What about feelings that you're not enough, or you're not doing enough? Those are thoughts or beliefs that Christians battle constantly. I
n this episode, the host, Iesha Grove, explains how we should think about God's grace, as well as how it can be dangerous when we add things on to God's grace. It's God's grace, and God's grace alone. We don't need to add on to that. But how do we embrace God's grace fully and realistically into our lives? You'll find out exactly that, in this episode because the truth is that God's grace is for you!

Being able to help someone else out of their mess can feel empowering. When you're the used to being the person who fixes things, sometimes it's easy to try to step in to help others who don't want to be helped or rescued. In this episode, the host Iesha Grove, shares some personal lessons learned in trying to rescue other people who aren't wanting to be rescued. Naturally, as fixers, it's easy to want to come in to save the day for someone else, but this habit can be harmful not only to others, but to ourselves as well. It can cause tension in a relationship, and it can even create toxic behavior patterns like co-dependency. You can even start to neglect yourself and your needs to be there for everyone else- self sacrifice and love for others takes priority because you care and you don't want those around you to suffer so you're willing to do whatever it takes to support them. The issue is that the path to true love is loving yourself first, setting boundaries in your relationships, and taking care of yourself first physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally in order to have the capacity to support others. Listen in to learn the way that you can help someone without "helping" them so that you can protect your relationships and your own mental, emotional, and physical health. After all, you have to rescue yourself first before you can save anyone else.

Carrying shame in our lives doesn't help us accomplish more, it haults our progress and hurts our spiritual growth. If you want to combat thoughts or beliefs, or even the projections of others of shame to be who you're meant to be in Christ, then this episode is for you. Shame can't coexist with grace. It's no match for God's grace. Iesha Grove, reminds us to focus on what matters in our lives- thing like the fact that we're forgiven, chosen, set a part, and loved. Have you ever found yourself feeling guilty over something that you didn't do as a Christian like not reading your Bible, or not spending an hour in prayer? If so, take a listen to this epsiode where, the host, Iesha Grove explains how we can trap ourselves into thinking that if we check off all right boxes in life, that somehow, we're earning favor with God. Instead, we can be free of the weight of what if's and put the focus on God and His grace. It's a process to break free from legalism, and it's a hard one. It requires investigation and decision making to truly live in God's grace and not cultural/traditional chains. When we truly live in God's grace, it's not an excuse for us to sin, but it becomes the reason why we make the choices we make each day and continue to be in relationship with God. Let us know what you see differently after listening to this episode. We can't wait to hear from you!

It's easy to think that God will give us everything we pray for so long as we wait on Him. However, in today's episode, the host, Iesha Grove, challenges that idea. When we operate in a limited mindset, we also put limits on God. God invites us to actively participate in His plan and partner with Him. A deep connection with God isn't transactional, it's relational. It's about connection, alignment, surrender, faith, and action. Today is the day that we stop sitting on the sidelines of our lives, waiting for God to do all the work and using excuses to justify our inaction. Iesha discusses the affects of relying on signs from God as confirmation that we're doing the "right" thing.

Do you ever feel like you struggle between whether or not you need to push yourself to keep going towards your goals, or take the time to slow down and rest and give yourself some grace? It's a hard thing to try to figure out, especially when you're tough on yourself already. Sometimes it's not clear if what you're experiencing moment to moment is a fleeting feeling or a signal from your body and spirit telling you it's time to take a break and rest from the constant pursuit of going after your goals/dreams. The Encouraged Overcomer Podcast host, Iesha Grove shares the insight she mentioned to a friend who had the question, "When is it time to have grit and push past my feelings or show myself grace when it comes to getting things done?"

The trick is figuring out what is what and how to respond in a way that benefits you and your efforts to get you to that goal/dream without the burnout. Do you struggle with perfectionism? It's hard to let go of things when you're constantly trying to make everything just right. It's hard to ask for help when you're used to doing it on your own, or you know that your way is better. However, God's way is better, and when we let go of perfectionism, it doesn't mean we just let things go. As believers, we sell ourselves short by thinking that we can only show our best selves in order to be effective in what we're doing. However, the opposite is true- we relate and connect to others through the messes of our stories. Embracing our authenticity allows us to empower others to be themselves and take ownership of the thing that they can control in their lives. In this episode, I share a story about how I am constantly working on myself in this area of perfectionism, and how it held me back from accomplishing things more effectively and efficiently. You're in for a laugh, as well as some encouragement for your day. Please leave a review, and let me know if you can relate. I can't wait to hear from you!
Anger is NOT wrong! There are so many misconceptions that anger is a bad thing- something that we want to avoid at all costs. God gave us our emotions- He wants us to FEEL the world and make sense of the world around us! In this episode, we discuss how we can change the narrative on anger, and harness it in order to continue moving forward in life. There are people around us who we need to have an honest conversation about anger. If you feel stuck in a rut, and it seems like you can't get out of it- check your emotions. Let me know what you believe to be true about anger! I can't wait to hear from you.

The breakthrough of your success is determined by how you consistently show up for yourself, and address the triggers that creep up along the way. In this episode, the host, Iesha Grove, shares her personal story about how she was recently faced with a situation at work where she didn't show up for herself the way she wanted to. She talks through how she felt in that moment, after it happened, discussions with her co-workers and God surrounding it all, and ways that she was able to address it in a way that might resonate with you as well. If you're a high-achiever seeking to be aligned with God's plan for you life goals, professional goals, or relationship goals, this episode is for you! In this short episode, I share a recording with you that I created a couple of years ago, with the important message that you're not alone. I briefly share the powerful Bible story about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, AND how they got thrown into the fiery furnace. Sometimes just as they did, we have to go through the fire and we can't avoid it. The good news about that is that Jesus is standing there in that fire with us. Trials will come that will make you feel alone, forgotten, abandoned, and rejected. In those times, instead of allowing those things to make us bitter, we have an opportunity to fully rely on God and His Word- that He will come through for us. It's easy to want to feel sorry for yourself when times are tough, but true testing where you endure, results in the most incredible outcome.
Verses that you can claim during the trials and lonely times are:
1 Peter 1:7 "That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:"
Job 23:10 "But he knoweth the way that I take: When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold."
Isaiah 13:12 "I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir."
1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
Matthew 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

We all have had special people cross our paths that leave the greatest impression on our lives and hearts. Vicky Lynn Burcham was one of those people- she was a teacher, a friend, a child of God, who was taken too early. Fear is a Liar! It can make us believe lies a bout ourselves, our situations, and others. The Bible tells us that God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. When we give fear a place in our hearts, it will paralyze us from stepping into the purpose that God has for us. In this episode, I share the story about David and Goliath, as well as a story a bout a fear I overcame through the help of some friends, and we will go over the consequences of living in fear-and the action step you. can take today to be one step closer to what God has for you. Also, let me know what action step you will be taking after listening to the episode. Faith over fear!
You're worth it, my friend. You deserve all the good things that are coming. God has big plans for you. I know it's hard to believe. Sometimes we've been living in our own "crap" for so long, that we forget it stinks. We tell ourselves lies that we aren't worthy, or we don't deserve good things to happen to us, or that God has forgotten us. The truth is that you have to believe it and set yourself up to receive it. Life ways us down and distracts us from the big picture. The longer you stay stuck, the harder it is to get free. That's where God comes in. It isn't too late. In this episode, you will learn the 3 areas in my life that I changed for my own breakthrough, as well as some insight and steps on how you can join me to do the same in your own life. We all have moments of sadness, anxiety, loneliness, and feeling of depression. Sometimes people think that you can just shake it or stop the feelings, but it doesn't work like that. Depression starts in stages. First, it starts out small, and then it can turn into a consuming thought, and before you know it, you wonder how you got there in the first place. Depression can be confusing. Often we think that if we do more, we can somehow block our feelings and just push through and try to do more, be more, achieve more. In this episode, not only do we cover the stages of depression, but also how to pull yourself out of depression. Do you ever think about what the Bible says about depression, or was there someone in the Bible who dealt with depression? I share the story of Elijah, as well as tips on ways to get back to feeling good again for those who might be struggling in the area of depression. If you are feeling depressed, get help, and don't give up. I'm cheering for you, friend! If you are looking for someone to help you overcome this and get to the next level in life, please be sure to DM me on Instagram the Word- Breakthrough so that we can connect.

Do you have a hard time forgiving yourself? Well, you're not alone. Sometimes it seems easier to forgive others. We can be prisoners to our own punishment. In this episode, I explain the steps to take to forgive yourself for past mistakes so that you can move on and be exactly who God intended for you to be. Forgiveness doesn't mean that you will forget, it doesn't take away responsibility, or justify your actions, it brings freedom mentally, emotionally, and physically. Think of all the times that God forgave us. God wants us to forgive and love those around us. What better way to show the grace of God than through forgiveness!
Have you been talking to God and feeling like He isn't listening? Could it be that it's the other way around? A lot of times we ask for things from God, or we want God to answer our prayers, but our heart is not aligned with God. In this episode, I explain how we can get our hearts ready to listen to God, as well as some additional insight on what the Bible says about our heart. We have to give God His rightful place on the throne of our heart. When we seek Him first, and we commit to doing His work, we will receive blessings and live a purposeful life. Guard your heart by evaluating what you watch, see, hear, and speak and stay encouraged!

Do you ever feel like giving up before you even get started? It happens to the best of us. Motivation comes and goes. If we try to stay consistent off of motivation alone, we set ourselves up to fail because there's no way to STAY motivated all the time. Creating discipline in our lives is what will give us lasting results. Doing it when we don't feel like, not constantly giving ourselves a pass before we've earned a break, and changing our perspective around the way we look at failure will speed up the process. Remember your why. You decided to ___________________ fill in the blank. Lose weight, get up early, workout more, go to sleep earlier, get more sleep, cook dinner at home more, spend more quality time with your family, stop watching so much tv, and the list goes on. It's time to keep your word so that you can reap the rewards from being the overcomer that you are. Galatians 6:9 says, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." When you make a decision, it's because you know that it will change your life fo the better. If you expect to have "growing pains" and remember that soon those feelings will pass, before you know it, you'll get past the breaking point. "Without a vision, people perish." It's so easy to get caught up in day to day life, that we forget to focus on what matters. Join me in seeking out the purpose/dream/vision that God has for reach of us as individuals. There is no one else like you. No one can do it like you, and NO ONE can dream like you can. What is God pushing you towards today that you need to take action on? The purpose of this episode is to encourage you to find your dream and purpose- God's way. It's so hard to change we go through life. Especially when we're used to doing everything on our own. Sometimes we feel stuck because of our own doing, and it makes whatever we're doing take even longer than it should. Why? Because as believers, we're meant to call on God and Jesus to help us- even in the small things. In this episode, I share how easy it is to give excuses about why we are choosing to stay stuck and in the dark. We don't have to be alone, or live in resistance. We have Jesus! Jesus will bring the light into this dark world, and He will shine the light to guide us in our next steps. We’re so used to showing people our “good” side- smiling photos, epic highlights, stories that brag about our achievements, and we put up a wall when it comes to being vulnerable. We all want to succeed the first time- so when we fall/fail it hurts. In this episode, I share a story about how I tried something that I hadn’t done for a long time, and I was afraid to fall. Failure can be disappointing if we let it get to us. I hope that you will walk away from this episode feeling encouraged to be okay with “falling” If this episode was helpful to you, please share it with a friend and leave a review. I appreciate you, and I’m grateful we’re in this journey together. God is with you!
Restarting can be so discouraging! We all have been there before where we've set goals that we wanted to achieve, but then life gets in the way and derails our plans to accomplish even the smallest of goals. As Christians, we can't just go about your goals the same way as the rest of the world. In this episode, I walk you through the process on how to build habits that stick to help get you the results that you're seeking that also align with the Bible. Make sure you grab a notebook and pen to keep notes because you will want to be able to go back and refer to the notes as often as needed to stay on track. Below, is the Free Printable Bible Verse Cards for you to cut out and carry with you throughout your day to help renew your mind with the Word of God, along with two of the books that I mention in this episode for a deeper dive into knowing your why and focusing on one thing to knock out your goals:

Do you ever feel like you know God has big plans for you, but you're not getting anywhere when taking action on your dreams? It's easy to want to quit when things seem stagnant. Some even take it as a sign that they should move on to other things in life. I love this conversation with Steven Barr, the founder of The Disney Cast Member Church, as he shares his story about how he had to forget about everything he knew should work when starting a ministry, and let God take control. Steven was able to start a non conventional church and reach many people for Christ. Sometimes the things God puts on our hearts doesn't happen in the way we want it to. God is still working and He is on the throne! This purpose of this first episode is to bring hope that no matter what you go through in life, you are meant to overcome. Not once, or twice, but over and over again, just as our savior did. We each have our own story that makes us unique and connects us to each other. I share part of my story with you in this show recording. Be sure to stick around until the end to get your extra dose of encouragement for the day that we all need, and remember that you're not in this alone.
