Although the twenties can be a time of excitement, new experiences, opportunities & self-discovery, it's safe to say that many of us also experience a lot of internal stress! A lot of the stress we experience comes from our own pressures & high expectations for ourselves & our futures. We place so much pressure on ourselves to be successful and land that perfect job, to be financially secure and move into that perfect apartment, to be keeping up with our peers, to have that perfect summer body, to have quality friendships and relationships, and pressures to have high performance in every area of our lives. This can cause unnecessary self-induced stress and prevent us from living in the present. In this episode, we’re pushing external stressors and environmental pressures aside because according to psychology, we too are the ones to blame for our stress levels.

In this episode, we dive into the following:

  • The twenties and the pressures that we place on ourselves in this decade
  • The Psychology of self-imposed stress & being trapped in a toxic cycle
  • My own experiences with life stress & realizations about myself
  • The familiarity & habit of stress
  • The sense of accomplishment associated with stress
  • Social validation & perceived productivity
  • Fear of failure & inadequacy
  • The rise of perfectionism in the Gen Z generation
  • The balance between healthy doses of stress & toxic stress
  • Chronic stress
  • Tips to overcome & manage stress!
  • My experiences with journaling

This episode is all about the belief that we have in ourselves, and in our own abilities to achieve our goals and turn our dreams into reality. According to psychology, we not only have to believe that we can achieve our goals but also that we will achieve our goals. That we have the drive, motivation, and commitment to follow through with our goals. This comes down to our self-confidence & self-efficacy!

In this episode, we take a deep dive into:

  • Self-efficacy and its recognized importance in creating success
  • The difference between self-confidence & self-efficacy
  • The qualities of people with high self-efficacy
  • My own gaps in my beliefs about myself & my skills
  • My personal struggles with self-efficacy
  • The importance of celebrating small wins & tracking progress
  • Playing to your strengths in life
  • Setting goals in line with priorities & values
  • How seeing others succeed boosts our self-efficacy
  • Seeking positive affirmations

I think too many dreams and goals have been dismissed due to fear of judgement and social criticism. This episode is not here to tell you to just get over what other people think of you and start expressing yourself because quite frankly... it's not that simple. There is alot to say about purpose these days and I believe for good reason. However, there are layers to purpose that I would like to unpack in this episode. This episode is not designed to stress you out into thinking that you may need to find your one lifes purpose or you won’t live a happy and fulfilling life, not at all! I instead, talk about purpose in a more realistic and relatable way that doesn't end with you banging your head on the wall questioning whether or not you have purpose in your life. Although it is arguably an important question.

In this episode we dive into:

  • What purpose actually is and how it relates to our lives
  • The health benefits of having a purpose
  • How different cultures view purpose
  • Identifying a purpose
  • My conflicting views on purpose and the stress associated with the idea of needing to 'find a purpose'
  • How purpose is misrepresented in social media (in my opinion)
  • Having a more relaxed view on purpose in life

I have learned the power of asking for what you want in life! I genuinely believe that in order to live a life that we love, we must be able to initiate difficult conversations and speak up about what we want and where we see ourselves moving in life. We limit so much of our potential for happiness & growth if we are unable to address the areas in our lives that aren't bringing us up.

In this episode, I will get into:

  • A Personal story of how I struggle with asking for things...
  • Are you an asker or a guesser?
  • Do Australians struggle more than other cultures with being honest?
  • The importance of speaking up & asking for what you want
  • How difficult conversations are a stepping stone to life changes
  • My tips for being more confident in having uncomfortable conversations

And a whole bunch of stories!!
