If we want to create a Christ-centred environment of encouragement, hope and consolation, we need to understand the purpose and power of the Gifts of the Spirit as outlined in Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians.

The Corinthian church was a mess of selfishness, disorder and self-promotion. In this context, Paul brings them back to the fact that God’s Spirit works through our lives for the good of others, not just for our own platform.

In this message from our Sunday Service, David digs into these ideas and helps us understand how to recognise where God is working in and through our lives and how we can more simply flow with words to encourage and build up others.

In this episode, David talks with Louise Davies MBE of Christian Action Research & Education about her heart to reach people with the love and life of Jesus and her journey to becoming a voice of influence in Westminster. Everyone is called in to ‘full-time ministry’. Not to become church leaders but rather to reach, influence, love and serve their personal worlds. Your workplace, street, and friendship groups are your mission fields, so how do you carry and outwork a real sense of mission?

How can we live with hope in hopeless situations? How can we refuse to be defined by fear and disappointment? In this Easter Sunday message, delivered live at Kempston Street, David looks at Jesus resurrection appearances to the disciples and encourages us that, even for those who feel they have no courage, there’s a source of hope in Jesus.

Just as the crowds who greeted Jesus during the original ‘Holy Week’, we often fail to see who He really is, projecting our expectations on to him, about what he’s supposed to do in our lives and what His Kingdom is like (if we think about His Kingdom at all). In this Palm Sunday message, David looks at the way in which Jesus’ Kingdom is both way above our best hopes and also gets right to the heart of how we live out our lives.

Jesus called out a culture amongst the Pharisees whereby they did ‘everything to be seen by others' and instead demonstrated a life completely secure and completely opposed to self-promotion and selfish ambition. We all have a need to be valued, seen and successful but we often get caught up in unhealthy ways to meet that need. In this message from our Sunday Service, David looks at ways in which we can find freedom, security and success with God as we follow Jesus into humility.

We all carry the effects of the trials of life and the testing, difficult seasons. For those who are following Jesus, there remains a promise that everything that we go through can bring about an increase in maturity, character and even hope. In this message, spoken live from our Sunday Service at Kempston Street in Liverpool, David tackles a subject essential to developing as healthy followers of Jesus. The final part of our TRANSFORMED series.

Love is more than just a soppy concept; it can make us do brave (crazy?) and courageous things. As disciples of Jesus, the love of God is the source, fuel, and power of our formation, growth, and maturity. We're called to know Him, and knowing Him leads to us being transformed by his love. In this message, recorded live as part of our TRANSFORMED series, David delves into this subject so take a listen if you want to be empowered by the love of God and live a life of the same kind and the same way as Jesus.

As we continue our series, TRANSFORMED, David speaks about the importance of setting time aside to be with God and the deep difference it makes to our lives and experience. (Recorded live at our Sunday Service on Kempston Street, Liverpool.)

In the first part of our TRANSFORMED series, David looks at key elements of our God-given identity and how that helps us break free from the negative impact of our culture and histories. (Spoken live at our Sunday Service on Kempston Street in Liverpool.)

How do we create truly authentic relationships and friendships? What are the challenges we face as we do and how can we overcome them? What’s the difference between our cultural approach to ‘love’ and what the bible speaks about? This conversation with Rachael Bird, Joseph Hindley & Ivandra Matenja, hosted by David Stoner, will help us. Recorded live at our Sunday Service on Kempston Street in Liverpool.

It’s good when we all want to achieve great things together but the quality and character of the relationships amongst our team will define how and if we make true sustainable progress. Recorded live at our Sunday Service in Liverpool, David unpacks some key statements from Jesus and the New Testament writers about the definition of friendship and how that impacts upon us as a team, in church and in our everyday lives.

Jesus and the writers of the New Testament emphasised the importance of genuine love and deep relationships within the church family - both for our own well-being and as an indication to the wider-world that Jesus is at work. In this message, recorded live at our Sunday Service, David looks at the implications of this for our lives and how we can recognise and deal with the walls we put up between us and others.
