This wasn't an easy decision but at the end of the day I know it's the right one because as I explain in this episode. I've been struggling lately with my own mental health and knew that something needed to be done. As someone who is learning as much as I can about mental health to be able to help others during their journeys surrounding mental health, I quickly realized that I wasn't paying full attention to my own. And within the last two weeks I've just felt drained and off (just not like myself) and haven't had the motivation to get anything done. So, with this stepping back I plan on really focus on me and I'm hoping to be able to reconnect and recenter myself and come back as stronger version of myself than I am today. I love being able to create this content for you and love being able to support you in any way that's possible. I still have very big plans for this podcast and know that once I'm able to really get myself in the right head space, I'll be able to create even better content then before. Thank you to all of you who have been listening, supporting, and loving this podcast up to this point. This is also a sign to anyone else who might be feeling the same way I have been, maybe it's time for you to take a step back and revaluate your life and see what's needed to be done for you to come back as a stronger version of yourself as well.
I'll be talking to you again really soon. Again thank you and sending you all my love!

In today's confession I talk about how for sometime I wanted/waiting to receive praise from other because I thought I needed to know that I was doing a good job at whatever project I was working on and when I didn't I would take it personally like it meant that what I was doing wasn't good enough and that I wasn't good enough. I had to learn to be proud of myself for the work I'm doing while knowing that even if I only get one listen or one like or one comment that someone wrote about what I was doing. I didn't have to apply more meaning to it about how I able worth to myself. It takes a lot of practice but is worth it at the end of each day. And wanted to share my feelings around this subject with you.

Lately I've been thinking about why I get so mad at myself for taking a rest day even when I know I need it. The other day, which was during the week. I knew that I had things I needed to get done but instead I decided to take a rest day since I was mentally burned out and just wasn't motivated at all but half way through the day I got upset with myself for not getting any work done when I knew I need this rest day and that made me think how many of us feel this way? How many of us punish ourselves for taking a day to rest and recover? When really it's okay to take a rest day, we as humans will over work ourselves until we are burnt out instead of just taking the time to relax and come back when we are ready, so in today's episode I address this topic and share my feelings around it. And I'm here to tell you that it's okay to rest and come back when your ready. Don't over do it. Learn how to take care of your body and mind before overthinking and over working your body because that's going to get you no where. So, today let's learn to rest more and worry less.

My confession is that I'm still scared of all the judgement from this world. Over the last two months I've started to become a more confident version of myself but that doesn't mean that I'm not scared anymore about what others are going to say about the things I talk about or the things I post. Last year, those comments would have destroyed me but coming into this new year I knew that no matter what the judgement from others were going to come up, no matter how hard I tried to not hurt anyone's feelings someone would still get hurt. Also by realizing that there's always going to be someone who doesn't agree with me or doesn't like what I'm posting and knowing that, that's okay. We weren't put on this earth to make everyone else happy, to be friends with every person we meet, and there will always be that one person who's hating on everything we create no matter how hard we try to make them happy, it's not going to work and guess what that's okay. I'm still learning as I go but just want to be open and honest with you on how I was feeling and hope this can help someone else who might be feeling the same way. This confession is to remind you to never give up on your passions and to keep pushing forward because some will like you and others wont and that's just fine.

Do you have control over your environment? If not, then it could be affecting your mental health without you even realizing it. Your environment contains the places you go and the people you surround yourself with everyday. Everyday you are the one who is deciding every single decision you make and you are in control of who or what you allow to be in own inner circle of life. Everything around us is our environment and has helped played a role in who we have become today. If your surrounded by love, compassion, and encouragement to reach for your dreams then your going to feel good about yourself and your going to work at what you love to do everyday but what if your surrounded by negatively, hurt, pain, and none of your friends or family member believe in you then your going to start becoming a negative person and your going to start to believe that all those dreams you have are stupid and there never going to happen. Your environment is so important for your mental health because it can play a major role in how you feel about yourself, how your taking care of yourself, and how you view the world around you. In todays episode I share why this plays a big role in your life and for your mental health also I share personal stories that I've been through that has helped me realize that I needed to focus on me and my mental health more then focusing on what other's needed from me and about how unhappy I had becoming in my day-to-day life.

The most power thing you can do is share your story because this allows you to connect with others on a whole other level that you wouldn't have even imagine. Now you don't have to share everything, only the things you feel comfortable sharing because truly it's all about you. I've learned just in the month of January how important it has been for me to share my story with the world and how many amazing people it's connected me to with just doing so. Today, I share with you how I feel about sharing my story and encourage you to do the same. Because I'm telling you that just being you and sharing your experience with mental health, just might be the thing someone else needs to here and in return might help them/encourage them to share their story as well. There's no better feeling then connecting with people who truly understand you and want to reach out to let you know how much it means to them to know that they aren't alone in this world and how much they can connect with the words your putting out there in the world. Yes, it's going to be scary but I'm telling you it's so worth it. You never truly know who your inspiring! Can people really be suffering from multiple personalities or is it all just made up? First let me tell you that this disorder is real and there are people out there who are suffering from it. I can’t even imagine what it must feel like to feel like you have multiple personalities trying to live within one brain and one body. To waking up and not remember the day before, to feeling like you’re having an out of body experience watching someone else control your mind and body, or not being able to control when that other personally is going to take over. Out of all the different mental health illnesses I’ve researched this one to me seems to be the scariest one, not just for the person who’s suffering from it but also for their loved ones who have to help/understand what’s going on. What happens when your depression gets so bad that you start to question everything you love to do? This happened to me on Monday, my depression came tumbling in hard and started to make me believe that it wasn't worth my time to continue creating podcast episodes/YouTube vlogs since no ones listening/watching them any ways. Now in reality that's not how I truly feel and I know that people are indeed listening/watching my content but in that brief moment I let my depression get the best of me. And I let it make me feel worthless and feel like this thought was the truth. But after talking it all out with my fiancé Ken, he asked me the two most important question that I will never forgot especially on those days when my depression tells me I should just give up and I wanted to share them with you because I thought that if I feel this way sometimes there's other people who have felt this way as well and these two questions might as be the ones that can help them realize that they should never give up on those dreams/goals they have on their hearts because when you have a dream in your heart it's there for a reason. Enjoy!

Being consistent on its own can be hard, right? But what happens when your mental health illness gets in the way of you being consistent with your goals and dreams. Do you simply choose to give up? I hope the answer for you is NO! So, then what do you do when you don’t have the motivation to keep going on those hard days, well today I share a little bit of my story behind trying to stay consistent while dealing with my own depression. How I felt like I needed to show up when I didn’t want to and how I felt like I would be letting people down if I didn’t get myself moving. But how taking sometime off to take care of myself was so much better then pushing myself to the edge of no return. How many of us have tired to keep going even when we don’t feel like it and how many of us have lost the passion we had for those goals and dreams because you’ve pushed ourselves to show up when we shouldn’t have? Here’s another question to ask yourself, have you ever felt burned out because instead of listening to what your body needs, you instead keep pushing until you can’t push no more. One of the biggest strengths so far this year has been so listening to my body when it’s telling me to slow down and take a rest even when I didn’t want too. Because I now know that if I would have pushed myself to record the original episode I want to record instead of taking the time off, it wouldn’t have come out the way I wanted it to and the message behind it wouldn’t have been as strong. So, I want you to remember that being consistent in life is going to look different for everyone.

Now people on the internet can be ruthless, they can judge you for every little thing you do but if you believe it or not, they’re not going to be your toughest critic. Do you know who is? If you guessed that it, was you then you were right. You alone are going to be your toughest critic even when you don’t realize that you’re doing it. Think about all the thoughts you have during your day, now think about how many of those thoughts are ones where you’re tearing yourself down. Most the time we are making comments to ourselves about our bodies, hair, clothes, and decision we’ve made during the day but for someone who’s struggling with a mental health illness. We tend to tear ourselves apart at every turn. From the thoughts we have, to how we react to a situation or conversation, and to how much our mental health illness controls our days or life. So, today I share with you three tips to help you overcome self-doubt and judgement, to help you treat yourself with some love and compassion. Being hard on ourselves isn’t going to make things better there just going to make things worse. So, give this episode a listen and give yourself some grace because we all are meant to be kind to ourselves. Self-care is key.

What if your someone who is dealing with a mental health illness, do you find it hard to openly talk about what your going through without being judged and feel like people just don't want to understand what your going through then this episodes for you. People will always fake being okay when on the inside they are dying. Remember to be kind to others because everyone has a bad day, and sometimes, they don't mean to be rude to you or hurt your feelings. Confession #2 I share with you why it's easier to fake like everything's okay rather than openly talking or sharing how you truly feel. Sometimes, it's hard for other people to truly understand what's it's like to walk in your shoes. So, it's easy for those who struggle to not openly talk about it mostly because you don't want to answer all the uncomfortable questions that they might get asked.

Developing open communication about your mental health is going to be the key ingredient in your mental health recovery. Being able to communicate how you feel can help others to understand you better and we all want to be understood. However, mental distress can affect communication, so there are times when it can be much harder to find the words even for articulate people. Forming those health relationships with friends and family are going to be part of your recovery process because when you feel like your understood then you don’t ever have to feel like you’re fighting this battle alone. No one want’s to ever feel misunderstood, therefore we need to start having more open conversations about our mental health journeys, struggles, and fears. The more we share, the more comfortable others will feel, and the easier it will be to understand. If they don’t know what’s going on with you then how do, we expect them to ever understand the struggles we feel every day.

A 5-minute mediation - The mind benefits from stillness so today we are going to relax and let our minds relax as well. With these busy life’s we live, we are constantly always moving. So, choosing to stop and let your mind be still could be so beneficial for you. I chose to do a non-guided mediation today to see if you would like these types of mediations over guided but if you love the guided meditation in the future, I’ll continue do those one. If you don’t have a preference, then I’ll keep flipping how I do them. Hope this mediation is very helpful for you and can help still your mind for just 5 minutes.

Seeking help shouldn’t ever be looked upon as something that is negative or something that is wrong to do. In this week’s episode we are talking about how asking for isn’t a weakness. Why do we feel like it is because I think for so long a negative light has been shined upon it and we need to work on changing it into a positive light! Seeking help is the best option for anyone who’s suffering and for anyone who needs to have a safe place to openly talk about what they are going through. So, let’s start encouraging people to seek help rather than promoting them not too.

It’s 2021 so why can’t we openly talk about are own mental health issues. In this week’s episode we talk about why we hide are own suffering from our friends and family, and how in the long run it can hurt us more than we might realize. Talking about are mental health should be an important topic and we need to start checking up on the ones we know that are struggling. I share with you some ways we hide it from others, and how you can start identifying some symptoms your loved ones are doing to help them finally come out and openly talk to you. Struggling alone is hard enough if we could just feel more comfortable to open up. Just maybe it would make things a lot easier.

Meditation is a great way to reconnect with your soul. So, every fifth episode I’m going to switch between meditation episodes and journaling episodes. For the first one I decided to start with a meditation episode because meditation can be a great way to just free your mind of all the worries and reconnect with yourself. For this episode we take some time to just close our eyes and clear our heads. I just started with a short few minutes’ meditation to give you a little practice of what it’s like, in the future the more we do the longer the meditation will become. But I want to start doing these and journaling as a daily practice for anyone who’s struggling with their own mental health because it has helped me some much with reconnecting back to myself and helps clear my mind when I’m going through a tough season of life. So, I hope this can help you too. Enjoy!!

Also being able to teach and learn with our kids and teens so they also know what their going through as well. In this week’s episode we dive headfirst into why we let our depression start defining who we are. It really isn’t who we are on the outside but because we start to feel so crummy on the inside, we start to let it run our lives and control our moods. This episode is all about helping you get out that funk you might be in or just simply realize that you are so much more then your depression, and you shouldn’t let yourself get stuck in this circle of lies that we continuously tell ourselves. Also stuck in all the lies we tell our friends and family to get ourselves out of the plans we’ve already made, to only stay home and sit in our own grief. I know that dealing with depression can be hard but I’m hoping that one of these four topic’s I’ve gone through can help you realize that you have a bright and beautiful future ahead of you. You just must find the strength and braver that I’ve always had inside of you and let that guild you’re through this rough time.

In this weeks episode I dive head first into depression itself. I decided not to just read you the definition but to give you insight of what depression is really like, and how it affects people's life's. From how it makes us feel to all the thoughts around it. Depression isn't easy to talk about but I feel like the more we can learn about it, the more we can start to understand what it really is, and how people are feeling.

Also I added in the beginning of the episode that I am not a therapist, doctor, psychologist, or counselor. I am simply just someone who struggles with mental health and knows that it can be 100 times harder to struggle alone. So I'm passionate about creating a safe place to learn more about mental health and a place where you never have to feel alone again.
