Triumphal Feast is the podcast and radio ministry of Elder Bryce Lowrance, pastor of Mount Paran Primitive Baptist Church in Social Circle, Georgia.
“A Proper View of the Ministry” • 1st Corinthians 4:1-7 – Elder Bryce H. Lowrance – The Church at Corinth was divided into several factions. This was caused by an improper view and loyalty to the various preachers who had spoken there. Today’s message will explore the role of perspective of God’s ministers of the gospel. They are the “under-rower” which is an unseen servant position that simply does the will of the Master. They are also stewards of God’s word. This means whatever understanding they have been given about the Bible it is to be dispensed to God’s people not to gain fame or reward.

“FOR the Church” • 1st Corinthians 3:16-23 – Elder Bryce H. Lowrance – Part 2 of this message continues with the theme of humility in the church of God. Church is not about us, it is about worshipping Jesus Christ and being a blessing to others. Our focus should not be on a single preacher or on our personal needs. We are called out the world to worship as a single body – The Bride of Christ.

“FOR the Church” • 1st Corinthians 3:16-23 – Elder Bryce H. Lowrance – Not only is each individual child of God the Temple of the Holy Spirit, the church collectively is the place where God dwells! Knowing this, we ought to understand the purpose of ministers of the gospel as servants to the church. Preachers should not exalt themselves and members should not exalt preachers because the most important thing in the church is Jesus Christ and the church is His Bride.

“Being Spiritually Minded” • 1st Corinthians 3:1-15 Part 2– Elder Bryce H. Lowrance – The church at Corinth was more interested in competing for their favorite preacher than serving God. This caused divisions and great spiritual decline. Part 2 of this message continues to focus on how to fix this problem. The remedy of the problem in divisions in church is to focus on humble service to one another.

“Being Spiritually Minded” • 1st Corinthians 3:1-15 – Elder Bryce H. Lowrance – The Apostle Paul now begins to address the specific problem with the Church at Corinth. They were not growing in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. The fact that they were divided into various parties was evidence that they lacked spiritual maturity. The remedy to this problem begins with a proper understanding of the role of gospel ministers. They are not lords over the church, they are servants with the same job. The focus in worship should not be on the abilities of the preacher but the glory and power of God.

The only way to find peace in our lives is to faithfully follow the God Wo was faithful to save us and redeem us. The true source of peace is fully understanding that Jesus really did finish the work!

Glory & Shame • 1st Corinthians 1:26-31 – God’s sovereign grace in the salvation of His elect is an unquestionable truth taught in the Bible. However, many think that the message of salvation by grace plus nothing does not give enough credit to the will of man. The Apostle Paul in this passage teaches us that the only One to be celebrated in the scheme of salvation is God Himself. Therefore, men’s desires, ideas, and philosophies will only lead to confusion and shame. It is good for God’s people to humble themselves and see the need they have in a complete Savior. When they do they will glory only the Lord!

The Foolishness of God • 1st Corinthians 1:21-25 – Elder Bryce Lowrance To the world God and salvation by Christ alone seems foolish, but to us who are already saved, it is the power of God and gives us peace. Part 2 of this message begins with a look at Jesus’ statement in Matthew 21 where there are two distinct groups described. One stumbles at the cross of Christ, but the other is crushed by His mighty power. It is clear that the world hates the message of Jesus but it is the most precious story to those who believe.

The Foolishness of God • 1st Corinthians 1:21-25 – Elder Bryce Lowrance continues in the expository series on Paul’s first letter to the Church at Corinth. To the world God and salvation by Christ alone seems foolish, but to us who are already saved, it is the power of God and gives us peace. In this sermon, we see the importance of belief. It is an objective fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is King of all creation. Whatever a person believes about this does not change this fact. However, our perspective of this fact has a great effect on our lives. If we do not believe that Jesus is the substitute sacrifice for our sins, we will stumble in our understanding of Who He is and why He came. On the other hand, if do believe He is our Savior, we ought to be active in our service to Him.

“The Cross of Christ Is Enough” • 1st Corinthians 1:17-24 Part 2 – Elder Bryce Lowrance In the confusion of this message, we return to Isaiah Chapter 29 and learn that looking for confidence in ourselves or in things of the world will always disappoint us. And so it is with our salvation. If we trust in the work of Christ and our faith, we will be ashamed. However, if we trust in Christ alone, we will find that the simple gospel is true – The cross of Christ is enough!

“The Cross of Christ Is Enough” • 1st Corinthians 1:17-24 – Elder Bryce Lowrance The Church of God at Corinth was established on a very strong foundation of Biblical teaching by the Apostle Paul. They understood that the finished work of Jesus Christ was sufficient for their eternal salvation and that the simple message of that in the gospel was enough to give them hope of eternal life. However, after the Apostle leaves, the old tendencies and traditions of men crept their way back into their thinking. They had developed cliques and false doctrines that taught adherence to the law or men’s phil osophies were also needed in addition to the cross of Christ. Paul sets the record straight – The Cross is enough!

Baptism • 1st Corinthians 1:13-17 – Elder Bryce Lowrance The Apostle Paul makes an interesting statement when addressing the division in the church at Corinth. He says that Christ did not send him to baptize. What did he mean by this? Does this mean that baptism is not important? To answer these questions and others, Elder Bryce explains several passages regarding baptism found in the New Testament.

Divisions • 1st Corinthians 1:10-16 – Elder Bryce Lowrance The Church at Corinth was a miracle of the Lord Jesus Christ but, like most churches, it had problems. Paul shows this church that the source of all their problems was that they were divided. These cliques were teaching different things and practicing different things. This made it easy for error in doctrine, practice, and discipline to get a foothold in the church. Contrary to liberal Biblical thinkers, doctrine does not divide. Incorrect doctrine, like that being taught at Corinth, divides. But the true doctrine of the finished work of Jesus Christ is the only thing that can unite the children of God in a church.

001. “Sosthenes Our Brother” • 1st Corinthians 1:1 – Elder Bryce Lowrance In this introductory message to the 1st Corinthian letter, Elder Lowrance takes us back to the founding of the church at Corinth as recorded in Acts, Chapter 18. One of the main reasons that the Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the Church at Corinth is because they were divided on many issues including, race, doctrine, practice, and church discipline. Sosthenes was the chief ruler of the synagogue when they unbelieving Jews tried to have Paul kicked out of Corinth. Obviously, sometime later Sosthenes was changed by the Lord and became a believer and supporter of the Apostle Paul. He mentions Sosthenes in the opening sentence of this letter to show that men can forgive, be reconciled to one another, and live in harmony.

It is basically an abridged version of the 1st Epistle that John wrote. The themes of the letter are the sovereign grace of God, Eternal Sonship, avoiding the antichrist doctrine, and encouragement to live life for others.

Who, when He was raised from the dead was crowned once again in the sight of all mankind and secured the eternal victory for God’s people. The assurance of this salvation is based on the covenant of grace and election that God made before the foundation of the world. Jesus had victory over death and the grave. He will destroy all His enemies. He did all of these things by His own power. Therefore, we are duty in church worship is to praise the power of God alone.

But God’s word is true. God promised to deliver His children from the vain lies of the wicked, and He has proven trustworthy in that He preserved His written word for us all these generations.

“If The Foundations Be Destroyed” • Psalm 11 Elder Bryce Lowrance looks to Psalm 11 and considers verse three “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” He notes the previous Psalms leading up to it and how Psalm 11 has a glorious, emphatic theme that we must trust in the Lord. Brother Bryce looks at the likely occasion that frame the Psalmist’s statement in verse three, and then he looks at the numerous scriptural proofs that refute the foundations ever being destroyed and other lies and strategies of the devil. Of the remaining verses, Brother Bryce shows us that God is unaffected by the devil, that he chastens whom He loves but doesn’t destroy, that the Lord will judge the wicked, and that we should glorify God for His righteousness and trust Him.

“The Cry of the Oppressed” • Psalm 10 Part 2 - Elder Bryce Lowrance The conclusion of this message begins with an explanation of verse 8 and describes how it is that Satan and workers of evil lurk in secret places attempting to snare the people of God. The Psalm concludes with the promise that God will deliver His people and judge the wicked.

“The Cry of the Oppressed” • Psalm 10 Elder Bryce Lowrance points out that the same writer who said “God is our refuge and a very present help,” also cried out that it seemed God was very far from him in times of trouble. This imprecatory Psalm records David calling for God to judge against the wicked, and in particular the “wicked one.” David reminds us that God doeshear and answer prayer. One day, Christ will return and sin will be completely driven out. Until then, we are to trust the righteous judgment of God.

Today we will begin in Psalm 4 verse 3. where we learn that we can have confidence that God hears and answers our prayers because He has chosen us to himself and we are precious to him.

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
John 11:45-46
The wondrous miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead was the clearest proof that Jesus was indeed the Messiah, the Son of God. Some believed because of this miracle, but some did not. What’s the difference between these two groups?
The simple answer is – faith.
One group had, or was using faith, while the other did not.
Let me begin with a reminder that our faith does not make any of the work of God true as a fact or to us as individuals. Jesus planned to and did raise Lazarus from the dead regardless how well people believed it or not. The work of Jesus is an objective fact. Subjective belief or unbelief does not change this fact. However, our faith allows us to rejoice that Jesus Christ did this work as the Son of God!
The overwhelming evidence presented in the Bible of Who Jesus is does not create faith in someone. In fact, the Bible even states that belief in a fact is not necessarily faith. Consider:
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
James 2:19
If belief was the cause of salvation, then the devils would have saved themselves!
We know that this is not true. The acknowledgment of a fact does not make it a fact, nor does it affect the condition of the one who believes. Those acting in unbelief were either not using the faith that God gave them or, most likely, they did not possess faith at all.
No one could deny what Jesus did. In fact, the Pharisees even sought to kill Lazarus to hide the fact of what Jesus had done.
Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
John 12:9-11
These are people that suppress the truth in their sin. This exhibits that they are still in their totally depraved state, dead in sin.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Romans 1:18
The group that went to tattle to the Pharisees most likely were some that either had no faith or were so brainwashed by the Pharisees into obedience that they had ceased to think for themselves even when it hurt them.
Even though the kingdom of God is invisible in terms of an earthly kingdom, it can be both seen and entered into by those who have been born again (John 3). Therefore, we can conclude that those who saw and believed on Jesus were showing clear evidence of the faith that was given to them in regeneration. This group is, no doubt, of the elect family of God, and will be with Jesus forever!
Do you believe on Jesus? Then, rest in hope for your faith and belief did not cause your salvation. You may have doubts and fears that still come into your mind, but your faith points to an objective fact that Jesus died for you!

Psalm 4 is a partner Psalm written about the same time as Psalm 3. Psalm 3 is often consider to be a morning Psalm while this Psalm is its evening counterpart. In this Psalm, David shows us that since God has sovereignly saved us by His grace, He is there to help us when we call on Him in prayer.

One of the consequences was a coop led by his own son, Absalom. David was forced to flee Jerusalem for his life. While in the wilderness, David gains hope that he will return to the throne. His hope is not based on anything he had done. It was based solely on the unfathomable grace and mercy of God.

Partnered with this is the devil's oldest lie that there is no absolute truth. We have the most sure word of truth to guide us. The Bible is true and should be read and followed.

John tells us to put everything we hear “on trial” by comparing it to the word of God. When we do this we can have assurance that we are standing in the truth and have peace and joy despite the fact we are surrounded by wickedness and hate in the world.

Because – 1st John 2:12-14 (January 24, 2021) In chapter 2 of his Epistle, John has just given a major charge to the disciples of Christ to love others just like Jesus loves them. A few verses later, John will give an equally grand charge to “love not the world.” Between these two charges, he gives a small “pep rally” reminding each of us, that no matter what level of maturity we have in Christ, we are all loved and blessed by the same Father and His Son Jesus Christ. And it is “because” of these graces that John writes to them and us.

Today's episode concludes Elder Bryce's message from Luke, Chapter 2. God celebrated the birth of Jesus into the world with perhaps the Greatest Show on Earth. We too can and should celebrate the birth of our Savior. However, we should remember how the first men, the shepherds, spread the news. It wasn't with a big show or rock and laser light concert. They simply told the message of the Savior's birth to everyone they met.
Paran Primitive Baptist Church. Preaching from Luke, Chapter 2, Elder Bryce shows us that God celebrated the birth of His Son into the world, not with fancy lights and a major show, but with a simple message. Today, we should seek to find Jesus and His blessings in the simple and humble things that the world often ignores.
Today's edition of Triumphal Feast is the concluding message of our series on Paul's Epistle to the Church at Ephesus. As he closes the letter, the Apostle bids farewell to this church that was so dear to him. He also takes time to say some encouraging words about a few of his friends that have been a blessing to him.
It is very easy to remember to pray for ourselves, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, our discipleship is to have a focus on others. We need to be part of a community of pray for others in our local church. This body prays for those they know well and for God to bless its ministers to teach them.
