I recently had the great pleasure of chatting to Vicki Scheffel, Project Coordinator of Eyethu Hout Bay Skate Park in Cape Town. We spoke about what skateboarding in doing to help keep the kids off the street in Hout Bay and how skating is helping to bring the youth of Hout Bay together no matter there circumstances and background. While they have had incredible success through the new skate park since COVID19 hit South Africa they have really struggled. Operation Smile has for a long time provided life changing surgeries to anyone with cleft lip or palette. Essentially giving them their smile back.
