Just a white girl trying to get by in life. Trying my very best to make the best of what I have... trying to cope with traffic and striking taxi’s and numerous asshole drivers, and trying very hard to do so without becoming an alcoholic... or day-drinking. I absolutely adore animals, cats dogs and anything four legged. I also adore my son (should probably have put that before animals). I also love wine.
I have had this idea in my head for a while now... Every time I pass by a person experiencing homelessness, I can't help but wonder about them. Their life story. Where do they come from, how did they end up here?
I am nearly 100% convinced that majority of these lost souls are where they are because of mental health issues, and they simply have nowhere to go. This is not an indigenous problem to South Africa, if the stories we watch and listen to from the US is anything to go by.
They need help, they need support.
Walk this journey with me to hear their stories. To learn where it started going wrong and hopefully the right people can be reached and some form of assistance can be generated for those we no longer see, or acknowledge anymore.
