In this episode, we hear from Marine Corps Veteran Jorge Machado. Jorge grew up in the Northern part of Venezuela and came to the United States with his mom at 15 years old. He went on to join the Marine Corps as an 0352 (Anti-Tank Missileman) and later become a naturalized citizen just before his military career ended. He then transitioned to school where he utilized his GI Bill to gain his Master's Degree. One internship opened the door for him to get in the door of the finance world, and his leadership skills that he gained during his time in the service propelled him into a role that he became very good at. This episode will serve to remind you that lessons you learn during your time of service can drastically affect where you go in life.

Harrison is a Marine Corps Veteran currently living in Pittsburgh, PA. His story is one like you have never heard before. From being left behind on an operation in Afghanistan to his multiple encounters with seeing injuries and casualties, Harrison has stories that will take your breath away. He went on to dual major in college and is now a firearms instructor at a range. He exemplifies everything it means to overcome trials and tribulations and has come out the other side as a great person and an even better friend.
Over a year ago, I received a phone call that sent me on this journey toward trying to help Veterans transition into civilian life. Bryan Bartow committed suicide on February 17, 2021. He was a man that others described as a Leader, a mentor, a great friend and the one that stood up for the right thing even when it was unpopular to do.
In this episode, I sat down with Bryan's Mom, Kim Bartow. She talks about his life and sheds light on his story through his battles with multiple TBI's, deployments and relationship hardships. She does a wonderful job of keeping Bryan's story alive and hopes that others can learn something from his story. The big takeaway from this episode is "Ask for Help"! You have people that care about you and brothers that will support you.

Patrick is a Citadel graduate as well as a Lexington Sheriff's Department Veteran. His real world experience with burglaries, suicides and the occasional Vice President detail are topics of conversation that you will not want to miss.
Patrick and I are co-workers at Southpoint Solutions where we work hard to manage projects for our customers and engage in meaningful relationships for the longevity of our company.
Patrick goes into detail about the hardships he had to overcome to get to this point in life and I am ecstatic that he found his way and found his purpose.
This life is not easy, but it is worth it.

Jesse and I went to Bootcamp together back in 2010 and I had the privilege of serving with him throughout the entire time I was in the Marine Corps. We both were 0352's (Anti Tank Missilemen) and assigned to 2/6 Weapons Co.
Jesse and his family went on to create an amazing following through their YouTube presence with his own creation of Spartan Overland. He is a dedicated Husband, Father and Outdoorsman. He single handedly put together our Marine Corps Reunion that we have every year in November. When he is not enjoying the great outdoors, he works in Graphic Design.
Jesse and I have stayed close throughout the years and have made it a mission to help our brothers that are suffering from hard times (post military).
