Y'all, what Colorado is doing to former President Trump is both petty and irresponsible. These types of moves are going to have very far reaching consequences that I personally don't believe have been seriously considered. These state and federal government entities are playing a very stupid game in our faces and in the end, who ends up losing? Regular folks like you and me. What has happened to us?
Hear me talk about my day. If you enjoyed the background music, it's the instrumental version of Lana Del Rey's 'Salvatore' from her amazing 'Honeymoon' album. One of my favorite songs from her and definitely my favorite song on the album.
The gay community still has a lot to learn regarding the stigma around HIV. Most of us are not whores, but broken people who made terrible decisions at dark moments in their lives. We shouldn't be punished for that. Living with HIV is punishment enough.
I know I'm late to the party, but I am eternally grateful for the people in my life that mean the most to me.
In the United States, if you don't have health insurance, you could be in for a world of hurt. Add to the fact that most companies don't want to pay you a livable wage and you're going to be in some deep trouble.
When it comes to the west (America) we put out that we are more self-aware and capable than we really are. Our government is supposed to look out for us but they're more concerned with growing their legacy than looking out for the people who put them into power.
Music is like a language we as humans can all speak together that can open doors and bring us together. Whether it's to dance or cry, music can do wonders for the heart and mind. Songs to check outTurbulence by P!NKSaturday nights by KhalidTalk of the town by Elle KingPower of the Dream by Celine DionSuperstar by Luther VandrossCount on Me by Whitney HoustonAll great songs for very different moods. The only person in life you should EVER compete with is yourself. Competition can be a good thing in some cases, but in many instances, it can cause a plethora of self doubt and emotionally harmful thoughts. Keep everyone else out of your line of sight and keep on keeping on. The prize will come to you in time.
I am taking my late mother's advice and living life so true to fashion I decided to go to my first concert EVER and I saw none other than Queen Bee herself. I was super thrilled to have experienced this one time show but even more thrilled that Ticketmaster decided to offer me a discount ticket to see P!NK three days later for only $50! Of course I took the opportunity and had a much better time than I expected, but I don't know why I was so surprised, because P!NK is notorious for putting on a great show. I don't want to say too much here, so tune in to the episode to get the full blow by blow.Instagram: @s.k.turner77
Sometimes, knowing something means nothing when the other guy knows nothing but knows somebody.
In a world full of social media dating apps, finding the right person can be incredibly difficult, if not impossible. Are you willing to sacrifice a list of wants from a stranger who doesn't exist, for a person who could make you happy or will you pass up someone of substance for small talk?
In the United States and presumably in other parts of the world, representation in media has started to become a hot button topic. Many people believe that we as a society should have equal representation, but to add more, means to take away from some... Or does it? That's what this episode is all about.
The gym used to be a place to work out and push yourself to become healthier. Now, it's becoming a place to hang out, make fun of strangers, peacock and get in the way and be obnoxious. When did this change happen and why does it persist?
Tiktok is controlled by a country known to have an aggressive history with the United States of America. This app could fundamentally aid the Chinese government with espionage within the USA without actually having to come here. If there’s any credibility to the accusations that tiktok is using personal data from American citizens with malicious intent, then a ban is necessary. After all, many domestic social media platforms are banned there. Looking at you Facebook and Instagram.
On January, 19, 2023, my mother passed. She lived a very unhappy life that I got to witness first hand. Ever since I was little, I was always her cheerleader except for the end, when she needed me most. I do feel a sense of guilt about it, but I can't dwell on it now.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

I Don't honestly understand why so many people are hell-bent on policing, other people's morality! What I choose to let my children be exposed to is none of your business, especially when it comes to books that you have never read and that your kids will never read! Why are so many people concerned about this book that's in the media called 'This Book is Gay'?! I don't understand. If you don't want your child to be exposed to stuff like this, then home school them, because I can assure you, as a former teacher, this is nothing compared to what their peers expose them too. This whole witch hunt seems to be about forcing one's beliefs onto other people, and that is something I cannot abide by. If you have a problem with this kind of "lgbt stuff" in your school, then you should be just as mad about books like 'the lovely bones' or stories like 'Romeo and Juliet' or 'Oedipus'. All this outrage over a book you don't want to understand is very telling and it's incredibly sad.

During the pandemic, dogs and other animals were used to cope with loneliness and isolation. Once the pandemic ended, these animals were thrown into shelters, at least by American shelter reports, and largely forgotten. If you do not have the time, resources or heart to take care of another living creature, then please, do NOT go out and buy one. These animals have feelings, just like you or I and they deserve to be loved and protected just the same.

Biden has declared student loan debt forgiveness and the United States of America has gone nuts. So many people have so much to say, yet no one is going after the institutions who created the problem in the first place. Every year, you have June come around signifying PRIDE for the LGBTQA+ community and every year I care less and less. Why? Because I know too much about the predatory tactics of the corporate world looking to capitalize on marginalized groups just to earn some money. I also don't enjoy being on the outskirts of the LGBT group because of my racial status. Many people of color feel excluded during Pride month because we are often never included. We can only grow as a community if we want to and so many seem to enjoy things as they are. It's sad, but true.

We're being distracted by the media again with the trial of Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard, but this type of distraction is rather interesting. Men are expected to adhere to specific roles here in America regardless of how regressive and harmful those roles may be or what kind of toll it takes on the human psyche. I don't believe Johnny is completely innocent, but he's far and away the monster Amber made him out to be. Domestic abuse comes in several different forms, folks. Sometimes, the victim is the stronger one, physically, but that means very little nowadays. We need to understand who victims are and how to help them, because I believe all of this could be avoided if we taught ourselves to think outside of the man = abuser box. Don't you agree?

Here is a portion of the review I sent in to the restaurant in question. How would you feel if it were you and your friends/family?! "...I pointed out the disproportionate seating available for handicapped individuals eating at this location. Because of the quarantine rules, we are at 50% capacity, which means certain tables are unavailable, I understand, but why are there only THREE possible tables for wheelchair/handicapped people to sit at? My mother is wheelchair bound and my best friend was in a severe car crash where she flipped and now walks with a cane and suffers from knee and back pain. They both NEED a table, but there are only three available... Shouldn't those be reserved for handicapped individuals? I think so and mentioned the same to Brian, who was exceptionally rude and said that corporate was responsible because they came in and approved all the changes and seating arrangements. If that is the case, y'all need to be more cognizant of ALL patrons and not just the able bodied individuals. If y'all need to move some tables around so that the all available tables can be utilized, then you need to, because having a party with a wheelchair/handicapped person wait 8 to 10 times longer because there is nowhere to sit is ridiculous, especially when able bodied individuals don't have to wait AT ALL. I was not alone in this thought either as another table overhead my conversation with B***n and agreed to both my points, that he was rude AND there should be more seating available for handicapped people. There was, in fact an area that we could sit that had a table, but we were told that those tables were sectioned off due to the six foot rule, yet, where we were placed (in the bar) NONE of the tables were six feet apart AND both the closest tables to my party were sat while we were eating while the other half of the bar remained empty. When I told Brian that the tables weren't six feet apart he GLARED at me and said "they should be".... ". This kind of attitude is inexcusable. We as a society need to do better!

!Spoiler Alert! For those of you who are unaware of the Netflix film 'Cuties', there is a lot of controversy and backlash surrounding the film for its subject content. In this episode, I critique and review the film as the work of art it was meant to be and not by the marketing strategies Netflix used to advertise the film. As I talk about my opinions on the various matters 'Cuties' brings to light, I want you to know that these opinions are my own. Feel free to think differently than I do, but please do NOT disrespect me, because I'd never intentionally disrespect you. These scenarios the film provides are meant to start important conversations, and one of those conversations is about bringing this issue of child sexuality/sensuality in a tech heavy world to light. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and their opinions, so when it concerns the topic of ideal beauty and body type, this is no different. America has a sickness when it comes to beauty, and these are the testimonies from several individuals from several different backgrounds that talk about their different experiences trying to live up to the American ideal of beauty. Our conversation is very thought provoking (in my opinion) and I believe it has a message that many people can relate to when it concerns family. Give this one a listen and just know, that Christine will be back for more.

This was a very organic conversation and I'm glad I was able to get both of these lovely people on at the same time!

In this particular episode I had the opportunity to speak with the former professor of mine, Tami Martinez, and we spoke on several topics that may be hard to talk about. As you listen, please know that we are not trying to force any of our views or opinions on anyone. We believe that our nation is facing one of its greatest challenges in its history and these challenges need to be undertaken head-on. If you are in agreement, thank you, but if you do not agree please don't attack us for what our beliefs because we would never attack you for yours. We are all searching for a better life and that can only happen once we all come together and talk about the things that need to be talked about.

If you have ever apologized for something that you didn't mean to apologize for, but you felt pressure to apologize, that is wrong. You are valid human being and you should not have to apologize for anything you don't feel the need to apologize for. public opinion should not force your hand to do something that you don't want to do and that includes apologizing.

Capitalism is capable of doing great things but there are times when it can also go really wrong. When companies decide to profit off the death of a celebrity after their passing, I believe this is one of those times and that is wrong! It happened with Kobe. It happened with Michael and with Whitney. Now we see it happening again with Chadwick. We need to stop supporting companies who decide to create and sell merchandise to gain profit off of someone who died! Let them rest in peace and let their families grieve.

Whether you'd like to admit it or not, everyone has a little bit of racism within them. It may not look the same on everyone's face and I may not come out the same from everyone's mouth, but racism exists within us all. Admitting that maybe one of the hardest things you can ever do to yourself, but if you are really concerned about change, maybe you should try.

I just want to take the time to thank both Miss Alex and my cousin Amari for taking their time to talk to me about this very tough subject. Regardless of which side you're on, either letting the kids go to school, or keeping your kids at home, we all need to respect both decisions. We may not agree with one or the other but we must understand that these perspectives/points of view are important to the individual speaking on them. Both of these women are mothers who care very deeply for their children and would not wish them harm either physically or emotionally and they don't take these decisions lightly, as I'm sure most parents do not. Please, if you do not agree, be nice and keep any vitrol to yourself. Thank you and peace out for now!

People have told me that I should support Pete because he's gay and so am I. That's funny to me, because I remember a time when people bash the black community for voting for Obama twice, simply because he was black. I don't support Pete because I believe that he needs to work on his resume first. I believe that he would make a great president one day, just not today.

My advice to all of you listening to this individual episode, my advice would be to look up a lot of the stuff that me and my friend Khai have looked up about juries. They have extremely biased nature to them that need to be addressed sooner rather than later. Please note that neither of myself nor Khai are experts on juries what we're speaking on is our personal experience with juries and our experience with jury nullification and other aspects of picking a juror. #FixOurJusticeSystem

This is a podcast that took me a couple days to put together because I had to get all of my guest host to speak on their lives in the LGBTQA community. I hope as you listen, that you are able to understand the struggles and the lives that some of us lead, because it's not as glamorous as people may make it out to be. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with being in the LGBTQA community but we have a lot to do in the way of progress both within and on the outside. We need allies from all over to join us in improving the quality of life for everyone on this planet regardless of their minority status. If you are an agreement, please share this podcast and the stories of those being told to you today. Thank you!

Hear from a very dear friend of mine his experience with COVID while going to university. Opinions may differ, but it's very important to hear from those who have something to say. I am a firm believer that there are multiple sides and multiple feelings for how to deal with this particular pandemic. I feel for college students who cannot have the full college experience and are longing to go back to normal. These are very uncertain times and it's in these times that we need to hear each other more clearly and not be divided by what we believe. College is an important time in someone's life so having all of that importance sort of stripped away to become sort of a shell of itself can be hard and I sympathize with those who must deal with this. Leo, this is to you, I am proud as always and I wish you nothing but the best! Stay safe little bro while knowing, I'll always be there when you need me.

Listen to him talk about all the things he's done and all the things he's going to do and all the pressures he may be under. I knew him from a very young age and I just want to say now that I am very very proud of my little brother Kenzo! He will go far!

The title pretty much speaks for itself. Why is it that we glamorize underage sex depicted in our television programs? Who is this for? Why are we allowing this to happen? Look at shows like 'Riverdale, 'Love, Victor' and 'the Vampire Diaries' and tell me why we allow the portrayal of underage sex to persist!? something needs to change and it needs to happen quick because I think this is disgusting! As someone who has experienced abuse as an underage minor by an adult, this should have been addressed a long time ago in my opinion.

Self-fulfilling prophecy can be the worst thing you ever do. It can taint your perception of reality and others around you so bad, that you have no idea what's true. In your pursuit to prove yourself right, you can end up destroying long-lasting relationships and any sort of connections you may have made along the way. Is being right really worth it?

If you, like so many were promised that life would be better/easier if you went to college and earned your degree, but found that to be false. You are not alone. Hear what my friends Megan, Michael and I have to say on the matter, because in the end, college was a huge waste of money for us all. My recommendation? Trade school or find someone to get you a job BEFORE you graduate because a bachelor's degree doesn't seem to be worth a pot to piss in, these days.

The problem isn't Kanye running for president, it's the people that actively support him that are the problem. This is something that I totally missed when I made my previous podcast about not allowing Kanye to run for president. I'm glad my good friend Larry was able to help me see the error of my ways, that Kanye isn't the problem that it's the people who actively support him that could potentially tank the well-being of our nation for the next four years.

Hear from two very great teachers about how they have seen teaching change since they've started. The struggles have become more numerous, as have the obstacles to their success and the success of their protégés. They seem to be standing in a war zone with little to no support from those who should be their number one cheerleaders and they are effectively losing this war. Parents, administration, students and school school districts need to really rally behind their most precious resource before that pipeline is all tapped out. Teachers deserve more than we have been giving them. And that's putting it mildly!

I think Kanye West should not only stop running for president, but also retire as a celebrity. He is not well as many of you may know, so any endorsement of his actions will on further harm him. He is not someone we would want in office and his running for president will only help further Trump. If you are unaware of the election of 1912, then I advise you to listen to this podcast because it may shed some light on how Kanye West running for president will be beneficial for Trump's re-election.

Having to deal with homophobia in this day in age is completely unacceptable. We as a society need to dig deep and get over our preconceived notions about people we don't know. Chris, I'm sorry you had to deal with homophobia recently. I know you're angry (I'm angry too) and you have every right to be. Never give in and always know you're valid to feel what you feel. Words hurt, ladies and gentlemen and they have the ability to create very destructive outcomes. We need to do better. Homophobia and any form of discrimination cannot be allowed to persist. Let it die, let it die! Let it shrivel up and die!
