Focusing on the journey we all share, while providing different vantage points from those around us with similar challenges. We live in a world that ironically feels more disconnected even with the advent of the internet and social media. Hope this provides people solisce that their challenges are not only singular to them.
On this episode, my cousin, Josh Lu, gives us a preview into his journey from pivoting away from the traditional Asian career path. After graduating UCLA, he opted out of applying for medical school to pursue his passion for food. Little did he know that this would lead him down the path at working closely with a chef that started a restaurant that received a Michelin Star in 2019.
Tune in to hear how he's ventured from doing private catering, starting a cookie business, and now to his new project, MRT!
Wow can you believe it, we're on episode 5! For this special milestone, I've been saving this guest, Rowena Tsai, who has amassed a large following on YouTube through her own channel and Beauty Within (2 million+ subscribers), among many others. She gives us a behind the scenes look into her 180 journey of pivoting from her party lifestyle in college to her spiritual, introspective individual trying to make sense of the world.
Get ready for quite an interesting, raw episode where we share our childhood memories to her thought process of creating her own personal brand.

Where do I begin… is it from the humble beginnings of a social gathering while working at Tesla or to being a back-up model? I have the pleasure of having my good friend, Matt Do. You’ll maybe know him behind some of those recap videos you see from DJs or that post on Subtle Asian Traits that blew up. He’s got a life that I’ve admired for quite some time, but during this episode I get humbled to learn that it’s not glitz and glamor. Come along for the heart to heart conversation.

Here's an episode that I didn't intend for it to turn out like... Well first, you'll notice one amazing upgrade when you tune into this episode. :)
I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside him at my last company, and couldn't be happier to have Miles Chiong on this podcast. We delve into how it's like leaving the Bay area to move to a new state to his early childhood days of stealing chicken (wait what?!). Like many of you, he's gone through his fair share of childhood experiences where he's had to proactively make a gut instinct on which path to take at each crossroad.
Sit back and get ready to learn like I have about the mindset of optimism and the impact of having mentors in your life.

On this episode, I'm joined with my good friend, James Li, who is the CEO/Co-Founder of Mighty Health (YC backed company). For those who don't know, YC is responsible for household tech companies like Airbnb to Reddit that you might have used before!
James walks through his journey about how his childhood and life experiences brought to life this vision of helping the elderly stay active. If you look at health and wellness, it's a topic that is running rampant with COVID and there hasn't been much focus on the elderly demographic, like our parents.
You'll get a chance to hear a transparent, yet vulnerable perspective as we delve into our untold stories. Would recommend sharing this with others who might resonate with this and have been greatly appreciating everyone's support/advice along the way!

I sit down with my good friend, Justin, to learn more about the untold story to how he ended up at DropBox right out of high school. He shares the pros/cons to his decision, while letting us into his journey and struggles along the way.
