In this episode, The Master Nodes discuss some key news on what's happened between February 27th, 2023 and March 6th, 2023 in the crypto space. The Master Nodes goes over the latest buzz involving the SEC and Binance, also crypto donations and DAO's. - - A staff agent that works for the SEC recently came out and claimed they are looking into Binance.US because they may be operating an unregistered securities exchange in the U.S. The also believe the sale of a token called VGX by Voyager Digital violated federal securities laws. The official noted that SEC staff's views don't necessarily reflect the views of the five commissioners at the head of the agency. He did not say whether the SEC had any enforcement actions in the works tied to his declaration. "The commission has not made any determinations on either of these issues," he said. "The staff beliefs do not represent the [view] of the commission." - - Cryptocurrency has many pro’s like decentralization, transparency, ease of use, speed, it is unstoppable and it can be used globally. All these perks really pair well with donating and charities. Imagine being able to instantly and securely donate to any organization in the world, without having to make an account, exchange currency, have minimum donations all from your phone. You would be able to actually see some of the transactions that occur afterward as well due to blockchain technology. When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, the crypto community mobilized to donate funds to Ukraine. In this episode, The Master Nodes discuss some key news on what's happened between February 4th, 2023 and February 11th, 2023 in the crypto space. The Master Nodes goes over the latest buzz involving the super bowls ban of crypto ad's and why the SEC recently fined Kraken. - - For about the past year now we have seen Reddit giveaway NFT’s via Polygon to users in its community. However, what we find interesting is the latest Reddit NFT ad is the collaboration with the NFL for Super Bowl 57 NFT’s. The Super Bowl NFT’s were offered for free to all Reddit users and were minted on Polygon. What is weird is that a Fox representative came out and stated the NFL/super bowl banned any and all cryptocurrency related ads to not air during the super bowl. With there strong stance against the crypto community I was actually shocked to hear about this collaboration. Last year we saw the super bowl dubbed the “crypto bowl” due top the large amount of cryptocurrency company ads that were previewed. Every year roughly 100 million people watch the super bowl, leading to a HUGE price tag for AD spots as much as 7 million dollars simply for a 30 second ad. Crypto companies combined paid $54 million dollars to run super bowl ads. - - The SEC announced that crypto exchange Kraken agreed to pay a $30 million fine for not registering the offering and sale of its crypto asset staking-as-a-service program. The SEC had a problem with how kraken was dealing with rewards. Kraken would set the percentage amount customers would receive rather than rewards being variable like they are normally. Their are a couple of alternatives to centralized staking like liquid staking, from lido and rocket pool and staking as a service entities that are non custodial. Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao sure does! In a recent interview, the Binance CEO states he "believes that crypto needs to have seat at the table when it comes to free speech". Zhao also hints at other potential integrations of crypto and the app, this could be like subscriptions, buying/selling products, ordering food and so much more. What are your thoughts on this $500 million dollar interest? - - China has banned crypto so many times in their country it's insane, however what's even crazier is how a city within its boarders is able to disregard their rules and allow it in their city. Although Hong Kong is a part of China- which banking system is controlled the People's Bank of China (PBOC)- they are able to make laws separate from the country. Now Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission is set to conduct a public consultation on how to give retail investors access to digital assets. In addition, Hong Kong’s regulator said it is open to future reviews on property rights for tokenized assets, the legality of smart contracts, NFT ownership, and ETFs. This in turn will actually open up the floor to more crypto investors. The Master Nodes goes over what is currently going on with Robinhood and what happened with Solana this past week. - - ROBINHOOD IS LAYING OFF ITS STAFF! The company said the economic climate had reduced trading activity, which had boomed at the height of the pandemic. The move comes after the firm reported quarterly revenues of $318m, 44% down on $565m a year earlier. Robinhood went public a year ago at $35 a share and is now trading at $10 losing roughly 70% in value. Its monthly active users also appeared to fall by roughly a third, at 14 million for June 2022 compared with 21.3 million in the second quarter of 2021, Reuters reported. - - SOLANA WAS HACKED! Solana was hacked on Tuesday August 2nd and around 8,000 wallets were compromised. These wallets were drained of their SOL, USDC, and other Solana Tokens. The attack took around 4.5 million dollars from users, however the devs at Solana claim that it does not appear to be a bug with Solana core code,” they added, “but in software used by several software wallets popular among users of the network.” Some of the affected wallets are Slope and Phantom. The Solana network is still up and running, but has had some network outages due to some users attempting to slow down the hackers by overwhelming the servers similar to a DDOSS. AMC has also utilized their partners at WAX cloud wallet to provide their investors with ONE YEAR of fees being paid by AMC to purchase any additional NFT’s. You can still also join AMC investor connect by the end of September. So if you own AMC stock CASH IN! - - With the markets crashing we also see crypto companies like Celsius being affected as well. Celsius paid down its $223 million loan it owes to the blockchain protocol Maker to free up $450 million in collateral. Now they also might be trying a similar strategy with two other big decentralized-finance (DeFi) platforms – Aave and Compound. Blockchain data tracer Etherscan shows Celsius transferred $16 million in Maker’s DAI stablecoin and a transaction of $3 million in Circle’s USDC stablecoin to Aave in the early hours of Friday.This would help free up liquidity and hopefully get them to start withdraws again. In this episode, The Master Nodes discuss some key news on what's happened between June 12th, 2022 and June 19th, 2022 in the crypto space. The Master Nodes goes over why the crypto market is going down and how the fall of crypto is affecting popular crypto companies like Celsius. - - When it comes to crypto we have to look at the micro impacts on our economy to really see why not just crypto but all markets are crashing. First we have the FED officially announcing that they would be adding a .75% hike to interest rates. The largest jump we have seen in 28 years. This in turn leads to a domino effect because with banks being charged higher interest, trickle down economics kicks in, and we see the consumer/customer at the end getting their once almost interest free debt piled up on them and they just can't keep up. So to offset their losses and pay off their debt they are selling "riskier" investments like crypto. Another factor that can be contributing to the fall of the market is the fall of BTC. As we all know BTC is the forerunner of the market, and depending how its doing reflects on the market over all. What many people don't realize is that after every bull run we see BTC have an average drawdown of 85%. 85%. In the current market this draw down number is around thee $10,300 range. Taking that into account these are just some of the factors that are affecting the market. - - With the markets crashing we also see crypto companies like Celsius being affected as well. This past week we saw celsius pause withdraws from its app due to liquidation issues. Soon after we find Celsius hiring a restructuring attorney. What is financial restructuring? Restructuring is when a company decides they need to make drastic changes to the way it chooses to operate. This typically happens when the company is under financial stress. Basically, due to market volatility, we've seen celsius’ whole infrastructure put in danger. Celsius’ main goal is to let people use crypto-backed loans that charge low interest. The market is dropping at a crazy rate and people who have used Celsius to get loans have been liquidated which further drives the price down. This is causing a negative feedback loop for celsius and the market. This is one of the reasons Celsius has chosen to halt withdrawals and crypto swaps. Gavin Newsom signing new crypto executive order and how “smart money” wallets are unloading APE and loading up on aSTETH - - A blockchain analytic firm called Nansen has been monitoring the activity of “smart wallets” that have purchased APE and unloaded it for aSTETH. In their discovery, they found $1.3 Million dollars has flowed out for APE holders wallets. aSTETH is Aave’s yield bearing token stETH or staked ETH. Aave is a defi platform that allows users to borrow or lend crypto. Essentially what aSTETH is is a coin that allows you to earn the liquidity of staked ETH without actually having to stake it. - - Governor Newsom wants to get ahead of the curve because he sees how crypto is being utilized throughout the world. He does intend to put an emphasis on consumer safety and potential environmental impacts that may be caused due to mining and maintaining crypto infrastructure. With everything going on in Russian, many banks and corporations are pulling out of their country because they do not agree with their choices to attack Ukraine. Cryptocurrency exchanges are also being pressured to blacklist certain Russian accounts. The Biden administration is readying an executive order directive for release as early as next month that will outline a comprehensive government strategy on cryptocurrencies and ask federal agencies to determine their risks and opportunities. We shall see the stance the administration has on cryptocurrency in the near future.

These past 5 weeks have been pretty bloody, but let’s hope the $14 million pump from new investors lifts the markets up a bit. Investors, at current price levels, are seeing the market dip as a buying opportunity. Although Bitcoin's (BTC) price tumbled 16% in the seven days through Sunday (worst weekly performance since May 2021) let us hope that investors start to pump their bags and the market back up. Time will tell where the market goes, but we will do our best to keep y’all updated. Let us know what you think on our take of both topics in the comments section.
