I've compiled a list of the 50 absolute best video games of all time and talked at length about every single one in a project I didn't consider would take THIS LONG to complete, omfg! But it's here and it's glorious. I hope you like it :)
I spend an absurd amount of time talking about a Russian sports sci-fi space opera movie called Cosmoball in this episode while also talking about the Sonic Advance trilogy, Amnesia The Bunker, Harry Potter smut and oh, I play Wild Arms too, stuff is happening on there I think. New episodes every Thursday ā¤ļø love ya!
In this exciting episode everyone gets some character development! And the plot thickens! And I try to disregard the main plot and go off on our own adventure to escape this confusing Vivec ass town. I also may have met multiple gods. I also talk about Sonic and absolutely gush over Jade Cocoon and share childhood stories! New episodes every Thursday ā¤ļø love ya! Also go read my Alan Wake fanfiction!
I don't want to spoil what happens in this episode but just know the monsters wouldn't ranch, tragedy strikes multiple times and North Korea is up to hijinx.
The gang explores a cave, that's it and I talk about my brilliant idea for a Waluigi game, my baby RE4, the exciting world of competitive Age of Empires 2 and the 18 games I'm currently playing and plotting future content. New episodes every Thursday ā¤ļø love ya! Also go read my Alan Wake fanfiction!
After retreating to the castle one of our party members makes a stupid decision and tactical espionage action ensues! And I talk about migraines, Resistance Retribution, the weird intricacies of MMOs, future content plan and Mario + Rabbids! Among other things. New episodes every Thursday ā¤ļø love ya!
It's time for the Ruin Festival! Where the town has gathered all of the old mechs of mass destruction in one place because that's not a bad idea of all. We find out that Heavy Rain blatantly plagiarized Wild Arms and I spend half an hour trying to get the number one spot on a time trial foot race. And I talk about my plan to cheat the PGA Tour, mini PCs, Kotaku drama and the Xbox press conference. Lots of topics, little game. New episodes every Thursday ā¤ļø love ya!
The breath of the plot thickens as we dive into our first proper dungeon, run into abominations of nature and talk about Suicide Squad, one final FF16 rant, old Call of Duty YouTubers and Drake's sausage. New episodes every Thursday ā¤ļø love ya!
The amazing underdog season of the Ravens comes to end in my 6th annual let's play of Madden 06 for GBA, the single most generic description I've ever written omfg I hate it but I can't deal with it right now I'll change it later
We've been let loose into the mysterious land of Filgaia to explore finally! And I immediately find trouble, a town that's unearthing ancient relics to put on display for a festival, of course that won't end badly at all and I talk to a parrot to switch bodies and try to get the boys to rendezvous! Honestly this whole episode was mostly exploring the town and talking to people while I rant about FF16 more and stuff but I also find the single best feature in any game ever, a built in pixel art tool that lets you make custom art for in game icons omfg! New episodes every Thursday ā¤ļø love ya
Beating out Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6 & Tactics, among other heavy hitters, we're playing Wild Arms! A game I know nothing about besides it looks like it has a western vibe. I'm aiming for a new episode every Thursday! So let's dive in and probably save the world with the forbidden power of guns, I'm gonna be real mad if there's magic or ancient alien technology in this game. Love ya ā¤ļø
I've had a love hate relationship with Soul of Rebirth, leaning towards hate, so I decided to call it quits but let's try to take down Ultima Weapon and the unknown palace one more time at least but first me and the babe argue for half an hour about who would win in a fight, Godzilla or King Kong, the obvious choice being Godzilla. So bucket in for the possible finale of Final Fantasy 2 Soul of Rebirth!
After a tiny bit of grinding it's time to fight Ultima Weapon and tackle the Unknown Palace! And, of course, rant more about Final Fantasy 16 and talk about everything except the game I'm playing until the game demands my full attention and I rage quit.
The season is quickly coming to a close and we're making quite the comeback, starting the season off 0-5 we've worked our way to a 4-5 record and still a chance at the playoffs! Back to back Superbowls maybe?
I played the demo for the new Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and the main character had me acting up, there's apparently a game with this handsome buff man simulator? And I finally started watching an LP of Final Fantasy 16 and oh boy do I have a rant. Besides that I talk a little about Trek to Yomi, updates on my Madden and FF2 LPs and announce my new Kofi!
We continue our romp through hell with the boys, dying constantly and meeting up with our last party member! Finding a town and buying a bunch of new equipment! And I talk about Tony Hawk and Sleeping Dogs and stuff, I don't know, I waited too long to write the description and I forgot what happened! But we made good progress and found...portals?
The annual Madden let's play continues finally, this week against our team last year AND the returning super bowl champions!
Last year I played the excellent Final Fantasy 2, my first 8 bit FF game and ever since then I've said I would go back and play the extra expansion thing Soul of Rebirth and it's finally time! So let's dive back into whatever this land is called and do stuff or whatever, I don't know what to write here!
Happy new year! Let's go to war with Orcs! Warcraft 2 is a classic and one of my favorite games of all time and I haven't played it since I was a wee lad. I was playing it a little on my own until I got to mission 4 and unlocked a core memory so come with me as I take over the sea with battleships!
I had a lot of random things to talk about, like the weird milk ads I've been seeing and the mystery of the naked guitar girl on tiktok but also my plans for the podcast, including voting on the next series! Which you can do on my Twitter (@deejvol2) the candidates are Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Trigger, Fire Emblem, Morrowind, MegaMan Battle Network, Parasite Eve, and Wild Arms. Some heavy hitters! And I talk about all of this whole following a treasure trail clue scroll on old school RuneScape. That's always a good time.
Just another game of the year podcast except this one is highly controversial and unhinged because neither Spiderman 2 or Baldurs Gate 3 even made my list, neither did Alan Wake 2! But two games from 1997 made my top 5, it's a wild list. Plus it's a top 13 games list not including a plethora of honorable mentions. Buckle up.
Monster Rancher might be the best monster raising simulator, I adore it and I can't stop playing it. There's also an anime about it and I love that too! It's centered around generating monsters from CDs. Luckily, the new switch port just lets you type the name of an album or artist. So let's get us a monster with a Rick Astley's classic Never Gonna Give You Up and raise them to be a champion!
Sometime before the year 2277 there was a man named Gary who survived a nuclear fallout by seeking shelter in an underground vault. To kill time he studied and tinkered until he accidentally discovered how to clone, so naturally he cloned himself, so he can be everywhere at once but unbeknownst to him the clones were unstable, but that's not the important part of the story, no. The important part is a few clones went missing, vanishing out of an air tight underground bunker. None of the other Gary's knew how they escaped but in reality they got thrown into an alternate dimension, into a cataclysm of their own! In this exciting new episode of Happy Created Inc we take some Gary clones into the world of Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead in this feature length audio only let's play! Grab your popcorn, it's about to get weird.
Easing myself back into making content so here's an hour of me talking about whatever has been on my mind for the past couple of weeks including how awful pokemon esports are, how awesome basketball is and everything in between.
Shadow Tower is From Software's brutal, forgotten masterpiece that's been overlooked for way too long. So I played through the entire thing (spoiler, I loved it) and I had a lot of thoughts. So let's discuss all the interesting mechanics and do a deep dive of the lore and theorize on what I think might be the biggest unsolved gaming mystery!
I took a break from my break to talk about BioShock 2, or that was the plan until I rambled on about mental health, yugioh, my art, resident evil 2 remake, a weird fight I got into in YouTube comments and shadow tower!
Astronaut Pointing A Gun To The Back Of My Head "Always has been."----I just finished the first Bioshock and it was perfect and I had A LOT of thoughts about it that I desperately needed to share, so I did while I went on a long walk on Skyrim. I also rant about mental health stuff and talk about future plans for my YouTube channel!
Madden continues as we play week 2 vs the dumb Titans. We're still playing on all Madden, will we win our first game? Or even get our first touchdown? Find out in this exciting new installment of let's play Madden 06 for GBA for the 6th straight year in a row!
Phantasy Star is the perfect game that Sega somehow made perfecter with this Sega Ages version that adds so many quality of life stuff! And I finally got it with extra gold points, so let's play it and talk about it and the series as a whole because I love Phantasy Star and I need more of it in my life but also I'm very scatterbrained and disjointed in this episode and I don't think I had one cohesive thought in this entire episode, I'm sorry, enjoy!
Awakening on an alien world with no memory, our unnamed hero tries to survive against all odds in a hostile universe. In all honesty, this is a weird podcast idea I had to roleplay me playing No Man's Sky and it's either the great thing I ever made or so bad I'll retire from making content. Plz let me know your thoughts (discord @happy.created.inc and twitter @deejvol2)
People are super mad that Starfield has pronouns despite every Bethesda game ever lets you pick your gender, it's insane, let's rant about it but also talk about some games I've had my eye on, GTA 6 being $150, Magic The Gathering and so many random topics. Classic Happy content.
Its that time of year again, the leaves are falling, there's a nip in the air and broad angry men slam into each other over an egg shaped ball, it's football season! And it's time for my annual let's play of Madden 06 for GBA, this year brought to you in podcast format! We're coming off of a Superbowl victory last year as the Lions, we step into the shoes of the Baltimore Ravens and we up the stakes dramatically, All Madden, the hardest difficulty! Week 1 verses the Colts, let's hit the gridiron!
I'm sick but the Hamlet won't save itself and my friends won't willingly go into the horrific depths filled with unimaginable monstrosities on their own, so the show must go on! And I'm eying more bacon, the bacon of a KING.
In this new episode of talking about random topics for an hour I talk about Hogwarts Legacy and moral dilemmas of liking art by an awful artist. My weird lack of hype for Starfield, my opinions and critiques of what we've seen so far of it. I take a trip down memory lane growing up with an Xbox, Fable And Halo. My up coming annual let's play of Madden 06 for GBA. Learning about mini PCs and RuneScape, lots of RuneScape.
Through a strange twist of fate I decided to give Pikmin 4 another try, so let's see if I rage quit such a chill game again and yell at poor lil Colin who's just doing his job.
I woke up feeling rough so I decided to rant about life while biking around in GTA San Andreas. But also talk about things like Oceanhorn 2, Pikman 4, YouTube longplays and my next AOLP. Along with a mental health check in and, maybe most importantly, Baldurs Gate 3! Get cozy and grab some snacks while I tell you about my very cunty morning.
In this new tiny podcast episode where I talk about my dreams I have a wild ride for you that starts off sleeping in a yard in the suburbs with a long lost dog before devolving into a plot to frame me for crimes I didn't commit through the theft of my poetry books and also I'm just randomly naked for about a third of the dream.
With several bosses down it was time to go deeper, into deadlier depths but first we take on our ancestors failed experiment...I think because I can't listen back to the recording because spotify sucks and has RUINED Anchor so I can't fully remember what happened in this episode. Rip.
In this brand new series of mini bite sized podcasts I bring you my unhinged dreams I constantly have! And in this first installment my family and I move to a third world country somewhere in Asia where I met a childhood friend, have a run in with a drug dealer along with actual gorillas in a gang while I fight for my life.
With the Swine Prince baconized, we turn on sights onto some seafood! But first, a quick scouting expedition in the pitch black with an inexperienced team with a glint of fame and fortune in their eyes in another exciting installment of the Darkest Dungeon!
I got my hands on a copy of Double Dragon Gaiden and I had to record my first reaction, being a huge Double Dragon fan and omg, oh my god, I was not disappointed. This game is amazing and faithful to the source material while adding in rouge-like elements and qiwjhdfjflowlwckdke go play this now!
I've been playing Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet and I've baffled by the story, or lack there of, and I had to rant about it and a mix of weird story things in Final Fantasy 7 that I never could wrap my head around, all while playing the very boring PUBG and also talking about the Twitter rebranding to X, among other things.
Our valiant group of adventures continues their dive into the Darkest Dungeon, this time attempting to face the Swine Prince! Will our heroes make some bacon or get fried themselves? Find out now!
I somehow managed to keep my friends alive in the Darkest Dungeon, a normal person would stop there but I'm far from normal so let's press our luck and dive deeper!
Darkest Dungeon is a game about death and going mad and I'm in love with it! I also suck at it so let's name a group of heros after my closest friends and fiance and try to keep them all alive while exploring dark, decrepit catacombs and facing eldritch horrors beyond our imaginations, surely this can't go wrong.
I decided, if I lose the 2024 presidential election I'll just become king instead, no votes needed for that. Let's get a test run of my ruling ability by playing Yes, Your Grace! A managerial kingdom simulator visual novel type thing for the Switch.
Pikman is an adorable game about finding things with the help of tiny, cute, colorful, plant things and weird two legged dogs. Along side lil aliens who just won't stop talking. This is my first ever Pikman game! So let's finally see what all of the fuss is about with this newly released Pikman 4 demo where I surely won't rage playing this super cheerful chill game otherwise I'd probably have an anger problem.
With all of the political talks I did recently I thought it'd be fun to take a political compass test to see where I would stand and I'm using this opportunity to throw my hat in the ring for the Presidential election. Deej for President 2023, don't worry I've played Stellaris before.
I'm going through a lot personally and the world seems like it's falling apart and I needed to rant about it all a bit in this new episode of Sad Created Inc but it's not all sad i also talk about Madden and RuneScape and my own great video game concept.
I've never played RuneScape before and I decided it's finally time to dive in with the simple goal of finishing one quest, how hard could that be?
This is it, we've traversed hell and found most of our ancestor spirits and we're finally ready to face the last warden and find our devilish brother who cut out our heart and stole our fiance! I don't really remember what all I talked about in this one either except that there's only two kinds of people in this world, people who like circus peanuts and people who's opinions don't matter but boy was Akuji a great game!
We ventured into limbo, which isn't the last level apparently, before coming face to face with the third warden, Purity, who's a weird big acid lady that splits into two. I think we're approaching the end!
The spirits of the dead forest are disturbed by our presence and go on a rampage while we're just, ya know, just passing through so they're a little dramatic. There's also disembodied crow wings that I use as a paraglider, I get my first game over and I talk about world of warcraft I think, I don't remember, I recorded the last several episodes in bulk and my memory has constantly failed me. Enjoy!
I decided to dive into the wonderful world of AI generated things, namely a AI generated text adventure and it was a wild ride, oh my god. The complex stories our AI overlords can weave with only the simplest prompts is certainly a sight to behold, I'm being sarcastic it wasn't great but boy oh boy was did it make me giggle. So sit back and plug into your state mandated matrix chair and listen to the fantastic tale of a spy named Double O' Eight and his fight against the Chicago separationist group.
I don't really like comic books or superheroes so naturally I spent over an hour ranking the top 50 superheroes of all time in a tier list. (Thanks to the Rolling Stones article) If you're a Marvel or DC fan be prepared to get super mad because I'm comic book illiterate and my opinions are weird but I stand by them. So get cozy and listen to me rant about various heroes, both popular and obscure and at one point I ate a baked potato.
We stan the original Dead Island round these parts so I kind of excited about the sequel but, like a lot of recent games, suffers from one of the worst inflections in modern media, the influence of Marvel movies and their inability to be taken serious and their weird pardy style one liners. But the game isn't all bad. In way more important news we got an announcement of an Iron Lung movie, I talk about the horrific locus matrix, my love hate relationship with Sudoku and how I've created a monster in Wildfrost.
The description of this episode is that scene from SpongeBob where Patrick wakes up screaming spiders and slams his entire house onto a sleeping SpongeBob. I also talk about the awfulness that is RIPD and steam games and we have our normal Twitter dive. Oh also we're still platforming our way through the underworld with a hole in our chest blasting magic.
Wildfrost is a new deck building roguelike game that came out a few days ago and luckily they also dropped a demo! The art style is like if Adventure Time met Inscryption and it's gorgeous and I love it. Let's dive in and do a run and of course not horribly fail.
Akuji finds himself in a decrepit cemetery named Discord, along with a literal death tournament and deadly puzzles galore and we also dive into more trending Twitter stuff.
Akuji's family drama journey through hell continues as we purge more of his ancestors souls and fight the first boss! I don't remember at all what I talked about in episode besides Mortal Kombat so it's just a surprise.
I was floored by an unlocked memory from my childhood after seeing the cover of Akuji The Heartless so I had to play it to see if it'd unlock anymore! Akuji is a hard name to remember but the game is kind of impressive and the story has me in a stranglehold. Akuji is a voodoo warrior boy who's fam is apparently evil. So evil in fact, his own brother killed him at his wedding, cut out his heart and did some crazy ritual to damn him to the underworld forever so he could take his soon to be wife for himself, talk about family drama. Let's go to family therapy in the hell together and see what unfolds along side deals with the devil, voodoo magic and fighting the hordes of undead monstrosities.
I had a lot of topics on my mind that I wanted to talk about so I talked about them, including Diablo 4 and general mobile gaming, the new cute fishing eldritch horror game Dredge, being evil in Stardew Valley, cool extra modes in games, my obsession with Digimon World and I somehow end up playing Morrowind. Today was a good day.
This was a weird episode that started as just me talking about some new games I got and ones I passed on, like Viva Pinata and Sid Meier's Pirates and that devolved into playing a baseball game from 1998 and then one from 2005, Digimon World, talking about mental health and gender identities and also Monster Hunter 4 and breaking down every John Wick movie. Buckle up for this long scatterbrained episode of Happy Created Inc hosted by the sort of cute and confused Deej.
With the 3DS eShop closing down I wanted to take a look back at my time with my little two screen buddy and share some stories and go over some of my favorite games and, most importantly, download and play a bunch of demos of games I never got to play! Those are a surprise, though but I will say one has zombies and the GF jumped in to play one demo with me, there's some trains and tiny little colorful guys, Dracula and monsters get hunted. This was a super fun epsidoe to record, I hope you enjoy!
I've had Metroid fever lately and I thought of a fun little mini series I'd do. Cash in on my 7 day free trial of Nintendo Online, try to finish Metroid 2 blind in a week and surely fail but have a lot of fun. I sat down, pressed record and apparently I don't actually have a free trial so I decided to just play A Robot Named Fight and the original Metroid.
I love Kerbal Space Program despite being a little dumb, but surely that won't result in the untimely deaths of many astronauts and thousands of government funding flushed down the drain, right? Let's go to space! And talk about Metroid and Warzone and probably other things that I'm forgetting because I waited a whole 6 hours to write this description after recording, god forbid my memory doesn't jettison everything into the void every 5 minutes like I'm a goldfish but this goldfish is breaching the atmosphere.
I forgot The Elder Scrolls Blades existed and, being I'm a huge fan of the series, I finally decided to try it out and it was a very conflicting experience.
What if along with nazis in World War 2 there were werewolves and possibly vampires and zombies but also life is an anime, that's Operation Darkness and I adore it. I'm going to play the Xbox 360 demo of it that I've never once beaten and see what happens to celebrate making 100 podcast episodes! I also learned turned based tactical strategy games are maybe the worst genre to do an audio only let's play of?
In the 99th episode of this podcast I finally finished FF2 in all its glory and it was a ride, let's discuss it and go over the last few bits and pieces and my final thoughts before divulging into Sonic 06 and 8 hour long Yu-Gi-Oh game speedruns and plans for the 100th episode special!
I wanted to talk at length about a game that's slowly creeping its way into my top 10, Virtua Racing. Specifically the Switch version. I also wanted to do an audio only let's play of it since a racing game would make for a HORRIBLE AOLP and thats funny so let's do a race on each course including a Grand Prix on Bay Bridge with the worst commentary you can imagine. But I also tease the next big LP, a twisty weird thing on Fallout New Vegas
The plot absolutely thickens as a succubus tries seducing me, the princess gets captured again or we never saved her I'm not sure. We come face to face with a dark magician pirate lady and discover the land of the dragoons and at some point there's an evil doppelganger. We also go to assist Minwu with finding the ultimate magic tome and we get swallow whole by a sea monster. This story is amazing.
Baten Kaitos 1&2 Remastered was announced for switch and my excitement could not be contained so I had to gush about it all and share my personal story why the game is so important to me. I hope you enjoy!
After I finished watching a let's play of FF15 I had the itch so I decided to give FF2 another try and my god am I glad I did because I think I'm in love so here's me gushing about it for 40 minutes and going over the plot and the characters and the grind. Plus I might talk a little bit about an endless AI generated episode of Seinfeld and Virua Racing.
Severance: Blade of Darkness is an action-adventure game developed by Rebel Act Studios and originally published by Codemasters in 2001. It's best summed up as if Dark Souls had a baby with Tomb Raider and that baby popped out doing a shoryuken. But that doesn't really matter because I only talk about it for, like, 15 minutes before diverging into rambling madness. Like my decisiveness on what to buy, Valkyrie Chronicles or Doom 3. My first impressions of Sonic Frontiers, streaming Virtua Fighter, I went to the casino, my insomnia, I watched a 3 hour retrospective on GTA San Andreas and the grand tale of Super Monkey Ball. I jump between topics more than a politician and completely neglect the topic of the podcast entirely and its all a jumbled mess but I hope you enjoy!
Ghost stories and tragic love, this adventure across Skyim has it all. Including a simple job delivering a love potion that devolves in becoming lost in the literal twilight zone while I go on and on about Pokemon.
I've always wanted to do my own game of the year list and now I'm finally able to! You're not prepared for the weird and wide variety of games that made the list, and the games that didn't quite make it. Including Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok I also almost die during the recording session too so that's cool.
Healda Von Scalemen continues her journey through Markarth, investigating illegal religion along with a haunted house and she comes face first with the ultimate moral dilemma, is cannibalism bad?
Hideo Kojima and his Metal Gear series is well known and highly regarded, except for one game in the series thats largely overlooked and thats Metal Gear Solid (Metal Gear Ghost Babel) on Gameboy Color. Its every bit as technologically impressive and written interestingly as any other game in the series and I finally played it. Lets talk about the little county of Gindra and its bide for independence by stealing a Metal Gear, hiring a mercenary outfit named Black Chamber and threatening the US to leave their country, but instead of negotiating with "terrorists" decides to just send in the legend Solid Snake to take out Metal Gear, but it's never as straight foward as it seems.
I learn some groundbreaking lore and Healda heads towards Martharth finally, stopping at an infested mine along the way before falling in love with a dashing miner named Perth. Healda almost gets assassinated before exploring Markath, uncovering a mystery corpse eating situation, throwing hands at the inn and seeing first hand the privatized prison problem in the city revolving around the infamous Silverblood family.
I was thinking what my favorite movies were and coming up with a little list before realizing I had some really weird picks and I think my top 10 would be a sin to movie lovers so I had to share it. Enjoy the worst top 10 movie list of all time because I apparently have the awfulest taste in movies and have absolutely no right to critique them, but I like what I like and I do what I want.
I ended up with a copy of MLB 2K12 for DS by a weird twist of fate and so I figured we'd take a look at it and I might love baseball? I'm playing as the Red Sox vs the dumb awful Athletics without ever playing a baseball game prior to this and my knowledge on the sport itself basically nonexistent, let's go. I also talk about Pokemon and podcast plans for the rest of 2022.
Healda Von Scalemen continues her journey, exploring Falkreath before setting off to the quaint little town of Rorikstead, stumbling onto one of Skyrim's greatest mysteries.
I like stand up comedy and people tell me I'm funny sometimes, so I tried writing my own stand up routine and I preformed it in front of my lovely partner despite being really sweaty for some reason. This is overall horrible but I had some bangers in there and I'm still sweaty but I'm gonna share it anyways. Enjoy!
Healda Von Scalemen decides to put her newly acquired riches to good use but first doing some fishing R&R before being attacked by hire goons. Afterwards leaving Riften and stopping back by Whiterun to visit her daughter before heading back out into the fray, towards Falkreath.
Soup and Skyrim, what more could anyone ask for? I make my way to Riften finally, find out I'm completely locked out of the city for some reason and go back to Whiterun to find some ways to make some gold, including beating up a misogynist! Afterwhich I make important life decisions on a whim and less important decisions about the podcast. All the while my partner screams in the background from playing Spyro and I talk about my thoughts on Sonic 3 and Pentiment.
This episode started off simple, find the telekinesis book and it spiraled into complete chaos, drugs, overturning of nearly every rule, death, laughs, breaking the laws of reality and the overwhelming seepage of madness into my brain and the very world surrounding me. My god.
Resident Evil 4 holds a very special place in my heart and to say I was surprised by the fact there was a new game mode I hadn't heard of was mind blowing to say the least. So I, of course, played through it and had the most surreal and polarizing gaming experience this year, possibly ever. Lets discuss Resident Evil 4 Seprate Ways!
I couldn't stay away from my first love so we're back with another audio only let's play of Stellaris! This time with a completely randomized empire, the Ytrellan! The militaristic spiritualists who look like of like mushrooms but aren't. Led by their glorious empress Su-Bo I. Lets explore the galaxy!
Yet another let's play of Skyrim but with the twist of being a semi-pacifist run, only using telekinesis as a weapon, with the one goal being to max out restoration. Mixed with playing survival mode, permadeath and using a d20 to pick a random starting location and that's how Healda Von Scalemen the Argonian was born!
The world is at peace, everyone is happy but here comes a villian to destory the world, yadda yadda. Final Fantasy 2 has classic JRPG story set up with a less classic level up system that kinda slaps and a gorgous art style. Lets play it a little.
I've never really gotten into comic books or comic heroes but then I learned about Composite Superman. A villian who's costume is half Superman and half Bafman and he looked ridiculous and great so I bought my first comic book ever and now 8 years later I'm finally reading it! So let's read World's Finest issue #142 "The Composite Superman" and Chapter 2 "Clash of the Titans" and discuss it and over analyze it to all hell and give my very under qualified opinion about it.
Here's some Watch Dogs Legion where I'm a 72 year old theater critic with a grenade launcher named Edmon here to save London at a brisk walk, its all his old bones can handle.
I don't know anything about football but that didn't stop me from taking an ok Arkansas State team and completely running them into the ground for 5 weeks, losing every game and not even scoring once but my spirit is unbroken and so is my controller, for now. Let's see how week 6 goes vs thr North Texas Mean Green team, who's mascot is a dumb bird and not an anthropomorphic bottle of household cleaner disappointingly.
I'm not dead! I haven't been making content but I'm finally getting back on the horse and had somethings I wanted to talk about like The Last Man on Earth, life hacks, Grand Theft Auto Advance, the Toejam and Earl anniversary and future plans for audio only let's plays and YouTube things.
It's been a year since I started this podcast and to celebrate I wanted to do something super special. I've somehow managed to never see any of the Star Wars movies in my life and it's time to change that, sort of. Because I couldn't just watch the movies, no, I had to be extra and instead play through the original trilogies Game Boy Advance adaptations. So buckle up and sit back while you listen to me play through the timeless tale of Luke Skywalker and his massive daddy issues for 4 straight hours in this blind reaction to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and finally Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Seriously, buckle the fuck up.
I finished DMC2 the other day and thought "wow, Hideaki Itsuno really fucked this up, let's play another game he's made" so I played and just finished the cult classic Dragon's Dogma and I had a few thoughts and feelings about it. Mostly story and lore wise, so let's break down the entire storyline and ramble for an hour about little details and side characters that don't really matter and unravel the dragon destroying world plot and reveal the true story of questioning if free will exists, heartbreak and challenging god.
I keep looking for a way out of this forest soft lock hell with my baby dragon while talking EVEN MORE about Devil May Cry but I finally finished it so thereās that. Also how cute Pikman are and that things are apparently coming out of black holes now and weāre all gonna die! Oh and Skyrim, I talk a lot a hour Skyrim.
Still softloced, I decide to talk even more about DMC before switching to Fatal Labyrinth to try it out and talk about the lore of both games! And also talk about that weird Robin Hood game, the age old question of would you suck a dick for $20,000 (my answer will SHOCK YOU) and Assassins Creed Valhalla.
We continue our journey with this dragon egg except I almost completely ignore anything thatās actually happening in the game to instead talk about my first impressions with Devil May Cry, the new movie Prey and I go too in-depth talking about chess strategies.
It took months but my AOLP the classic Game Gear RPG Dragon Crystal is finally here! Thereās both dragons AND crystals in this obscure 90s dungeon crawly roguelike. I actually kind of like it.
With the wars dying down, a new war sprung up and it was a war of information! Iāve learned about spies and nothing will ever be the same again with the existence of interstellar dragon spies. Weāve also started development on gateway research into transversing said gateways, exciting! I also talk about Team Fortress 2 and real deep dive of Dishonored lore. Also also shout out to the Paradox employee who listens to the podcast apparently.
We were bored and decided to copy a tiktok trend we saw of a guy playing cards against humanity with his cat. Basically reading the card and having his little kitty pick one at random as a response. Hilarious things ensue.
It took me three days to put this together but itās finally here, the grand finale of Dragon Quest! We finish up finding everything we need, getting better gear multiple times and traversing the Dragonlordās castle in hopes of saving the world! Big shout out to my friend Ginormous for giving me the game!
I spent off time talking to every NPC in every town, piecing together what to do and I found a lead! I travel around the world several times in this episode alone and I talk about things like Josh Strife Hayes and his PokƩmon Red video essay along with the Gothic series and Skyrim.
Iām alive! And weāre back with Dragon Quest where I unveil that Iāve been grinding off recording, throw myself at the green dragon several times again while I talk about cool things like the movie Sorry To Bother You, my new blog and book plus The Division mobile game and the complete ball drop that is Skate free to play.
Continuing our journey to save the world or something we run around almost aimlessly talking about things like Anger Foot, Rainbow Six 3 and how GOOD RESIDENT EVIL 4 IS DRAGOON WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. We also run into a real life dragon!
This episode takes some wild twists and turns, to the point where Iād hate to spoiler any of it so Iāll just give you the bare bones description, Amelia and Ruka set off from Squin in search of adventure and run into a rather dashing wandering assassin.
We find ourselves barricades inside the workshop of the prison with rampaging zombies outside waiting to tear our faces off. Stuck between concrete walls and metal bars we strike a plan, we need to build a primitive rock drill, but first we need to find a razor and we saw one sharing a cell with a hulking zombie boy.
A friend hooked me up with this game and I promised to do some content on it and Iām glad I did because Dragon Quest is kind of great! Iām a descendant of a bloodline of heroes and I have to save the world but instead I went to a new city and paid a girl to puff puff me.
After years of consuming Kenshi content I can finally make my own in the form of a mini series, and like my other AOLPs, I suck at the game and chaos is surely coming! Take a journey with me, Amelia Earhart, as she awakens in a hostile world of dust bandits, rouge skeleton robots and monsters of all shapes and sizes while weāre nearly penniless and alone.
Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead is a special game where anything can happen and the only thing certain is death, weāll be trying our best to avoid that. Hereās the beginning of a new mini series where we begin our life as Berthold Fox, a convict in prison at the end of the world. The apocalypse is upon us and our harsh prison life just got worse! Before, we worried about getting shanked in the yard and now, our biggest concern is getting munched on by hungry zombies and weāre stuck in a locked down prison with them. Letās see if we can escape prison and death. (Send in your CDDA character stories to be featured on the next episode @DEEJVOL2 on Twitter!)
In the final installment of the Crystax journey through the galactic community, will they finish their research to open the mysterious gateway in their home system? Will they enact even more revenge of the Zedron or even Beldross? Will they fight for their independence against the Katzna? Find out now!
With the Crystaxās back pushed in the corner, the chips down so low theyāre sharing space with the core of Game Gear, they showed what it means to be a galactic CRYSTAL DRAGON! Also with a pinch of sweet revenge and future plans of domination. The come back is real and itās in motion.
The gf and I play the new Fall Guys free to play attempt and boy do we suck. LOUD AUDIO WARNING. We also talk twilight and the new Sims 4 werewolf expansion.
This might be the beginning of the end. With our economy in the worst state itās been in the history of our spacefaring species and fighting yet another invasion of an alien menace, our trusty leaders dying and our secret shadow council not being nearly as powerful as we thought, the end is approaching but weāre proud crystal dragons and we wonāt go down without a fight.
The economy is on the brink of collapse, our scientists are working on the most important research but very very slowly and the Zedron are still war hungry. But we do have destroyers and an over talkative shadow council thatās more interested in talking more depth about Dishonored lore and Torchlight 2, with a dash of Sonic Frontiers on the side.
Objection! The gf and I talk about a lot of dumb topics in this one, from Harry Potter to entire movies in gif form, confusing Xboxes and of course, Torchlight.
The Crystax face their own apocalyptic event in the form of more wars, while I talk about the movie Donāt Look Up, my obsession with Torchlight 2 and the abysmal Alex Kidd. Among other things. Weāre back baby.
The gf and I havenāt been able to fully sit down and record a full episode so in the last couple of months weāve recorded a total of, like, 4 minutes of the podcast so I mixed that with some old clips we never got around to using and made this bonus-ish episode. Itās a mess and itās all over the place and Iām not even sure whatās all here, enjoy.
Iām sorry for the lack of content but hereās a review for Blasphemous, the Metrovania/Dark Souls 2D side scroller. Less of a review and more of a delusional rant fueled by anxiety and insomnia.
Itās the Dragonball Z episode, thatās it, thatās the descriptionā¦but also weāre reforming our government finally along with our fleets, thereās mysterious sapphire monsters in the deep reaches of our space and youāll never ever guess what happens yet again.
With the war over the Crystax empire was in shambles, but not destroyed. Itās time to rebuild and finally install the regenerative hill tissue on our ships! While I talk about Yu Yu Hakisho and Halo. Also we have Starholds and theyāre glorious.
As the second great war rages on the Crystax donāt cower, they fight head on and bravely but with the odds so heavily stacked against them, will this be the end? Not to mention as the brave Crystax are dying the leader of the cunning shadow council is just in his room raving about Urbz Sims in the city, Sonic Origins, a story of a time traveler and memes on the internet.
After an extended hiatus the Crystax return in a blaze of glory and horrible managerial skills! Old threats rear their ugly heads once again, we STILL havenāt finished researching regenitive hill tissue and we name more planets after obscure Sega games.
Iām finally getting a grasp on these new mechanics as I take our war torn Crsylax empire and try my best to not only rebuild the economy, but have it flourish. I also talk about weird food combos and team fortress 2, good episode, very chill.
The best duo in the podcasting business come together once again to talk about important things, like shooting Jedi with guns and slapping comedians.
The Crystax cling to what little hope they have against the absolute onslaught of the Zedran fleets. Luckily their brilliant and handsome leader of the shadow council has a couple more tricks up their sleeveā¦after putting us all here in the first place by their horrid managerial skills.
In traditional Fiery Biscuits fashion we discuss if spices became anthropomorphic, which ones we would smash or pass. The Gf also calls our Russia and abuses me. Also Steve Jobs kicks down our door from playing a copyrighted song on my podcast thatās hosted on Apple Podcasts.
Tensions rise between the Crystax and the entirety of the rest of the universe as we meet the rest of the spacefaring aliens. We also try our best to build all of the spaceports and an extreme electric pulse comes from the ominous gateway, putting our home planet, Game Gear, in dire jeopardy! This whole episode is an utter catastrophe.
This episode was action packed! We run into other intelligent life in the universe, Skelly goes on a suicide mission INTO the mysterious gateway and for the first time in Crystax history we move some dragon boys onto a brand new planet, planet Skittles.
In the next thrilling installment of the Crystax takes over the galaxy, they slowly expand their borders while the ominous gate keeps being ominous. Lots of scientific discoveries happen too but more importantly I rant about everything.
After a big poll of what my next audio only letās play should be, Stellaris came out on top! Now letās see how many episodes it takes for me to inevitably cause the extinction of our dragon aliens known as the Crystax. Either from my own negligence or the giant mysterious gateway in our home solar system.
Iām coming up on the tail end of my stardew valley obsession I think so I havenāt been playing as much but BOY has some things happened. A mysterious war veteran, a dwarf and SKELETONS. (Also Iām partly sick and stuff so this one is very low energy and bad)
Another Stardew Valley update just for Dragoon. Itās winter, I started dating someone and I mastered fishing! And Christmas is upon us.
The GF and I discuss in depth what superheroās and villains weād smash or pass. Thatās it, thatās the episode.
This was very impromptu. Ghostwire Tokyo Prelude came out and we sat down to play it and it both occurred to us it would make a good podcast episode and our first LP so we just went for it. Spoiler, the game is pretty sick.
Honestly itās been several days since weāve recorded this and I donāt remember everything we talked about but we bounce from topic to topic like ping pong, enjoy.
The finals for the next LP is upon us and itās between Stellaris, the grand strategy juggernaut in space and Dragon Crystal, a relatively unknown Game Gear dungeon crawler rpg, clearly the underdog in the fight. Vote which one you wanna see (or rather hear) on Twitter @deejvol2. I also talk about Sifu, a Witcher 3 fanfic Iām writing, and give Stardew Valley updates.
I was tasked with growing 100 yams and some juicy gossip happened that I HAD to talk about. Lewis is a freak. Plus the Stardew Valley Fair happened and I crushed it.
I couldnāt stop thinking about Streets of Rage 2 so hereās more of it plus, help me pick my next audio only letās play! Narrowed it down to 6 games. I also ramble on and on about Elden Ring and some quests I did in The Witcher 3, spoiler alert I threw a baby in an oven.
We cover a lot of topics in this episode and also play pure pool at the same time. I show off my acting skills and we talk about what PokĆ©mon we would smash or pass and the cool Witcher 3 play that we watched. Among other things that I canāt fully remember.
I give a quick tour of my farm in Stardew Valley and introduce my cat and two chickens and talk about the mysteries of Stardew Valley, plus my love interest and spilling ALL the tea on the town gossip.
My friend in discord suggested playing Streets of Rage 2 on the podcast so I did! Iāve only played the first game so this was completely blind but first impressions, I like it. Very good music.
The ānext genā patch for Cyberpunk 2077 came out, adding new apartments, some new weapons and bug fixes. Actually a pretty big list of things they added and twerked. I havenāt seen this much tweaking since I first installed TikTok. Letās review it.
Listen to me go in depth about the Dark Soul series (Souls Series? Soulsborne Series? Did we decide what to call it yet?) as I rank them from best to worst and analyzing what makes a good Souls game. Youāre gonna get mad.
The GF and I take turns playing Pac-Man to see who gets the highest score while talking about current events, like the guy selling his kidney for an NFT or that weird Anti-Work Reddit mod.
The GF and I talk about 5 of our favorite games.
Thatās the episode but I have a 4 thousand character limit. Iām gonna write a short story to put here.
The Dramatic Pong Championship of 1973
The backsplash of high rises against the deep blue afternoon. Competition was the coming storm, filling the air with electricity. Today was the single, biggest event, possibly of all time in the history of man. The first, and last, Pong Championship. The insane amounts of talent and athleticism all cumulated into two, perfect beings. Riley āThe Pong Predatorā Flynn and Billie āThe Death Paddleā Lee. After a year of competitions, it all came down to this. The two greatest athletes of the human race.
The stage was set, Pong was set up and being projected onto massive screens in the middle of Madison Square Garden. Every seat filled, everyone else glued to their black and white TV screens. The world on edge.
Billie came on stage first in their flamboyant entrance. Iām talking white tigers, fireworks and jets overhead. The crowd ate it up.
Riley was late, though. 10 minutes went by, then 20. Billie looked to be crowned without even a fight but finally Riley came running to the stage.
Their shirt tattered, bleeding, out of breath. They accused Billie of hiring a mafia hit squad to take them out! Billie shrugged, denying everything.
The referee stepped in. Saying something along the lines of āthereās no time for that, letās get to pong!ā The crowd exploded. The game began.
Riley served and the little beep could be heard around the world. Billie scrambled to return, barely getting to the ball in time. Beep. Riley spun the ball, flying fast and high to the top of the screen! Billie tried but failed to get to it in time. 1-0. Riley thought to themselves ā9 more to goā.
Billie answered back with a few points of their own. They were neck and neck. The score hit 6-6 when Billieās girlfriend ran on stage to their side. She confessed to cheating on Billie, with Riley the night before! Riley smiled a devilish smirk before taking advantage of Billieās sadness and scoring another point. 7-6.
8-6 and 9-6 came quick. It looked like Riley was going to take the win when the doors bust open and in came Marco āHorsefaceā Romagnoli, infamous hitman for the Romagnoli crime family, rushed to the stage. āYouāve paddled your last pong, pong predatorā he yelled before hitting Riley in the back of the knee with an iron bar, knocking them down. Security quickly grabbed Horseface but the damage was done. Riley was a competitor, though, and kept playing. But they were dazed. 9-7. 9-8. Billie was catching up.
Billie lined up another shot but before he could execute another point, an official looking man in a suit grabbed him and pulled him down. āWatch outā he yelled. Billie did serve the ball in time, though. āThereās a sniper!ā The man yelled, the shot meant for Billie striking right where his head was a moment ago. Riley smirked again but ultimately failed to return the ball. 9-9. The man then pulled an RPG, launching a rocket at the sniper on the catwalk overhead.
It all came down to this final point. Billie and Rileyās eyes both lit up and sparkled. Back and forth the ball went, Billie and Riley ascended to a higher plane of existence. The whole place rumbled and shook, itās like they were levitating. Modern gods fighting with unearthly powers. The whole world was moments away from ultimate destruction.
They both spontaneously combusted, vanishing before the worlds eyes and a quietness took hold. Billie was the last to hit it and with neither of them there, the ball slowly made its way to the opposite side before making a buzz. Billie technically winning.
Every government in the world came together to declare pong be outlawed, for if two people even slightly stronger ever come to be and battle in pong, the world would end. Where Death Paddle and The Pong Predator went, no one ever knew.
This was recorded over the span of several months in little increments. I also never planned any of it. Itās a mix of interviewing my girlfriend, random conversations with her and stuff. Theres 5 minutes of us rating names for boobs, after that the interviews start. Enjoy.
Finally, the start of my next audio only letās play and itās on The Warlock of Firetop Mountain for Switch. Itās essentially a choose your own adventure book x dungeons and dragons. Weāre going in with Alex of Blacksand (super good name) and Iām not very subtle.
Listen to me play Breath of the Wild and try to find this fish boys wife while I ramble about things like the classic Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Jingle All The Way, the most underrated game of the PS4 generation, the happy holidays vs merry Christmas debate and SO MUCH MORE!
In this new series Iāll be reading through various books in Skyrim because Iāve been playing the game for a decade and have never read any of the books. This one is the sequel to The Woodcutters Wife!
In this new series Iāll be reading through various books in Skyrim because Iāve been playing the game for a decade and have never read any of the books. This episode is on Kolb & The Dragon, basically a choose your own adventure book and thatās my ultimate weakness.
In this new series Iāll be reading through various books in Skyrim because Iāve been playing the game for a decade and have never read any of the books. This one is the best one Iāve read so far. No spoilers but itās spooky. 10/10.
In this new series Iāll be reading through various books in Skyrim because Iāve been playing the game for a decade and have never read any of the books. This ones about cats.
In this new series Iāll be reading through various books in Skyrim because Iāve been playing the game for a decade and have never read any of the books. Yngol and the Sea-Ghosts is about a warrior who loses and avenges his kinsmen.
In this new series Iāll be reading through various books in Skyrim because Iāve been playing the game for a decade and have never read any of the books. The Darkest Darkness is about the history of Demora in Morrowind. Pretty neat.
After the horrible riots of 1915 or whenever they happened, the mayor decides not to rebuild Happy Created City but instead lavish the last remaining building and resident. All the while spending the treasury into a debt unlike the world has ever seen, connecting to a neighboring city and once again raising taxes!
The expansion of Happy Created City continues as the mayor nearly ignores concerns for a lack of police (I say almost because I did increase funds to the police and start a neighborhood watch, so itās not like I did nothing) while he stood at his podium rambling about Super Metroid, Shining Force and NFT scams.
In theory, I thought this would be a perfect audio only letās play game since thereās ample time for me to talk about random topics but in practice, Iām on the fence. Itās just my dumb voice with no background noise. Anyways, in this exciting episode of the birth of my own city I ramble about the travesty that is the GTA Remastered Trilogy, the tragedy of Skyrim fishing and my villain origin story that can be summed up in two words, pink comb.
This episode is ACTION PACKED. I take on Wattson, the electric gym leader but I also talk about Thief and Dishonored a little, along with Mirrors Edge and a story from my childhood (teenagehood?). I mean, kind of, I mentioned them, I donāt know if Iād say I ātalkedā about them. Filmed in front of a live studio audience.
In this long awaited episode of PokĆ©mon Emerald Nuzlocke aggressive trainers keep popping up every damn where while I talk about the amazing Gloomwood. Along with Dishonored, how I finished Prey and Serious Sam The First Encounter. Max Payne and the new GTA Remastered Trilogy But I donāt talk at length about any of them like I wanted but boy do I touch A LOT of topics in this one. Also a new addition joins the PokĆ©mon team.
Iām finally back with more of my PokĆ©mon Emerald Nuzlocke run. I have no idea where we left off, so I walk around nearly aimlessly and sail the open seas, talking about the latest happenings in the video game world. I promise I do make a tiny amount of progress though.
Iām proud of this title. Anyways, in this episode I actually play PokĆ©mon! And make progress? Who am I? Weāre still in Slateport delivering things and we pick up a new team member.
27 minutes of me running in circles in a tiny patch of grass, ranting until my face turns blue about IGNās best video game of all time. Also at least a good 5% of gushing over my favorite games. 2% PokĆ©mon.
I spent most of this episode wondering aimlessly through a very dark cave and talking about things thatāll be outdated info by the time this episode comes out but progress was definitely made.
In the thrilling continuation of my in the gutter, against the ropes PokƩmon Nuzlocke run, Grind God the Magikarp hits the gym and I introduce a whole two new segments into the podcast. Wow.
This is my first excursion into podcasting so be gentle. To start off Iām doing an audio only letās play of a PokĆ©mon Emerald Nuzlocke run, with a twist. I had already started the run before I decided to make it into a podcast and things are looking grim. All of our PokĆ©mon have died except for a Whismur named beats by Dre and a Magikarp named Grind God, our one, true, last hope to save the run.
