Let’s talk about what it means to be a Christian yogi! This is an honest discussion of that duality. Yoga is a powerful practice that has brought so much joy and healing into my life. My faith has always been an anchoring pillar to who I am. After becoming a yoga teacher in 2021, I have come to understand how beautifully they pair together and how they can absolutely enhance and inform each other. I am here to share my experience, share some education, and debunk the stigma that Christians can’t practice yoga. So get yourself a journal and maybe a buddy, and be ready to explore your journey!
Yes yes, we all know. Consistency is key when it comes to making changes, large or small, in our lives. This is no different when it comes to yoga! Your daily practice, or sadhana, plays a huge part in your healing, growth, and, you guessed it, your creativity. Cause guess what? More time practicing yoga means more time in communication with God. When we're talking to God, we're learning a ton about our true selves, why we're here, and how to align our lives. Plus, we love that daily kick of inspiration, flexing those creative muscles and cultivating our creativity.
Need some support in developing your sadhana? I have some free journal prompts that you can download here! Plus, I'm always happy to chat! You can catch me on Instagram @wilddaughteryoga, or send me an email.
Daughters, be well.
Creativity. You could say it's a buzz word. But what it really is, is simply the ability to create, to make something when there was nothing there before. It is an innate part of our humanity and guess what! We all have it. Some of us may feel like our creative gene was lost somewhere along the way. Well, I'm here to tell you that it is indeed still there and yoga is a great tool to help you access it! In this episode we get into a little bit of the yogic philosophy for why that is.

Welcome back to the Wild Daughter Podcast! Things are looking a bit different around here these days. In Season 2, I will be focusing more on how yoga can bring healing, fulfillment, and peace to your life, regardless of your faith system or walk of life. Through yoga, we discover our true, God-given creative nature, which reveals our purpose. And then we can make decisions to pursue that purpose, bringing us peace and fulfillment. I am so excited to walk with you in your yoga journey. Let's get back to it!
Ok ok, maybe “ruin” is a little extreme. But I’m here to talk about this today because I do feel so strongly that physical fitness is only a byproduct of yoga. There is so much more to our overall wellness and the practice of yoga supports every aspect of it. The truth is, a yoga practice is challenging in more ways than one. But it is rewarding and healing in just as many, if not more, ways.
I’m back! It has been a little while since I published, and I wanted to take some time in this episode to be real and talk about why! Now, I am back and feeling really clear and ready to serve you all and help you to find healing so that you can live bigger, fuller lives being close to God and knowing your truest self.
Blocks, straps, and mats, oh my! In this episode, I cover my thoughts and knowledge about the different props and equipment that are available to help you in your yoga practice. Having equipment that gets you excited for your practice definitely helps you achieve consistency as you begin something new! Want more of the good stuff? Head to wilddaughteryoga.com/blog for the show notes and check out some links to do some shopping for yourself!
Feeling a bit intimidated about taking a yoga class? Not sure what to expect? In this episode, I walk through some of the typical pieces parts of a studio vinyasa class, breaking down some common segments, even leading you through a couple of Sun Salutations! After this episode, you’ll know a bunch more about what you may find in a yoga class, why we move through the sections of class the way we do, and hopefully feel more comfortable going to the studio. So grab a friend, have a listen, and then go sign up for yoga!
Do you feel stuck in your life? Like your baggage is holding you back? Like you were made for more but are feeling so heavy that you just can’t get there? If you even felt the inkling of yes to any of these questions, then this episode is for you. Today, I’m talking about the biggest reason that I am here: healing. Yoga, combined with faith and prayer, can be a powerful tool to help you move past hardships in your life, and find profound healing, which ultimately leads you to being the truest version of yourself and being able to use your unique gifts to serve others.
Have you ever sat down and thought about your core values, what they are and how you can live into them more? This mini episode is all about aligning your life with the things that are most important to you, to help you to live your most meaningful and fulfilling life. I share an exercise to help you nail down your personal core values, and then start the process towards living in alignment with them!
Ashtanga yoga. Know anything about it? No matter what your answer is, this episode is definitely for you! Ashley Jade is a yoga teacher, Ashtanga yogi and all around passionate person. I have the joy of being her student and colleague and she joins me today to chat all about Ashtanga yoga, how discipline plays a part in her life and practice, and how it has helped to shape her into the teacher and person she is today.
What do you think of when you think of a community? I definitely think of a group of people where I truly belong, you know, those people who support me, want to see my succeed, and that I love to support as well! Community is integral to our yoga practices, as well as our faith. Haven’t quite found your community yet? Maybe it’s right here :)
In this Mini Episode (first of many), I am offering you some encouragement. Today’s topic: Surrender. We often hear about surrendering our pain and suffering to God as Christians, but did you know it’s also a part of the yoga tradition? Surrendering not only helps us to let go of harmful things, but also gives us space to receive the words and guidance of God.
Gratitude. We hear that word all the time, but how do we be grateful when it feels like everything is crumbling down around us? In this episode, I talk about why gratitude is integral to our yoga journeys, our faith, and the fight for justice in our world. Plus, I give you a simple exercise to help you shift your perspective and center gratitude in your day. Plus, I have a freebie for you! Head to wilddaughteryoga.com/shop to download a free post-meditation writing prompts to help you as you begin or deepen your meditation and gratitude practice.
I love the outdoors. I often joke that I’m solar-powered, and I’m basically a plant. Because I love being outside so much, I wanted to talk about why practicing yoga outside can be such a beautiful thing to add to your practice. Now don’t get me wrong, you can absolutely still have your studio practice, but know that allocating some time spent in nature can enhance your practice in so many ways! Plus, I always find it really special to spend some time in God’s creation, showing respect for the earth while we honor our bodies.
Meditation is arguably the most important part of a yoga practice. Wondering why? How? What even is meditation? I’m covering all of that in today’s episode! What meditation truly is, what it means, what it isn’t and how to get started with a low-pressure but effective practice today. Have a question? Want to hear me discuss a topic? Send me an email! You can reach me at wilddaughteryoga@gmail.com
My whole life changed this week! Not only did I turn 30 (what?!) but the most wonderful man in the world got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I am still coming down from the pure bliss of it all! On this episode, I reflect back on my journey and share a letter that I wrote to my former self and all the girls out there who feel the way I felt just a couple of years ago: helpless, defeated, discouraged, and heartbroken. This is a letter sharing my story but also encouraging you to know that it does get better and healing is possible. Things can and will change. So don’t get stuck, and know that there are women out there who get you and can help to support you as heal. And don’t forget, God is there for you, too. That wild daughter is inside of you, and it’s time to set her free.
I am thrilled to welcome my very own sister, Olivia, to the podcast! Get ready for a free and open discussion about Olivia’s journey through her faith, through her yoga journey, to now finding the importance of balance not only on her mat, but in all aspects of her life. This conversation was rich with laughter, reflection, and relatable stories with which I think a lot people can empathize! In what ways do you find parallels in your own story?
So you’ve been listening for a couple weeks, your interest in piqued, and you want to take a yoga class and give this a try. Where do you even start? In this episode I’m giving my tips on what to look for when choosing a studio, weighing the benefits of in-person versus online yoga, what kind of class to take, what equipment you need (spoiler, it’s none!) and so much more. So what are you waiting for?? Grab a friend and start your yoga practice today :)
How do you go about prayer and your quiet time with God? Sometimes finding different ways to enter into prayer can feel more authentic to us and help us to get closer to the Lord. In this episode, I talk about alternative ways to pray and how yoga can act as a form of prayer, honoring God and honoring your body.
Ready for some real talk?! In this episode, I share my story in more depth, from the pits of depression and despair created by a toxic relationship, to the realization that God had given me the tools to heal through yoga. I’m getting raw and real with you, so that you can start to get to know me better.
What even is yoga? Here, I’m giving a broad overview of what yoga really is, beyond just the physical practice. You’ll get some technical knowledge, a brief history lesson, as well as what yoga is not. Think of this as a primer for what’s to come!
Welcome friends, to the Wild Daughter Podcast! My name is Emma, and in this episode I share a little bit of my story and give you a small taste of what we’re diving into here: what it means to be a Christian Yogi. Practicing faith and yoga really can go hand in hand, and that’s what I’m here to talk about.
