Executive Director Sarah Flemming isn’t shy in expressing her passion for creating opportunities for a better community, more specifically community access. We highlight growing up in Truro (moving away, coming back - a familar story for many), housing, and the general needs of our community. Not to be too cheesy, but being both born and raised in Colchester, talking to Sarah made us feel hopeful about the future in this county. Resources:

Disclaimer:This episode contains content of grief and a very brief acknowledgment of suicidal thoughts. It is important to note this episode does contain post-grieving processes of the events of April 18-19, 2020. With that, there will be nothing about those events nor post-events including the inquiry. This is a conversation about one's grief and how it has shaped their reality.

This is an episode we hold extremely dear to our hearts, as Taylor opens up her heart and soul to us, allowing us to have a glimpse into her journey with navigating grief. Aside from being a Truro local, Taylor is a mom, daughter, an incredible writer, and an advocate for grief. Grief is a complicated emotion/experience that a lot of us shy away from - but not for Taylor. Imperfectly Taylor is a blog that Taylor started approximately three years ago to support herself through an extremely difficult time.

As someone who tends to bottle emotions up, Taylor expresses the role that Imperfectly Taylor has played in supporting herself through the grieving process, and how society shapes the way we think about grief and what grief is “supposed” to look like

We love Imperfectly Taylor (especially the Music Monday posts), and we have no doubt that you will love it just as much.

Greif can be difficult. Let’s talk about it.

Remember that super cool crocheted sweater that went viral a while back??? Yup? Well that was Grace!

Grace from Grace’s Handmades spills the tea about her unique journey with crocheting, including absolutely blowing up on Instagram over night, her love for Maud Lewis, and some not so fun facts about fast fashion + so called ‘crocheted’ goods.

In all honesty, we could have talked to Grace for HOURS! And…we have a theory about the future, all of which we share with her of course.

Super cool human. Super cool artwork.

We talk all thing Truro Forest School in this episode with the inspiring Natalie Jess-Fiene.

Natalie wears a lot of hats. She is the Program Director of Truro Forest School, and has 15 years of experience as an archeologist, and silviculturalist. AND on top of that, she is military trained.

She explains what Forest school is all about, including why and how it benefits children, how it’s different than ‘regular’ school, and the importance of everyone, not just children, to connect with Mother Nature herself.

One thing we absolutely adore: Natalie’s so so passionate about the true history of land-use; the connection between culture and nature; and how we can all contribute to environmental preservation and sustainability - which as you’ll learn, can begin at a young age!
