Hidden away from view on one of the back streets of Liverpool's popular shopping area, is the city's oldest surviving building. The Bluecoat is now an Arts Centre but when it opened it served a different purpose. In this episode we talk about it's beginning and the long difficult journey it took to get to where it is now and the people that helped it get there.
The Liverpool Overhead Railway, or as it was known locally 'The Ovee' or 'The Dockers Umbrella', is a one of the more forgotten parts of Liverpool's past. An essential form of public transport for any Scouser, the Overhead Railway spanned 6.5 miles up and down the Liverpool docks and waterfront. In this episode, we charter the story of The Ovee, why it was built, how it was created and why, if it was so popular, did it come to an end?
