I was raised in a little town just north and east of the infamous “Rosewood.” Like Rosewood, I was born in a time of chaos, lies and calamity. The Civil Rights Movement was as epic and as timeless as slavery. It has never left the forefront of society’s injustices. Attention thwarted upon a people that no one race should ever have to endure relentlessly. And yet 400 years later, here we are.
I feel as though I am caught up in the movie Caddy Shack and Ground Hog Day all at once. Unfortunately, I am living out the; “poor squirrel…,” scene of Django. Struggling to hang on to sanity like Dan Ackroyd in Loose Cannons. The world is stuck on rewind, replay, repeat or scratched. At this point who really knows the difference.
