The Burning Ones podcast purpose is to equip and encourage you to becoming a person who burns with purity and passion in following Jesus.
One of the truths revealed in the beginning of scripture is that it was not good for man to be alone. This truth is carried throughout the scripture and is played out a great deal in the book of Acts and in Paul's apostolic writings. I greatly encourage you to throw aside the fear of the unknown and embrace living fully in community.
The apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:1 that there is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. As followers of Jesus, condemnation is not your portion. We are created to walk free of shame and guilt. In this sermon we will look at reasons why some remained bound in condemnation and the results of that. We also talk about walking free of condemnation by keeping our gaze on Him.
As sons and daughters of God not only do we hear His voice but also host His voice. In this sermon, we look at 2 Kings chapter 4 and the story of the shunammite woman and Elisha in an allegorical setting.
T. L. Osborn said the purpose of a spirit filled life is to demonstrate the supernatural power of our living God so that the unsaved multitudes will abandon their dead gods to call upon the name of The Lord and be delivered. We are commanded to be filled with the Holy Spirit. In this sermon we will look at the correlation of being drunk with wine and being filled with the Spirit as the apostle Paul talks about in Ephesians 5 and much more.
Smith Wigglesworth said that he never spent more than 30 minutes in prayer but never went 30 minutes without praying. What would a people look like who devoted themselves to becoming a people of prayer? What would be the results of the regions we live in if we lived surrendered in this thing called prayer?
As sons and daughters of God, the foundation of our life must be His presence. In Acts 17 we read, "In Him we live, move and have our being." Apart from His presence we cannot truly experience life as God created it. Value for the presence of God places you in proximity to the presence of God. You will never be in proximity to something you don’t value.
What is the kingdom of God? In simplest terms it is the rule and reign of God. As sons and daughters we have been given the high honor of boldly proclaiming this message to those around us. The commission that Jesus gave to the twelve and to the seventy is the same commission for you and me. Preach the Kingdom is at hand: heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils and cleanse the lepers. We are not waiting on the Kingdom; the Kingdom is waiting on us.
Genesis 37 introduces us to a young man named Joseph. Through a series of events including being sold into slavery by your brothers and falsely accused of rape, Joseph becomes second in the land of Egypt. In this message we look at two characteristics that was present in his life; being rooted in love and having a godly character.
Matthew 14 is the account of Jesus walking on water. As the disciples realize that this is indeed Jesus, Peter ask if he too can walk on the water with Jesus. As long as Peter keeps his eyes focused on Jesus, he walks on water. However, the moment distraction steals his focus is when he starts to sink. What empowers us to live a supernatural lifestyle is when we learn to keep our gaze only upon Jesus.
One of the greatest truths we can come to live from is the fact that the price to pursue God was paid completely by the Son. There is a freedom we step into when we realize our striving will never compare to what His grace pours upon us. Because of what Jesus accomplished, there is a door of access readily available to those who desire to walk through.
As followers of Jesus, we were intended to do life together or as a community of believers. In the garden before the fall, God said that it wasn't good for man to be alone. Adam experienced God without any limitations and yet it still wasn't good for him to be by himself. You and I were meant to flourish and grow in the context of community.
The promise of Isaiah 55:11 is that the word of God does not return void without accomplishing the purpose for what it was sent. One of the challenges we deal with is learning to see and think from Heaven's reality. What changes our perception must be the word of God.
As believers, we were created to live from a posture of rest. What enables a person to live from a posture of rest is when they are rooted in beloved identity. What would it be like to no longer strive for approval? If you are in Christ then you are fully accepted by Father and you too can live from rest.
Genesis chapter 1 tells us that the earth brought forth vegetation, plants and trees which produced after their own kind with seed in them. If creation reproduced after its own kind and we are born again of imperishable seed according to 1 Peter chapter 1, how much more should we resemble the seed we are born of?
In Acts chapter 8, persecution has come upon the church as never before. However, how the early church responds to it caused the gospel to spread into surrounding regions.
