Being avid gamers, we love to play video games. But being adults, we also have responsibilities. This brings up some questions: why do we play video games? Where do games fit in our lives? What do we think of the gaming industry nowadays? Join us as we ponder these questions and much more!
As adults, there are plenty of games that we're nostalgic for, but how does that nostalgia affect our gaming habits today? How does nostalgia paint our vision of the games of our childhood? Can we be simultaneously nostalgic and objective about our favorite games?
With some recent controversy surrounding Nintendo and Sony, the subject of video game preservation comes into mind. What is video game preservation, why should we do it, and what is the best way to preserve a game?
Sometimes a game can be "hyped up" by the fans, the developers, or both, and sometimes games don't live up to the hype, or even come out at all. For this reason, is hype culture damaging to video games and their development?
Also, we talk about a very interesting viewer question regarding violent video games.
