, a seat at the table of the boardrooms, being decision makers and even CEOs.
The ultimate goal is to bring our brothers and sisters together no matter what race or walk of life to better our culinary sectors and the rest of our world.

Over a year ago we lost this beautiful soul, Melissa Otto from Ottomated Success. She had graced us with such love, warmth, strength and zest for life before her last days on this earth.
Those gifts helped inspire where we are today with Saturday Morning Coffee and we will never forget nor take that for granted.
Her mission was Restoring Pride- Process, People, Profits with her clients. Through this she would share wonderful stories of success through her podcast videos.

Our Very Special SMC Guest- Carrie Ahearn served 7 years in the Air Force as an Aircraft Structural Maintaince Journeyman- Rosie Riveter & Paint Slinger. She has now dedicated her life to so many things to continue to give to our country and our Vets!

Born and raised in Penn Yan NY. Served 7 years in the Air Force as a Aircraft Structural Maintenance Journeyman - Rosie Riveter and paint slinger. After training in Texas and Illinois, I was stationed at Osan S Korea, Seymour Johnson AFB NC, after a rotation to Saudi Arabia, I moved to McGuire AFB adjacent to Fort Dix in NJ. Returned home to raise my kids.
After service I did customer service and clerical jobs. When I remarried I thought I would go to school and seek a degree to become a pharmacist. During pre-requisite courses at the community college, my husband asked to take a look at the local diner. We bought it - no website, online presence, and closed for the season. Two years in we experienced a flood. After 11 days we had it reopened with a limited menu and a few weeks later we were back in business. In March 2017 we were nominated by our customers for Best of NY Upstate diner. We were selected as judges choice best diner.
In December of 2017 I was hired as the Veteran Service Officer of Yates County.
