We are born already spiritually dead with a sinful nature that separates us from the Lord. It’s a sinful; depraved nature that we need to be redeemed from... This is why people are so wicked and evil. Going to church does not redeem us from this nature. Singing on a choir does not save us from this nature. Giving money to a church does not deliver us from this nature. Being kind to others does not rescue us from this nature. Being a 'good person' does not ransom us from this state of depravity; for none among us is good in his/her own nature (it is only the Lord’s righteousness that we need that will make us blameless before Him). ONLY CHRIST IS THE SOLUTION. Redemption is the way to the Father and eternal life in happiness with Him. Any other way a man (or woman) attempts to be justify before the Lord; they will only be beating the air with their fists and in the end; their soul will be lost forever. Believe (upon the name of Christ) Repent (i.e. turn from your sinful nature and seek the Lord's will); and be Saved (be converted from your sins and you will see the Lord in the end and live....) This is a faithful saying.
We need to press into the Father and ask Him to give us courage to continue in Him even in the face of grave persecution, even when He shows us the darkness in our own hearts, we can't lose heart, but remember that His grace is sufficient for us. We have to get to the place where we feel the same way He does about sin--despise it. We need to ... despise sin because it is not just design to harm us, but it is designed to utterly DISTROY US. In addition, sin is designed to cut us off from the Lord. So even as Christians when we tolerate sin in our lives we are separating ourselves from the Lord and playing right into the devil’s plan...
