In this episode, I'm delighted to introduce to you Dr. Elva Zou. Elva is Director, Regional Head of Growth & Strategic Operations, Merchants at Grab. Elva is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University Singapore. She uniquely has one foot in STEM and the other in her high-powered business role. This is a fun conversation that brought me right back to my Oxford experience, where Elva and I first met. You'll hear Elva describe how she created career opportunities, the steps to take when looking for a new role and advice around getting promoted.
Lidia De La Cruz was great to speak with today on the podcast. She works as a Consultant Developer at Thoughtworks and shares her unique story coming from an entirely different background and pivoting only recently into tech. With a background in Psychology and Occupational Therapy, she developed a keen sense of empathy and shares how this makes her contribution in tech more valuable. Welcome to today's episode with Dr. Margaret Dominguez from NASA. Margaret is an Optical Engineer who recently got promoted so you'll hear all about her story which is very unique. She grew up on a pig farm in Mexico, but with the support of her family, her own determination and intelligence, she became a successful engineer at NASA, working on the Roman telescope. Whatever you want to do in life, you can get there. Margaret prioritises planning and organisation to help her reach her goals.
My guest today is the one and only Tenay Barker who is a software engineer at Microsoft. She shares openly her experiences of being a non-binary women in tech. I loved speaking with Tenay. Her honesty was brave and inspiring. She shows up in work as her full authentic self and shows how you can benefit more by integrating both personal and work self.
