In this episode of Impact Over Influence, we shift our gaze from celebration to compassion as we reflect on the devastating flooding across South Central Texas during this Fourth of July week. While many lit fireworks, others were clinging to hope, rescuing loved ones, praying for the missing, and mourning what or who was lost.
We cling to the truth of Romans 8:28 — "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." But how do we live that out when tragedy hits close to home?
Jesus reminds us of the two greatest commandments: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind... and love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37–39). In times like these, love looks like showing up, speaking life, giving generously, and standing in the gap for those in need.

Through Psalm 139, we remember that God has always known and seen us, even in the womb. The title of this new series is "Omission for the Commission".
Episode one will introduce "Letting Go for God". Shelli is encouraging readers to stop using todays grace for yesterdays problems. She challenges us all to start this year different giving biblical foundation that will carry us into many years to come. God reminds us in Ephesians 4:22-23 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds.
As we cast off the old self we have to actually get rid of things rather then a weak attempt to just add to the old. We hope you grab a nugget or two from this episode and share it with a friend.

Remorse is a deep regret or sorrow for wrongdoing, often stemming from the consequences of one's actions. John 15:7-8 Jesus says that His words should remain in us so that we have power by receiving what we ask of the Father. The disciples who were present at the time of Jesus witnessed his power and exercised it for themselves. Mark 3:14- Jesus is the one who appoints authority. Christ wants us to abide in him so that by doing so he will work through us. Jesus wants his followers to free people just like he did. He freed captives. His name holds power over evil. We should live our lives declaring power in the holy name of JESUS!

James chapter 4 is all about spiritual evaluation. James tells us from verse 1 that external turmoil is linked to internal troubles. These kinds of things make us so excited we can’t just hold it in. We want to tell somebody. Purpose is something we all struggle with at some point or another. Maybe you have struggled with this multiple times throughout your life. Knowing who we are disciples of is a must. Any fan of a team can tell you about that team. They know details and who plays on that team. The point of this study is to give us confidence and scriptures to back up what we believe, so that approaching others and discipling doesn’t intimidate us any longer. My prayer is to create a Bible Study that encourages others to evolve into not just being a Christian, but also a Disciple. As Disciples, we need confidence through Christ to be comfortable making our lives beneficial for growing the Kingdom of God. Let's start growing our Faith.
Our Faith and walk with Christ should always be moving forward. That does NOT mean our lives will be absent of trials and troubles. It does mean that we seek Him in all circumstances. We will stand firm and spread the Word of God. We will try our best to seek His will, not our own.
Fear not friends, the Bible tells us how to conquer all of this, so join me alongside many and lets "Spread Jesus"!
We can be affected(verb) by the world, or have an effect(noun) on the world! If we repent to be forgiven, but we don't surrender enough to be changed, the EFFECT is lost.
